Chapter 6

Chapter 6:

Within the first week, it became evident that Draco had made a giant mistake in accepting this post. He felt this most acutely during his dreaded lunch hour. He couldn’t find peace, it seemed that despite his less-than-stellar reputation in the magical community, teenage girls had quite the fancy for him, he often found a group of them huddled giggling following him around. Interestingly the boys were just as besotted, but they challenged him to random duels. It was entertaining if not a little annoying, had there not been rules about practicing magic on students he would have really shown them what the dark lord’s teaching can do. Draco mused all of this as he found himself wandering the castle looking for a spot to have a little time before he had to get to his afternoon lesson, he was contemplating making the long trip back to his rooms but it seemed so pathetic.

He was walking down a familiar hallway when he realized where exactly he was, right outside the place that was the room of requirement. He stopped in his tracks remembering the last time he was there, watching his friend die by the fiendfyre. Is it possible it’s still there? I mean the rest of the castle was repaired. He decided even if it was, he didn’t care to know, he wasn’t about to open a door that could possibly have Fiendfyre taking over the school. So he walked on.

At least he hadn’t heard complaints from parents yet, he was sure the howlers would start showing up at any times. They still came regularly at the manor, it didn’t matter that he was there alone, with no family, no elves, and half his fortune gone, people still wanted to yell at him about what a piece of shit he was…is. He didn’t disagree really, but still stung anyway.
