Getting your Timetable
As you continued to walk along the dungeons in silence, you realised an unpleasant fact. And although you try to keep any thoughts about Snape to the back of your mind. You become all the more aware of the Fact. You find the Headmaster - despite his unusually coarse demeanour and cold appearance - attractive and remarkably appealing. You bite your lower lip absently as you remember his intense gaze. His irises, which stand out in a remarkable dark chestnut colour. You've even noticed the slight red undertone. Really remarkable eyes, you say to yourself in your mind.
‘Let's see if old Professor Slughorn is at all responsive,’ Astoria said, snapping you out of your train of thought. ‘Excuse me?’ you clear your throat, ‘Swan, old Slughorn likes to look a little deeper into the glass and yesterday was the last possible time the professors could be student-free. - Well, let's not ignore the fact that we didn't see him at breakfast. Let's assume that he might be unresponsive,’ she said, as if it were that obvious, leaving no room for discussion.
She knocked on his old wooden door and waited for an audible movement behind it. When she assumed you were to report to him at a later time. Finally, the wooden door opened with a slight squeak.
‘By Merlin, Bart, why can't you wait until the afternoon with your questions,’ Slughorn said with an annoyed sigh as he opened the door wider. ‘Sorry for the inconvenience, Professor Slughorn, but our new exchange student, Miss Swan, still needs the new timetable,’ Astoria finally explained quickly, sounding eager. Professor Slughorn looked at you as he muttered to himself. ‘Sir?’ you finally asked, feeling unsettled by his demeanour. ‘Miss Greengrass, would you be so kind as to take the parchment from the first drawer of my desk,’ Slughorn finally said as he slowly retreated to another room. You and Astoria entered his chambers, which were quite lavish for a single professor. His furniture was all a shade of brown, with precious enchanting antiques here and there. You noticed a large green hourglass decorated with silver snakes. The hourglass itself moved in a spiral motion, so that the green sand moved slowly but dancingly downwards.
Astoria finally went to a massive antique dark oak desk with ornaments. Where all the papers on it were spread out very neatly on the table. And although your first impression of Professor Slughorn's drinking behaviour could be labelled more than questionable. The old professor knew how to maintain order and cleanliness. You watched as Astoria scurried around the desk and opened the first drawer. It took her a moment before she found the parchment you were looking for and came back to you.
She handed you the parchment, which you gratefully accepted, and then led you out of the chamber, quietly closing the wooden door behind her. She chuckled lightly before turning it back to you. ‘Professor Slughorn, is otherwise a really nice and patient professor.’ ‘You'll get to know him a little better in the last two hours today,’ she said, smiling enthusiastically. ‘I'm excited about the idea,’ you say, giving her the same smile.
You move purposefully back to your common room, as the first class starts in about an hour. As you do so, you take a closer look at the parchment.

Astoria looked over your shoulder and looked at your timetable. ‘You seem quite inquisitive, judging by your timetable,’ she finally said in amazement. ‘I like to keep myself busy,’ you reply. You don't try to go into the subject any further.
Your need to be busy comes more from your rebellious nature. As you are desperate, you try to suppress it as much as possible. As long as you can distract yourself, you won't get yourself into unnecessary trouble.
But inside, you ask yourself again why you can't get a grip on your thoughts towards Snape.
