Nice to meet who?

The sounds of the bustling crowd and crying children infiltrated the thoughts of James Potter as he ran into platform 9 ¾ his parents steps behind him. James was tall for his age, dark chocolate brown hair, and bright hazel eyes. He walked around slightly before stopping in front of his parents.

“Well.” He stood in soldier formation in which his father copied while his mother laughed. “This is fair- well dear parents. I will send owls as much as possible and expect the same. No fighting and don’t do anything illegal. Got it?”

“Yessir!” His father chanted. They all laughed as they hugged. James breathed in the smell of his mother's perfume, smiling as she planted a kiss on his head. He turned to his father and they embraced, Fleamont was proud of his son James, And James was proud of his father Fleamont, And they both knew it. Eventually they waved goodbye as James hurried to a compartment, Euphemia had tears in her eyes as she watched her only son start the journey of life.

James eventually found an empty compartment and rushed to the window to say a final goodbye. He briefly notices a slim boy with hair like the night sky, cold silver eyes stared back, his handsome features so sharp it could cut through steel with a singular movement and a posture so fine it’s a surprise he wasn’t fainting at the pressure. The boy was standing off to the side as what James suspected to be his parents were lecturing a taller boy that looked similar.

Sirius had tried not to fight with him on his first day at Hogwarts, but when has Sirius ever gotten what he wanted? The whole time his father complained about how he held the honor of the black family while his mother lectured him on how long his hair was getting. These would seem like normal, simple, things parents would do, to a normal, simple, family. But the Blacks were anything but Normal, let alone simple. For instance his family’s wish to stay pure, lead Sirius to be so inbred that if Sirius spread his toes he would have webbed feet. Sirius believed he got it lucky. His younger brother, Regulus Arcturus Black, had been born with a condition that caused him to sneeze like a kitten. Although muggles take it as a sign of cuteness in their little world. It's a sign of WAY too much inbreeding, in the wizarding world.

Sirius rolled his eyes as his father reminded him of the Black Family honor before he was released. He quickly gives a hug to Regulus before running onto the train, a sense of freedom overcoming him. As he raced through the compartments trying to find a decent one he bumped into a very hot looking person glaring slightly at him as he picked his book off the ground. He was taller than Sirius from what he could tell, if only a few inches. His hair was a Dirty blond brownish color and he had scars on him.

“I’m deeply sorry.” Sirius was quick to apologize as he righted himself. “It was all my fault, I should've not been running.”

The boy looked pleased with Sirius’s answer, for when he spoke it was soft and inviting. “You’re fine. It’s partially my fault too. Do you want to sit with us?” The boy pointed to a smaller, much mousier feature. His hair was A light mousy brown, eyes a similar color and he was in need of a diet.

Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew had grown up as neighbors. Their Parents were friends and that meant Remus and Peter had to get used to each other. So as their first year of Hogwarts came up the two families carpooled over to the station and said farewell to their sons before eventually apparating back home to enjoy a nice double date without any kids. The two them boarded the train just for Remus to be bombarded with the likes of a handsome boy. Remus quickly invited the boy to sit with them, while ignoring Peter’s knowing pokes and glares.

The three decided on a compartment with only one person in there.

“HI! I’m James Potter. Nice to meet you! What are your names? Are you in your first year too? Are we friends now? I feel like we’re friends now! Wait, what was your name again?” Sirius stared at his mouth open wide. He had never heard anyone talk so much in so little of seconds.

“I’m Sirius, Sirius Black.” He answered, grinning ear to ear. Poor Mum and Dad, What was it again? Don’t befriend a Potter under any circumstance?

“I’m Remus Lupin and this is Peter Pettigrew.” Remus and James shook hands.

“Do you mind if we sit with you?” Remus pointed to the benches.

“Not at all. I need company!” James Bounce back into his seat. “Do you guys play Quidditch? I play. Dad reckons I’ll make the team next year. I’m either going for Seeker or Chaser!”

“I play!” Sirius beamed. “I play beater.”

“We don’t play.” Remus mentions briefly.

“How come?” James raises an eyebrow.

“I suck at flying and believe it or not a horrible fear of heights.” Remus turned a page in his book.

“I fly a bit. Not good enough to play and not enough courage either.” Peter's voice was squeaky just as Sirius had imagined.

After James and Sirius talked about quidditch for a while James came in with another question.

“So! What house are you all planning to be in?” Sirius lowered his head not really wanting to accept his fate. “I’m going to be Gryffindor!” James announces proudly.

“I want to be Gryffindor but I wouldn’t mind Hufflepuff.” Peter shrugged.

“Ravenclaw and Gryffindor sound nice.” Remus looks up from his book for a second to look around, noticing Sirius. “How about you Sirius?”

Sirius let out a deep sigh, “Anything but Slytherin”

“Why so?” James looked puzzled.

“For over 52 generations, that's about, let's say, 1,300 years. My family has been in the Slytherin house. And I don’t know maybe I don’t want to be a stuck up, curse loving, child hating prat that lives for chaos.” Sirius looked out the window and closed his eyes wishing they would stop staring.

“Blimey. and I thought you seemed alright” Was all said in response and to which Sirius was grateful, and if he was honest made him laugh.

They all talked and eventually Remus set down his book and joined in. Before you knew it the four of them were closer to each other than a pack of wolves, a herd of deer, a group of rats, a litter of Dogs. They all laughed at these references and briefly did Sirius notice a flash of anxiety show on Remus’ face.

When Sorting came along they all stood warm in the dining hall waiting their turn. After an Abbot and a couple of others Sirius is called up. The sorting hat was placed on his head covering his eyes and filling his head.

“Bright mind here. Yes. I see. Slytherin is a fair choice, Family, Fortune… ”

“Forever misery.” Sirius thought briefly.

“Ah… Not like the others, No. Indeed not. Well if you say so… GRYFFINDOR!!!! ” The hall was silent as everyone waited confused. McGonagall lifted the hat off his head and as he walk mind else where he hears James.

“WOOH!!! GO SIRIUS!!!!” Sirius couldn’t help but grin until his cousin interjected.

“No! That’s not right! He’s a Black, he goes with the Slytherins!!” Sirius looked over to see Bellatrix looking both confused and angry. Whereas Narcissa just looked betrayed.

“Not all Blacks Belong in Slytherin, Ms. Black. I am pleased to have Sirius in my house.” Sirius looked up to see McGonagall smiling at him, at which he smiled back taking his seat next to Frank Longbottom, a prefect.

After that catastrophe, a few more people went before Remus too was sorted into Gryffindor and not long after was Peter and James.

“I knew we were meant to be together!” James said sappily as hugged Sirius.

“Thanks mate. But my parents won't be too pleased.” Sirius let out a small laugh.

“All’s good, As long as we have each other. Am I right?” James squeezed Sirius one more time before reaching over the table to hug the others.
