Note
It is my first work written in English (which is my second language). I apologize in advance in case of grammatical errors or other typos I could make. I will try to avoid it at best! This story has been building itself in my mind for the past few months and I thought it could be a forging experience for me to try and express it with words on a 'paper'. I am quite new to the Harry Potter fandom/marauders fandom, so I ask for your kind understanding..! I studied the European Wizarding family tree and tried to stay as close as the real story but will obviously deviate for storyline continuation purpose.Thank you so much for your understanding and I wish you the best.KindlyRegardFougueux

1984, Please come back.

December 1st, 1984

The days had been particularly foggy and humid, leaving a sense of nostalgia of the previosu summer days. The atmosphere at Hogwarts was not the best, even though Christmas holidays were slowly approaching. December had just started.

A huge explosion resounded in the entire castle, waking up everyone at dawn. Students rushed to their common room to chat among themselves and ask the older classmates of what was going on. Prefects were busy trying to calm down everyone, themselves not knowing of the current matter. professors quickly found themselves hurrying around the school, some still having their sleepwear on.

Dumbledore was the first one to reach the origin of the explosion, in the great hall. House elves were running around, scared of the loud noises and the thick wind crushing in the hall, after the windows had been broken by the explosion.

- Who are you? And what do you want?! Screamed the headmaster, wand in hand, quickly joined by his colleagues who had finally found their way to the ground floor.

A black foggy silhouette appeared among the smoke and the rubbles. The man was wearing a dark black capes and a mask on his face to hide his identity.

" You have information about the Elemental.

Give it to us or you will perish like all the others.

The Dark Lord will rise back to his former glory.

Tell us where to find her,

Or you'll die, crushed by the power of Him "

Minerva, her grib tightening on her hand understood instantly who they wer referring to, as well as Dumbledore and snape. The other professors were in shock and lost at the man's words, not understanding what he seemed to be looking for.

Snape rushed in front of everyone and summoned a powerful spell to attack the intruder, his rage translating through his wand moves. he ketp attacking before dumbledore stopped him by raising his arm.

- Severus, he's already gone.

- The coward. Said Minerva, her eyes filled with anger.

Suddenly, the dark mark appear in the great hall, and a loud shared gasp raised in the room. Quickly, a few more members of the school staff reached the room and asked about what had just happened.

Hogwarts was in grave danger.

The headmaster was walking quickly to his office to get in contact with the ministry of magic to let them know of the current events and contact some more people to prepare the future attack of the death eaters.

- Professor! yelled Professor Sprout, tired to following the headmaster everywhere without having any explanation. Will you tell us what's going on? She asked, her hands shaking a little.

Dumbledore turned back to his colleagues, discovering the whole team of school staff following him, waiting for him to speak.

- Hogwarts is in danger and will be attacked. I am afraid some of You Know Who's sbires are still on the run, and look for a way to... start chaos. We must prepare to defend ourselves before we receive help from outside.

- Why are they attacking Hogwarts?? What are they looking for? asked professor Flitwick, his mustache uncombed from the night.

- They wish to bring their dark lord back, and believe we have information about it. which is not true. We must protect the children and prepare. I will ask you to take care of the students of each houses and ask the prefects to count their classmates to check if everyone is gathered. Then, let them stay in their common room for now, no one is allowed outside. Minerva, Severus, my office, now.

Everyone quickly went their separate ways.

Once they were left alone in Dumbledore's office, the headmaster started to speak.

- As you must have guessed, they are here for Agnes.

- Why would they think we know where she is? We've had no contact with her for the past few months. said Minerva.

Snape stayed silent.

- what is it, Severus? asked Albus.

- It's just a bait. They must know Agnes will not let Hogwarts be attacked. They are going to attack each and every place and people she has created a bond with to make her reappear. Starting with Hogwarts, they will then move on to her family house in london, if it's not already done for.

The three people stayed silent. Minerva had her eyes wide open, realizing they had really no choice but to fight. Dumbledore sighed and started talking to the former heamasters portraits, ordering them to call for help everywhere they could.

students were ordered to get dressed and keep their wand with them, but only use it in case of self-defense. They were kept locked in their common room, supervised by professors and prefects. The remaining staff was preparing protection spell all around Hogwarts, reinforcing any type of protective magic that was already in use.

But before everyone could get properly ready, another explosion broke out near the school entrance, announcing the arrival of the enemies. The younger students screamed in fear and started to get agitated, making it hard for the teachers to get a hold on everyone.

Before they knew it, a bombarda maxima spell came crushing onto the Ravenclaw tower, leaving the students on vantgarde before the death eaters. Professor Flitwick stood still for a second. before him, at least a dozen of masked silhouette had just penetrated the school grounds and their common room, and a winter wind entered the room. A terrible laughs resonated in the large room.

Alohomora !

In a controlled gesture, Flitwick opened the common room door, ordering all the students to flee, and locked it as soon as everyone was out, deciding to fight all alone the death eaters who were already rushing towards him.

Now, students were running in all direction, trying to find a place to hide. Prefects looked terrified by the large amount of children in the crowd and quickly joined them in an overwhelmed gasp. The bravest 7th year took the matters in hands and joined with the youngests to lead them in a safer place.

Professor McGonagall had been fighting on her side, the entrance of the school being now invaded with death eaters. The cold wind was making it hard to move comfortably and their attire did not help. Night was still young in Scotland and the dark shadows following the enemies was blurred the vision.

- You are not welcome on Hogwarts grounds. Leave !! Screamed Minerva while throwing spells after spells, trying to locate the offenders through the shadows. one first year appear in front of her, stopping her move.

- You, what are you doing here? Join the others, quick!! She shouted, a string of hair falling before her eyes.

But before she could look up to the death eaters, a strong spell targeting the child flew by her eyes and in a quick automatic response, the transfiguration professor threw herself to protect him. A strong light emanated from the collision and the shadows spreaded to finally vanish, inducing that the intruders were already elsewhere.

There lied Professor Mcgonagall, embracing a young student who had fainted from the shock.

- Minerva !! Called Sprout before rushing towards the unresponding body lying on the floor.

From her back , a string of sharp magic had scarred the professor, making her bleed unstoppably. people rushed to help her and check on her wound. The young child was carefully carried to join the medical assistance and the adults used a levitating magic to help carry McGonagall in a safer room. People had been recluded in a the dunjeons in the slytherin's common room. being underwater made it somewhat safer for the students.

Professors and adults were still fighting upstairs, trying to locate the enemies who seemed to arrive in groups. Every minute, another member of the school was getting harmed and wounded. Some of the older students were helping out miss pomfresh to heal the wounded and prepare some traps in case the death eaters would make it all the way to the dunjeons.

In vantgarde, Severus snape was fighting with all his will, using the strongest spells he knew, in order to protect the school. Dumbledore had been joining the fight, and managed to get rid of at least twenty death eaters who had naively tried to attack him.

The headmaster had been trapped at the opposite side of the school, unable to reach his students to protect them. The intruders were trying to gain some time to launch another attack directly on the students, purposely targetting the weakests. Dumbledore being busy fighting the direct attacks towards him, he was in an embush.

At least two hours had past since the beginining of the battle, the school walls were destroyed in multiple places and the ravenclaw tower had been gravely damaged. Houseelves were trying to save some food and water to bring the students in case they'd have to stay hidden a long time but some elves had been killed in the process. Having no pity for any living creatures, the death eaters' main goal was clearly to kill everyone to make a statement big enough to bring back a certain person.

While their plan did not seem to work, a huge magical power was suddenly felt throughout the castle.

- HAHAHAHA WE MADE IT BROTHERS ! screamed one of the death eaters while he was about to throw a decisive spell on a 6th year gryffindor prefect.

All the death eaters gathered by disappearing into shadows to come into the great hall. There, a thin feminine silhouette was standing, almost levitating.

- Murderers. Leave. said a far away voice echoing into the hall, talking directly to the death eaters.

- Elemental ! You are to join us to fulfill your destiny and resucite the dark lord ! Our lord will not wait any longer, you will leave with us or we'll keep killing everyone you once cherish.

A warm light spread through the room, and the silhouette's eyes started to glow of a bright blue color. the light spread through her veins, following the flow of blood in her human body. A few more members of the school staff epentrated the damaged great hall and came to witness the rare magic from their own eyes. All of them looked dusty and exhausted from having fought the whole night. Severus Snape entered as well, his forehead completely drenched in blood, his hand still tight on his wand, ready to keep fighting. When he discovered the scene before his eyes, he whispered, like a gentle relief.

- Agnes...

At once, a bright light blinded everyone, and screams started to ring through the night.
