The shared dorm of the Weasley twins fell into an awkward silence. Neither spoke a word to each other. It was as if they didn't know each other existed at all. Your presence and comfort were replaced by nothing but shame. Fred had not told George that he had tried to speak to Cassie. George was under the impression that Fred had not spoken a word to Cassie at all. And my friend had wanted to keep it that way.

Neither we're ready to interrupt the silence. As painful as it had been, neither wanted to confess their internal plans. They wanted to keep those plans in their minds to themselves. Well, mostly to themselves.

"Talk to her, Fred, bloody hell!" George finally cried out, not being able to take the silence any longer.

Fred's eyes widened in relief and shock. "Why can't she be the one to talk first?"

"You're the one who messed up," George argued, still miraculously unaware of what Fred had done.

"Touche," He blurted out without thinking of a proper response.

Crossed Fred's mind that he should tell his twin exactly what he had done. Especially when a good portion of the school had already found out and had been spreading it around. It would be awful if George were to find out from somebody other than Fred about his actions. Their brotherhood would be nothing in his mind. And that really would hurt him as a person. George had built his entire livelihood on the fact that his brother had trusted him, and not only that, but they were twins, and it was a built-in forever bond.

For a split second, the room went back to silence. It was as if nothing had happened. As if no words were cut through the thick silence that had laid before them. The awkward silence drowned them, holding them down. Holding them so deep it hurt. Their lungs suffocate under the pressures of the waters, with the waters representing their minds.

It was fascinating how their bonds were different with each sibling versus each. The Weasley family was very close and tightened, especially with their living conditions, especially for being so tight as such a large family. The twin bond they had had always been something they relied on as it was true. They never needed to separate when they had each other.

They always had the same interests and very similar personalities. The same clothes are the same hair. The same facial features in redeeming qualities. It was as if they got to look at a beer, and each day, they got to see the same person. They each had their little quirks and differences, yet so many similarities outweighed them nonetheless.

"I did talk to her," Fred finally admitting defeat lowered his head in shame. He wasn't ashamed of telling his brothers but his own failed attempts at rekindling his situationship with the girl he so deeply cared about.

It was now time for George's eyes to widen in surprise. "And you never told me?" he couldn't help but show a bit of disappointment and hurt with his questioning. Was he not worthy of his brother's trust anymore?

"I know, I should have told you sooner, and for that, I'm sorry. I was just trying to forget about my unsuccessful attempts." His shame leaked out, and in that moment, George hugged his brother so tightly he could barely breathe.

All of the past few minutes seem to have slipped away all the pain that they originally felt gone. Replaced by something deeper instead. Something that helped them comprehend their own emotions on such a level. It was beyond their expertise.

Cassiandra changed the lives of the two Weasley twins. It didn't always feel like it was for the better, and they couldn't comprehend why she made them feel like they had to stay so attached to her. Yet even when there was doubt in their minds, they still crawled back towards her like disciples to a goddess. Never wanting to disrupt the peace the goddess brought and accept their fate as mortal men.

"You know you can tell me anything no matter how embarrassing it may be," George reassured his brother, who simply nodded, still articulating the mistakes he could have avoided by communicating

It made him think about Cassie. About how they had miscommunicated and decided so many times over and over in an endless insanity-driven cycle. If it was so easy to fix miscommunication, why weren't they together yet? Why hadn't they spoken to each other? Why had this gone on for so long now? There were so many unanswered questions, and yet Fred almost hoped he never got the answer.

In his mind, he knew the chances of the answer being what he wanted were very slim. He wanted to be right. He wanted to know for certain that Cassie loved him the way he loved her. Stars aligned in his mind, but did the stars align in hers? He was willing to do anything for her so long as I meant that she so nay if given the opportunity would do the same for him.

He was willing to give up his life for her something. He had only been willing to do for George. He was ready to give the world to her. In return, it seemed as though he would receive nothing. Everything will be ripped from his grasp, and he was aced out of everything he had hoped for.

"That reminds me we need to meet tonight at midnight near the library. I've got a brilliant prank idea," George exclaimed as if the idea had just restruck at him

The guilt of lying to his brother was starting to consume him, but there was nothing he could do. It had to be done. He had to save his and Cassie's relationship. George couldn't take it anymore. It was as if it was torturous.

"So long as it has nothing to do with Cassie," Fred remarked, rolling his eyes at his own words

"This is torture for everyone, Fred. The last thing I want to do is make it worse than it already is," George sighed out, leaving his brother completely oblivious. He could only hope it truly was for the best.
