Prologue

Near the Mirkwood forest in Middle Earth, next to the Celduin River, sat a large three story cottage owned by Octavia and Teddy Peverell. The outside of the cottage was a combination of sandstone and wood. Inside the house held, two master bedrooms with king sized four posted beds and included a large ensuite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. It had three other bedrooms that was nearly the same size, the main difference is the bed size, being only a queen. It hosted a large kitchen, and two different dining rooms. One being a formal room, and the other being smaller and closer to the kitchen. There was a sitting room, which held a large brick fireplace, a bookcase that covered the largest wall, and three different couches and a grand piano. The loungeroom was small, but also the most modern room in the house, which held two large couches, and a television. There was a separate library that was three stories in total, with a spiral staircase, and ladders on each floor, as well as small tables and armchairs throughout the rooms. There were also two offices, for the two occupants that lived in the house.

The bottom floor of the house held the sitting room, loungeroom, kitchen, both dining rooms and the start of the library. Finally, it also held the loungeroom. The second floor held the bedrooms, all being soundproofed, as well as the second floor of the library. Finally, the top floor. This floor was only accessed by a staircase and a drop door. Once the door is opened, the entire top floor is set up as an outdoor enclosure for creatures. This floor automatically expanded to fit in the creatures that Octavia and Teddy housed, with one wall that could be opened, so the creatures could be easily put into and out of the inside enclosure.

As the house in general housed a witch and a wizard, there were three more specialised rooms. These being a potions room, a duelling room and finally there was an inside gym and sparring room. These rooms were inside the basement of the house, warded to make sure no sounds could be heard, and that only specific people can enter.

Outside the cottage at the front sat nothing in particular. There was a large pond, and a small footpath that led towards the forest, ending where the wards finished, which was about half a mile into the forest. However, the side of the house that looked towards the river, and to the right side of the house was completely different. There was a large veranda that looked out onto the river, with small chairs, a dining set, and two hammocks lay. There was no specific roof over the veranda, it was set up so they could look at the night sky whenever, however, Octavia placed water repellent charms, so when it rained, it still did not reach them, or the furniture. The wards in the back led out towards halfway across the river. There were two separate wards set up here, as often boats came down the river, and needed to pass through where they were. However, Teddy and Octavia didn't want anyone seeing their creatures or the house, so specific wards they had created. These wards allowed for boats to pass through, but caused anyone other than them two, to look away from the house, and if they did turn to look it caused their eyesight to get blurry for the small moment they looked. It also made them not want to look in general.

As the house was close to the river, the length of the wards went five miles either side of the house, and the entire backyard was catered to their creatures. This even went into the forest and took up the ten miles alongside the river. There were three large greenhouses for the different magical plants they held, as well as three greenhouses that housed different fruit and vegetables. Then there were trees that grew different fruits and nuts, and vines that had berries. They also owned different farm animals, that they used for dairy and meat, as Teddy required meat due to his werewolf heritage. All of these were warded to keep the creatures away from them. It meant that Teddy and Octavia had a self sufficient property.

Alongside the chickens, cows and lambs, they also had their magical creatures, which they had brought from their original life, where Octavia was known as The-Girl-Who-Lived and Teddy Peverell was Teddy Lupin. Some were creatures they had saved over the course of 150 years on Earth and bonded with, and others that were gifted from the Scamander family and the Flamels.

They currently had the Basilisk called Jörmungandr that Octavia had come across in her second year of schooling. Unlike what most people think, where they believe she had killed the snake, she had actually bonded with Jörmungandr. Due to being the Heir of Slytherin by conquest, Octavia was able to heed the snake from harming her, and used her venom to kill the horcrux that Tom Riddle resided in. She then asked Jörmungandr if she wanted to stay with her, and the snake shrunk to a small size, and became her familiar.

They also have roughly twenty Bowtruckles, named; Willow, Groot, Ivy, Caspian, Twig, Twix, TeeTee, Bow, Gumbo, Sulli, Pickett Junior, Donut, Rocket, Star, Padfoot, Moony, Prongs, Mischief, Mayhem and Nev. They own, seven, Nifflers, Hermes, Mercury, Tyche, Nike, Hebe, Demeter and Dionysus and two Demiguises, Hypnosis and Nemisis.

They also have, three Horned Serpents, Poseidon, Amphitrite and Bairthy and three Occamy's named; Neptune, Montu and Hestia.

There is a Phoenix called Asclepius, and a Thunderbird, known as Zeus.

There are five Hippogriff's called, Athtar, Eos, Hephaestus, Jupiter and Athena, a heard of five Unicorns named; Apollo, Helios, Flora, Thallo and Persephone and seven Thestrals; Nyx, Thanatos, Erebus, Achlys, Selene, Luna and Hecate. Lastly of the flying creatures, there are three Abraxan's winged horses, Aeolus, Boreas, and Iris.

They also had a Wampus Cat they call Artemis, a Zouwu called Mars, and a Nandu called Ares. They also house a Cerbeus named Hades and two Kneazle's, Aphrodite and Venus.

And finally, they have three dragons, an Antipodean Opaleye called Eclipse, Common Welsh Green named Inferno and a Norwegian Ridgeback called Seraph.

The Thestrals, Dragons, Hippogriff's, Unicorns and Abraxan's horses, generally spent majority of their time outside, however they did have a stable they stay in overnight. Majority of the other creatures go to the top floor of the house at nighttime, whilst the Kneazle's, Phoenix, Basilisk, and Cerbeus are allowed on all floors of the house at all times. The Bowtruckles often go into the house as well, due to the plants that are everywhere inside, and the Nifflers often escape with them. The two Demiguises are the only creatures that don't leave the indoor enclosure, due to their ability to turn invisible and their sneaky personality. They are lucky however, that the wards surrounding the ten miles length wise by five miles from river to forest, keeps the creatures inside, and stops them from being able to escape, for their own protection. They were also able to update the wards, so whatever darkness was floating through the forest, causing the creatures to feel sick, and both Teddy and Octavia to feel magically depleted, was kept outside the wards. This meant that the eight miles of forest land that tue wards covered was free of the darkness that caused these feelings. They also set up specific wards for certain creatures, so the temperature and wildlife they require is specific, and the creatures that may attack others are separated when required.

It keeps both Octavia and Teddy and their five house elves, Lilly, Mindy, Kreacher, Twirly, Zipper and Dipsy busy. Kreacher, who had been apart of the Black family for generations was the head house elf. When Octavia and Teddy decided to leave London, he followed them, and continued doing so for centuries. Due to the large amount of magic that Octavia had, as well as the different family titles, Kreacher is able to live a long life, and does not want to leave either Octavia or Teddy, regardless of where they go. Lilly is in charge of household duties, such as cleaning and washing, Mindy is in the kitchen, Twirly is in the garden and looks after the farm animals, Dipsy is in charge of seamstress work and finally Zipper is in charge of the magical creatures. They decided to join, Octavia, Kreacher and Teddy when they moved. All the house elves are given days off, and uniforms, however they all refused any forms of payment.

When they left their current world, Octavia cleared out all the vaults in the Le-Fray, Black, Potter, Lupin, Peverell and Slytherin names. These included the Galleons, Sickles and Knuts. They also took all the jewellery, weaponry, private grimoires, artefacts and any herbology and potion supplies. They then went to all their properties and emptied every single library they had, alongside portraits and any other artefacts regardless of if dark or not. They kept all the properties but had them emptied. Lastly, they sold out five different normal apothecary stores, and three rare apothecaries stores, three different bookstores and three limited edition or rare bookstores. They then went to second hand stores and bought out the books in store, as well as any trunks that had never been opened before.

The books all went to the library, which had secret rooms for the priceless artefacts, grimoires, and then the greenhouses had certain ingredients or plants growing and others stored in the potions room.

When Thanatos granted them moving to Middle Earth, he had all the currency converted to the coins that Middle Earth used, leaving them with, 120,400,100 Gold Coins, 75,400,750 Silver Pennies and 28,900,000 Copper Pennies. They have a secret room in the Basement that can only be opened via blood sacrifice, as well as has five separate wards that only Teddy and Octavia can access. They also had the majority of their wardrobes changed to those that fit in with Middle Earth, including trousers, waistcoats and shirts as well as tunics and shoes that were best for this era. The dresses made were scoop neck, high neck or off the shoulder, often with a corset or waistcoat, and long sleeves. Both Teddy and Octavia had day outfits, evening and formal outfits, and they both had outdoor wear, as well as battle armour or riding leathers, depending on where they were going. Often if they went to the markets, it was to buy fabrics, or ingredients they didn't have, and then Dipsy would create their outfits, as the elves were unable to go to the stores themselves.

They blessed Thanatos when they arrived to their house that he had organised for them, as he had made the transition a lot easier, especially with the house elves having already started unpacking the house.

So far, they had been in Middle Earth for fifty years, and they were settling in nicely.

"Mama," Octavia heard Teddy call from outside. Her head whipped up at the sound of his concerned voice, and immediately she ran to the front of the house where she could see Teddy sitting on top of Athtar his black Hippogriff. Athtar was pawing the ground nervously as Teddy was stroking his neck trying to calm him down.

"What's wrong, Teddy?" Octavia asked concerned before bowing at Athtar and rushing over once she had been bowed too back.

"There is a man in the forest, just outside the wards. He has been hurt badly. There are three arrows in his torso, and he has black veins crawling up his neck. It also looks like he's lost a lot of blood," Teddy explained to Octavia quickly, as she mentally nodded to what he was saying.

"Fly over there, Teddy, and explain to Athtar what happened. We may need him to bring the man to the house. It's too far to walk him. I'll get a bed ready and bring down the wards long enough to get him inside."

As Octavia ran back into the house, Teddy and Athtar flew over to the man, Teddy cringing at the sight in front of him. The man's complexion was greying, and he knew if they didn't help him soon, he would easily die. After explaining to Athtar what they needed to do, he lay down on the ground and patiently waited for Teddy to lift the man up bridal style, Teddy wincing at the groan that came from the man's mouth at the movement. After climbing back on Athtar, Teddy waited for the go ahead from Octavia before directing Athtar back towards the house.

Once they were close enough to the front door, Octavia levitated the man from Teddy's arms and rushed him inside before placing him on a medical bed that she had transfigured one of the couches into. Octavia ripped open the man's shirt, making sure the arrows were not moved, before casting a diagnostic charm over his body.

"Okay, Lilly," she started and with a crack, a small house elf, wearing neat black work attire with the Peverell family crest on the right side of their chest popped into view.

Lilly looked at the man and let out a large gasp. "Mistress, you be helping this man," she demanded, which caused both. Teddy and Octavia to smile at the elf.

"Of course, we are, Lilly," Octavia smiled. "I need you to run to the potions lab, get me two bottles of the antidote to uncommon poisons, two bottles of blood-replenishing potion, and a bottle of skele-grow. I'll also need a bottle of the pain reliving potion, dreamless sleep, and essence of dittany," and with a crack, Lilly was gone.

"Mindy," Octavia called again, and a second elf popped into their sight. "Can you please get me a bowl of warm water, with a cloth to clean this man's chest."

"Yes, Mistress," she said quickly before disappearing.

"Okay, Teddy," Octavia said to her son, as he walked closer. "He has three cracked ribs, a shattered collarbone. His blood stream consists of three quarters poison, but it doesn't state what kind of poison. He's also lost a lot of blood."

"What do we need to do?" He asked quickly, walking to the other side of the unknown man.

"I am going to put him into a magical coma whilst we heal him. We are going to need a fair number of potions, so we don't want his body to shut down. Once he is asleep, we need to remove the arrows, and I need you to cover the wounds with cloths to try and stop too much blood coming out. Then we will give him the potion to cure uncommon poisons. Once he has had that, we will use the essence of dittany on the wounds to close them, before giving him the blood replenishment. After this, I will remove the bones in his collarbone, and give him skele-grow. Then we will need to monitor him for 24 hours. If the black veins aren't gone within an hour, I will give him some more. If they have started retreating, we will continue to monitor. After 24 hours we will do another diagnostic charm to see how he is fairing. We also need to make sure he doesn't move before his collarbone is regrown, we don't want it to heal incorrectly."

As Teddy nodded, both Lilly and Mindy returned with what Octavia requested.

"Ready son?" At Teddy's nod of acknowledgment, Octavia muttered Latin under her breath as she placed her hand on the man's forehead, and then turned to Teddy and nodded.

At once, all three arrows were removed from the man's torso, and Teddy grabbed a cloth to cover the wounds. Octavia grabbed the first potion and opened the man's mouth, pouring the liquid inside, before having Teddy remove the cloth from the man's torso. She then took the same potion and poured a small amount into each of the man's wounds, watching his face carefully to make sure he wasn't showing signs of pain. As nothing showed, she then grabbed the bottle of dittany and pulled out the dropper, putting three drops on each wound, watching it sizzle and burn before the wounds began to close. Once they were shut, she let out a quick sigh of relief before grabbing the bottle of blood replenishment, and poured it into his mouth, gently massaging his throat, coaxing him to swallow.

She then ran to his other side, and quietly muttered, "Ossio Dispersimus," holding her hand over the shattered collarbone. She and Teddy watched as the collarbone vanished, and Teddy gently gave the man the skele-grow.

Once all this was completed, both Teddy and she slumped back in relief. It had been a long time since she and Teddy had to heal someone other than themselves. Granted it had been a long time since either of them have come into contact with someone other than the two of them, their creatures, the five house elves that work on the property and the occasional market stall owner. Whenever they had left their property, to travel around Middle Earth, they had always warded where they stayed, to keep themselves hidden and when required they used either the invisibility cloak, or a disillusionment charm.

It was surprising that Teddy did not request to visit the towns and realms within Middle Earth. No matter how many times Octavia had offered, he declined stating he was happy just conversing at home with his mum and their creatures. He knew what Octavia went through whilst at school and after the war was finished, and knew she was cautious around people and getting close to anyone.

He was curious to see how everything went after the man woke up.

For now, all they could do was sit and wait.
