Talking
“Well?” Snape worried, “What happened?”
“Well…” Blaise looked away, feeling guilty for not realizing that something was wrong earlier.
“We may as well just show you,” Draco sighed, pulling out a letter from his pocket. Snape took it from him, inspecting the various drawings. They seemed to be very violent. He wondered if Dazai drew them.
Reading the letter (see last chapter for the letter), his eyes widened, “This matter will be taken care of immediately. Please stay silent about this for now, I’ll be taking care of it.” Shoving the letter in his pocket, the professor hurried down the hall. To the headmaster's place, the boys presumed.
Once Snape arrived to see the headmaster, they sat on opposite sides of Dumbledore’s desk.
“What is so urgent?” He asked, hiding his annoyance. He had been sorting out very important matters, and he disliked that he’d been interrupted, and by one of his most important professors, too. He thought he knew better.
“I’m very sorry to disturb you, but we have a serious matter on our hands.”
“Tell me about this serious matter, then.”
“Our student— Dazai, he left a letter behind when he left. He might have been asking for help because the letter isn’t… pretty. It explains why Dazai acts the way he does, flinching when being touched, etcetera. I’ll show you it.” Snape reached into his pocket and pulled out a small letter. It was addressed the Dazai. After he set it on the table, Dumbledore picked it up and opened it, starting to read.
Once he was finished he said, “Ah. This is a very important matter, I’m afraid. It seems he’s being abused by his father. And that his father isn’t who we thought he’d be.”
Snape nodded, “Seems so. What should we do about this? We have to help him.”
“I believe I have worse matters to attend to. I’ll take care of this after.”
Snape snapped, “What could be worse than abuse?!”
“Please calm down,” Dumbledore frowned.
He had never seen Snape care so much about his students— or rather, student. It had become obvious Severus got attached. And to their most problematic student too? Albus sighed.
“Fine,” The professor decided, “I’ll do something about it myself.”
“Do your best, then.” The man would not listen if he said no. Dumbledore pinched the bridge of his nose as Snape did often, “Oh, and one more thing.”
Before the man could exit out the door, he turned around to face the other again, “Hm?”
“If you go back to Yokohama, please do try to get information about Mr. Dazai.
He nodded, “I will.”
