Hospital Wing of Hogwarts
When I slowly opened my eyes again, I realized that I had a terrible headache. I couldn't see my surroundings properly because of the pain and everything was still blurred. But there were probably several people in the room and I was probably lying on a bed. There were movable partitions to the right and left of the bed, which could only indicate a hospital wing. I recognized several figures to my left, several meters away from me. Their backs were all turned towards me, so they couldn't see that I was slowly coming to.
I sighed as another headache stung. One of the blurry figures turned his attention back to me.
"She looks like someone has returned to us," said the male voice that I couldn't place. And all the other figures finally turned towards me and came closer to me.
I held my hand in front of my eyes as I tried to massage them.
"Let me through everyone please" scolded a female voice this time, quickly rushing beside me. "Miss Swan, tell me what your symptoms are right now," she asked me as she stood next to me, fidgeting in her hospital apron.
"Uh.....my head....and.... I can barely see...", I said quietly but audibly. She finally took out a small flashlight and pointed it at my sensitive eyes.
"Please open your eyes for a moment, dear," she said gently and I did my best to oblige. "Mhh...", Kurz said, ending the examination of my eyes.
"I could give you a potion for the headache, but your eyes. "I didn't see anything abnormal." "You may need to rest a little," she said and continued. "They'd best stay here overnight, just to be on the safe side."
I sighed a little louder this time and she turned back to get me the tank.
"You couldn't have picked a better moment to pass out," the male voice from earlier finally said, slightly amused. I failed to realize that he didn't mean it in a mean way, but was joking a little.
I squinted my eyes slightly to get a closer look at the figures. And finally I recognized a couple of figures. Professor McGonagall, who was standing slightly apart, and the short man whose name I didn't know.
"I think... that Miss Swan would like to rest..." said a rather familiar, rather rough voice.
The tall black figure finally moves a little closer to your bedside. You couldn't tell how Snape was looking at you. The others finally wished you a speedy recovery and slowly made their way to the hospital wing.
The nurse who had just examined you came back and hurried to the other side of the sickbed.
"So dear, what I'm about to give you won't taste very good. But it will make sure that you are back tomorrow without any worries. " she told you sincerely and handed you a small cup with a green, thick liquid.
I took the cup without argument and downed it like a short liqueur. "Bahhhh...." I mouthed to myself and had to bite my tongue.
"Did you think something tasted like pumpkin juice?" she said, scoffing slightly. She eventually left too, leaving you alone with Snape.
"I might have a serum......er paused briefly before continuing...which could help you with your eyesight," "but I would have to brew it in the brewing cellar first, that would take some time," he explained in a bored tone.
You could only see his shape, just the outline, when you tried to look at him. His voice sounded pleasant to your ears and you just said: "Mh....".
He stood in front of your bedside for a while longer without another word until he finally turned and walked out of the hospital wing. Your fingers tingled and prickled as you heard his muffled large footsteps in the distance. It wasn't a good sign, you said to yourself. Since you knew that feeling all too well, since you were frustrated and you wanted to do something risky again. And even though your vision was very limited. You take deep breaths and try to organize your racing thoughts. You thought about the last few moments in the main meeting room. And couldn't explain why someone had tried to force their way into your thoughts.
Fortunately, your occlumency was good enough to defend yourself, but that took its toll. Your mother also taught you this from an early age and you train with her regularly. You hope that you were able to scare them off a little.
You lean back into your bed and try to calm yourself down. What you need now is music, you told yourself and raised one of your hands. You were able to cast a few small spells even without a magic word or words. And so your MP3 player floated into your outstretched hand. As you put the headphones in your ear, you pressed randomly on the small device and recognized the song that was being played. Cinderella by Limi and from the looks of it, the continuous loop of your MP3 was on, so you listen to the song over and over again. It doesn't bother you and eventually you fall asleep.
It was the middle of the night when you had a nice dream. You dreamt that a stranger's hand was gently stroking your face and you really liked the feeling. You only know loving touches from your mother, but these touches in a dream left a warm mark. Your body slowly heats up and you feel a tingling sensation between your legs. But the touching stopped and your body reacted in frustration, you then arched your body deeper into the bed and let out a little sigh. One of your headphones fell out of your ear.
"Miss Swan?" Said a soft muffled raspy voice. The voice repeated itself a little louder this time. And it was as if you could hear a slight echo.
You stretched and slowly tried to open your eyes. While you were aware that the room was dark, you finally recognized a dark figure from your bed. And although you still couldn't see, you knew he was the principal.
"The promised serum," he said curtly, handing it to you before you could say another word.
"I assume you can manage the rest on your own?" he asked sharply and finally made his way to the hospital wing.
You were still very sleepy and could only utter a quiet "Thank you" when he was already halfway there. But Snape stopped for a moment and spoke again briefly.
"I wish you a restful rest of the evening," he said softly and gently. You weren't sure if he had really said anything. His behavior surprised you a little, even though you only got to know him today.
Finally, you used the eye ointment and went back to bed. You didn't find sleep as quickly this time, as you couldn't control your thoughts for Headmaster Snape. You didn't think you would get so much attention at once. But eventually the night overtook you again as your thoughts still ran over to Snape.
