Summary
Daphne Greengrass has been enchanted by Helaine Potter's beauty since the Yule Ball in their fourth year. Even though the Yule Ball had been over ten years ago, she could recall what Helaine had worn that night like it was yesterday. That night was the first time she had truly looked at Helaine and seen something other than 'the girl who lived'.

"You ready my little laurel?" Her mother asked. Daphne Greengrass looked into the mirror nervously. Her bonding with Heiress Helaine Potter was today. She had never felt so excited yet so nervous at the same time before.

Daphne had been enchanted by Helaine Potter's beauty since the Yule Ball in their fourth year. Even though the Yule Ball had been over ten years ago, she could recall what Helaine had worn that night like it was yesterday. That night was the first time she had truly looked at Helaine and seen something other than 'the girl who lived'. She was wearing a gorgeous silk emerald green gown with a full skirt that barely reached her ankles, long sleeves that (along with the skirt) had little gems embroidered into them, and emerald high heels that she could hardly walk in. Her untidy black hair was put up into a twisted bun upon her head with a ribbon piecing it all perfectly together.

Daphne was sure that was the night she had first fallen in love with Helaine. Seeing her twirl and gyrate around with Heiress Parvati Patil made Daphne long to be the one having her in her own arms.

Now, fourteen years later, here she was preparing to bond with Helaine Potter-- something she never would have imagined happening back in her fourth year. While Parvati Patil and Helaine Potter seemed to be together only that one night, Miss Ginny Weasley was the one who halted Daphne's plans of courting Helaine. Miss Weasley and Helaine were courting each other for five continuous years until one day they broke it off. From what Helaine had told her, Miss Weasley and Helaine both decided that they weren't the right person for each other and ended their relationship on good terms.

"I'm ready mum, just a bit nervous. " Daphne said while twirling a loose strand of her blonde hair around her finger. She could barely wait any longer. In just an hour she'd be walking out there for what would most likely be the happiest moment of her life. In just an hour she'll no longer be Daphne Greengrass-- she'll be Daphne Potter. That was truly the most exciting part of the bonding process. She loved being a Greengrass but she knows that she'll love being a Potter even more. It'll be like she's carrying a part of Helaine with her anywhere she goes. Daphne couldn't help but wonder but Helaine would look like. They didn't go dress shopping together because Daphne wanted to be surprised by what Helaine would be wearing. Helaine would probably look as beautiful as the day Daphne had first truly seen her.

The dress Daphne had chosen was a verdant floor length dress that was flowy at the skirt but tight at the top. It had no sleeves and was paired with black high heels and white silk gloves that reached her elbows.

Once Daphne and Helaine are bonded, the first thing Daphne wants to do is let Helaine's hair free of its bonds. To see her unruly black hair loose and in all its glory. Safe in the Potter Manor, alone in Helaine's room, will be the day Daphne dies from happiness. She may have been called 'the Ice Queen of Slytherin' but that didn't mean she wasn't a hopeless romantic.

With only twelve minutes left until she'll go out there and see Helaine for the first time this entire day, Daphne smiles.
