In a Sky Full of Stars (I See You)

An open field, cold, nighttime grass made warm by the heat of their bodies laying comfortably next to each other. The sky, painted with stars for light years around; each one shining with a unique, fiery passion. Each with own passion, it’s own path — some serving as part of a path, made whole together. Constellations.

“Can you see that one?” Draco pointed at a certain constellation in the sky.

Draco. Harry’s shining star. His passion, his purpose, his path made whole. The flame on his heart burning brighter than any star Harry had ever seen, his eyes filled with more light than the brightest supernova. His eyes, sparkling like the most brilliant glaciers floating upon a grey ocean. Once Harry had turned his head to face him, he couldn’t stop himself from staring, if only for a moment, before turning his attention to the group of stars in question.

“Oh, yeah” he smiled with curiosity, wondering where Draco would take this. They both knew he knows next to nothing about astronomy.

“So... that’s the Draco constellation.. it never sets so you can see it all year long” By his tone of voice alone it was beyond obvious that he was making everything up as he went.

Harry couldn’t help but laugh, bringing him upward into the start of a sitting position, his arm supporting his entire upper body, his legs curling slightly and moving to the side as he met Draco’s gaze once again.

“Oh yeah?” A playful smirk. “Cause last I checked, the entire world couldn’t fit within a single constellation.”

Draco snorted at the comment. He shouldn’t have laughed as hard as he did, he really shouldn’t have, but he did.

“That was so cheesy”

“I know”

Harry laid back down, giving Draco a kiss on the cheek and huddling closer to him than before. He let himself get lost in the endless universe above.

Sometimes he wondered what he’d do without Draco; how life could possibly move forward without his light, his spark. He was always brought back to the same thought. He didn’t have to wonder, he knew. Harry knew he’s always have him, so long as that constellation up there doesn’t set.
