Chapter 1
Four third-year Gryffindors, known as the marauders, were currently walking into the DADA classroom with bright smiles and high spirits.
Sirius Black, the group's resident 'bad-boy' and 'black sheep'- though, some argue that he should be called the 'white sheep' due to his infamous last name, Black, slings his arm around his friend James Potter's shoulder and grins.
"So lads, what d'ya think today's challenge is? Fighting dragons? Defeating centaurs-" he turns to Peter with a wide smile, "-Facing.. spiders?!"
The boys burst out in laughter as Peter quickly sputters. "S-Sirius that's not funny! You know I'm deathly afraid of those retched things!"
Sirius chuckles. "Just joking Peter, I'll leave you alone."
Remus smirks before saying, "I reckon that we will be facing hippogriffs. Deadly creatures, them are."
Almost immediately, Sirius gasps dramatically and starts sputtering and shaking almost like Peter was, and the boys burst out laughing at him. "Remus you did not! I hate hippogriffs!"
"Dramatic lot, you are."
They turn to face Lily Evans, who has her hands on her hips.
James turns red, and puts on his coolest bad-boy face. "Ah, what's up Evans?" He says, making a terrible show of leaning on the desk, then tripping and falling to the ground.
Lily rolls her eyes, and returns to her friends. "Blubbering idiots, those are," she mutters, as her friends giggle.
As James is about to start trying to save his dignity, the teacher, Professor Kiltin, finally speaks up.
"Okay, third years! This is an exciting day to teach, it is!"

Boggarts.
Sirius was terrified.
He knew exactly what his boggart would be. It would be his dearest Maman.
What hurt though, was that he knew it might be Regulus' boggart as well.
He and Regulus shared a glance, fear in their eyes. Sirius nodded at him, saying with his eyes, I will go before you, do not worry.
Regulus nodded back, and quickly schooled his emotions to a blank mask.
"Okay students! Can i get a volunteer to go first?"
James bravely raised his hand, and Sirius was not surprised. "Alright Mr. Potter, Come up here. Everyone line up behind him."
The students pushed and shove, and Sirius was jostled around. It finally stopped, and his heart dropped when he realized that he was near the front with Remus and Peter.
"Alright, Siri?" Remus whispered, nudging him.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm alright."
"Okay.."
"Yep. Totally good."
"For sure"
"uh-huh"
"oka-"
They were cut off by James shouting, "Riddikulus!"
"Brilliant, Mr. Potter! Alright, who's next?"
Peter stepped forward, gulping loudly. Some of the Slytherins were sniggering at him, but a glare from Sirius and Remus quickly had them stopping.
Peter squeaked as the boggart twisted and warped until finally becoming a giant spider. He backed away as it crawled slowly towards him.
"C'mon Pete, remember the spell." Remus encouraged from his side.
"R-Riddikulus!" Peter shouted, and the spider turned into a ball of cheese, slowly rolling around. The students giggled as it grew a clown nose and rainbow afro.
"Alright! Who's next.. Mr. Black!"
Sirius gulped and tried to put on his best brave face. He turned and made split-second eye contact with his twin brother, before turning back and facing his boggart as it spiraled and warped until finally settling on a shape.
His mother.
There were some gasps and mutters of confusion, but Sirius paid no mind to them. He was stuck in place. His mother shouldn't be here right now- he was at Hogwarts, she was at home- why is she here why is she here-
"Oh mon fils, my star, what have you done?"
"M-Maman?"
"How could you.. Vous avez tout gâché. Mon fils, mon beau garçon, une telle honte."
you ruined everything. my son, my beautiful boy. such a shame.
Sirius shakes his head. He didn't like disappointing his Maman, but it was all that he seemed to do.
"M-Mama-"
"Do not stutter! Blacks ne pas marmonner! You filthy child, so unworthy of my love. Of Regulus' love. You make me ashamed of myself, Sirius. I failed you."
blacks do not mutter or mumble!
"Siri you know that's not true, shes not real grande frère." He heard Regulus say, a comforting hand on his shoulder.
Tears were freely streaming down his face. "B-But Maman said-"
"Mother is not here right now. You are facing a boggart, Siri. Say the spell. Riddikulus."
Sirius took a shuddering breath, and did something he never wanted to do. He held his wand to his mother.
"R-Riddikulus!"
Walburga turned into a pathetic ballon. Flying around a bit as it ran out of air, landing on the ground.
