INT. HELICARRIER HALLWAY � NIGHT
DOZENS of SHIELD POLICE escort Loki, who is in handcuffs, smiling. As they pass the HELICARRIER LAB, Banner stops working on the CHITAURI SCEPTER and looks up. Loki eyes him as he walks, nodding and smiling. BANNER rubs his head.
"That's just creepy," one of the Ravenclaw students comments.
Loki grins slightly. He may hate how he was mind controlled, but he did enjoy making people uncomfortable.
INT. HELICARRIER DETENTION SECTION � NIGHT
Loki is now free from his cuffs and is contained in a LARGE GLASS CELL held by HYDRAULIC RIGS.
Fury walks up the control panel of the cell.
NICK FURY
In case it's unclear. You try to escape. You so much as scratch that glass.
Fury presses a button which OPENS UP a HATCH underneath Loki's cell. Loki peers as much as he can from the glass. Without seeing, the sounds of GUSTING WIND would make man shit his pants. Not a god, though.
"Is that really necessary?" James Potter asks.
"Some would say yes, others would say no," Natasha replies.
"Most would say yes, when it should be no," Nikita grumbles. "Держать людей взаперти в клетках, пытаясь их контролировать. Придурки."
(Keeping people locked up in cages, trying to control them. Assholes).
Bucky, Natasha and Clint all murmur their agreements at what she said in Russian. Nikita, Bucky and Natasha all knowing and understanding how it feels to be trapped and controlled.
Everyone else looked over at the Russian girl almost as if expecting an explanation, however she and the others all pointedly ignore them.
NICK FURY
Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?!
Fury closes the hatch. Points at Loki.
NICK FURY
Ant.
Then points at the button which would drop Loki into the steel trap.
NICK FURY
Boot.
Nikita nudges Loki before tapping her head.
Nikita: I sometimes don't understand the hype about Fury. He does nothing except give orders and expect everyone else to fulfil them. I understand he's the leader, but honestly, what could he do.
Loki: I understand your frustration, little one. He is quite arrogant.
Nikita: After my last mission he got so obsessed with the Avengers and stopped caring for me. I don't like him, Loki. I know he's a spy, the head of spies, but he's manipulative and controlling. I want out. Can you, me, Reggie and Bucky just run away somewhere and live peacefully?
Loki: I'd love nothing more, sister.
After, Nikita's little rant she sighed and placed her head on Loki's shoulder. Sometimes she feels like he understands her more than anyone else. When she needs a pointless rant he's always there. She is eternally grateful.
LOKI (SMIRKING)
It's an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me.
NICK FURY
Built for something a lot stronger than you.
LOKI
Oh, I've heard.
Loki looks into the camera.
"Does no one else see the manipulation that's already started?" Sam asks the Avengers.
"We were too busy trying to be a team but not knowing how to be a team because we all met that one single day and were expected to be perfect even with multiple alpha personalities clashing," drawls Nikita.
Tony, Steve, Thor and Natasha all look down slightly ashamed. They recognised that Nikita was the only one that was right throughout the entire fight but no one listened to her properly.
INT. BRIEFING ROOM � CONTINUOUS
The others watch on the monitor Loki getting interrogated.
Banner looks at the monitor, intently.
INT. HELICARRIER DETENTION SECTION � CONTINUOUS
LOKI
The mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?
NICK FURY
How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control.
"Our world, Fury," Nikita comments annoyed. "You don't own the world, no matter how much you try and control it."
Everyone sat there tense. Some like Steve and Tony can understand how she feels. Getting the same feeling of manipulation, but no one wants to comment further, especially hearing about Nikita's last mission.
Everyone sat in silence waiting to hear what, Nick's reply would be, but the movie started before he could. Instead he sat down scowling. He knew he had ruined the relationship between the two, but that doesn't mean she can disrespect him like that.
FURY
You talk about peace and you kill 'cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did.
LOKI
Ooh. It burns you to come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is.
NICK FURY (SMILING)
Well, you let me know if Real Power wants a magazine or something.
Some people in the room giggle at what Nick just said, but others like Nikita and Loki scowl.
Nikita: He's supposed to be the boss boss but he can't even recognise mind control himself when looking at you and you having the same colour eyes as his agents.
Loki just shakes their head in amusement at Nikita's continuous monologuing and prattling about how much Nick infuriates her.
Fury walks off leaving Loki in his glass cell. Loki looks back at the camera, smirking before suddenly he looks shocked. His eyes flashed green and he stares around the cell. He sits down quickly and shakes his head. Almost as if getting a migraine, he smacks his head as if in pain before his eyes return to the glowing blue.
Nikita: My poor brother. I wish I had been able to help you sooner.
Loki: You helped me more than you'll ever know.
Nikita: Not soon enough
Loki leans over and presses a kiss to her forehead as she sighs at the contact. Reggie looking at the two fondly, whereas the other Avengers look shocked, still confused and astonished at how close the pair were with one another.
INT. BRIEFING ROOM � CONTINUOUS
Steve watches until the monitor goes black. Thor, who didn't even look, just listened, stands there, torn apart. They all just stand there in stunned SILENCE.
Nikita however is seen with a pondering look on her face.
Finally --
BANNER
He really grows on you, doesn't he?
Before anyone can respond.
NIKITA
Hey, what colour are Loki's eyes?
Nobody answers her and they continue talking, causing Nikita to look at them frustrated.
"If only everyone had listened to the little fourteen year old girl, things would have been much different," Nikita spits out.
The original Avengers all look away awkwardly.
"So, Nikita picked up on it so quickly, but his own brother and the director of this organisation SHIELD both couldn't? And everyone dismissed her?" Barty Crouch Jnr asks.
"Looks that way to me," Sam replies. He couldn't understand why no one listened to Nikita. Especially when Fury himself commented earlier to take her seriously. To him it seemed as if she was the most in tune with the situation.
A lot of people around the great hall were seeming to be annoyed for the girl. They could understand in some ways them thinking her to be inexperienced due to her age, however the complete ignoring was frustrating.
STEVE
Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play?
THOR
He has an army called the Chitauri.
They're not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract.
STEVE (SERIOUSLY)
An army? From outer space?
"No shit," Evan chuckles.
"Language," Tony and Natasha say simultaneously.
BANNER
So he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for.
THOR
Selvig?
BANNER
He's an astrophysicist.
THOR
He's a friend.
"Technically he's still an astrophysicist," Bruce teases Thor.
NATASHA
Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours.
Natasha looks down after feeling a hand close around hers. She looks up and see's Nikita staring straight ahead, but smiles slightly when she feels a squeeze on her hand.
"Don't say a word," Natasha threatens Clint.
"You don't need an ego boost about having the assassin's love," Nikita drawls sarcastically, whilst Clint sits there with a pout on his face.
STEVE
I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here.
BANNER
I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him.
NIKITA
I think there is something more to the story.
I think there is something going on in his mind.
Nobody responds to Nikita as Thor starts to talk.
"Watching this back makes me feel like an utter asshole," Natasha comments.
"We really didn't listen to you," Steve says ashamed.
"I'm sorry, Lady Nikita," Thor apologises.
Instead of saying or doing anything, Nikita just waits for the movie to continue. They could apologise all they want, but the ignorance gets worse from here.
She wants them to recognise everything they did.
THOR
Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother.
NATASHA
He killed eighty people in two days.
THOR
He's adopted.
NIKITA (muttering)
That's some real family loyalty
Loki looks away hurt by what Thor said whereas Thor looks towards Loki, almost wishing he would catch his eye.
Loki wasn't aware of all this being said about him, and although he and Thor have somewhat made up since it came out that he was mind controlled, the only people in his corner is his mother Frigga and Nikita.
He wraps an arm around her shoulder pulling her into him to seek comfort.
BANNER
Iridium, what did they need the Iridium for?
TONY
It's a stabilizing agent.
(walks in with Coulson; to COULSON)
I'll fly you there. Keep the love alive.
Means the portal won't collapse on itself, like it did at SHIELD.
"You just love a dramatic entrance don't you," Sirius jokes enjoying Tony's flare for drama.
"He's the kind of Drama," Nikita teases Tony who playfully rolls his eyes at her.
TONY (TO THOR)
No hard feelings, Point Break. You've got a mean swing.
(referring to the Iridium)
Also, it means the portal can open as wide, and stay open as long, as Loki wants.
TONY (TO CREW)
Uh, raise the mid-mast, ship the top sails. That man is playing GALAGA!
Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did.
(covering his eye, looks AROUND)
How does Fury do this?
"Perfect way to divert attention," Moody compliments. "Continue talking and draw their attention away from whatever you have planned to do by consistently changing the topic."
All the Aurors look at Tony and nod in agreement whereas most of the team looks away at being caught out at not noticing, especially Natasha who is one of the best spies in SHIELD.
AGENT MARIA HILL
He turns.
Tony looks around the monitors and places a BUTTON SIZE HACKING IMPLANT under Fury's desk, without but Nikita noticing. She stays quiet, deciding to speak to him later.
"Did you look at my, Nikita or Clint's files?" Natasha asks Tony heatedly.
"Nope, when Nikita noticed and joined me and Bruce in the lab, she pulled me aside and said she didn't care who else I looked at, I had to stay away from us three if he wanted to build any trust with us. She also threatened to cut out my eyeballs."
Natasha and Clint look at Nikita thankfully.
"Thank you, Tony," Clint states, and Natasha smiles in agreement.
TONY
Well, that sounds exhausting. The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. Only major component he still needs is a power source. A high energy density, something to kick start the cube.
"Is anyone understanding this?" A Ravenclaw student asks frustrated. They pride themselves on knowledge and what they are hearing, none of the understand.
A murmur of agreement is heard around the hall.
AGENT MARIA HILL
When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?
TONY
Last night. The packet, Selvig's notes, the Extraction Theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?
STEVE
Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?
NIKITA (boredly )
He's got to heat the cube to a hundredand twenty million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier.
Toni, Natasha, Bruce, Thor and Steve all looked at her in silence.
Nikita looked up from her nails and arched her eyebrows.
NIKITA
Sue me, I read.
Chuckles are heard around the Great Hall.
"Reggie got himself a smart girlfriend," Barty teases looking at the pair. Nikita just turns to him and sticks out her tongue before playfully flipping him off.
"Sometimes I forget you have such a high IQ," Bruce mentions.
"Probably why no one listens to me. No one seems to take my IQ seriously," Nikita mutters.
TONY
Unless, Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantum tunneling effect.
BANNER
Well, if he could do that he could achieve Heavy Ion Fusion at any reactor on the planet.
TONY
Finally, people who speaks English.
"That's what you call English?" James asks dumbfounded.
"For very smart people who understand engineering and science, yes," Lily replies.
"Do you understand it?"
"I've been at a wizarding school since I was eleven, what do you think?"
STEVE
Is that what just happened?
Tony and Banner shake hands before turning to face Nikita and both giving her a handshake. A glimmer in their eyes shines as the mutual respect for each other shows.
"The Science Bro's," Tony cheers before a cough is heard, people were looking at his pointedly as if to say he was ignoring Nikita.
"What? Nikita is our bro. We also couldn't come up with a better name."
"I love the Science Bro's," Nikita defends Tony and Bruce nods in agreement.
TONY
It's good to meet you, Dr. Banner.
You're work on anti-electron collisions is unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.
I have no idea who you are kid, but I like you.
BANNER (LOOKS DOWN)
Thanks.
Nikita looks at him and smirks before giving a quick wink.
"There is two of them," someone groans.
Tony and Nikita look at each other before laughing. They couldn't be more different if they tried.
NICK FURY (WALKING IN)
Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him.
STEVE
Let's start with that stick of his. It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon.
NICK FURY
I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube. And I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys.
THOR
Monkeys? I do not understand.
"Do you understand now?"
"Lady Nikita made me watch The Wizard of Oz, I am now fully aware of flying monkey's, as well as many other misguardian things, such as pop tarts."
"What are pop tarts," a pureblooded wizard asked the God.
"You don't know what pop tarts are?" He booms, his voice causing many to flinch due to the loudness of his voice.
Many of the students shake there heads, and as Thor begins to explain the movie cut him off before he could start.
STEVE
I do! I understood that reference.
Tony rolls his eyes, while Cap looks proud of himself.
Steve blushes and hides his face in his hands as both Bucky and Sam look at him incredulously.
"Are you serious, punk?"
"I had just come out of the ice, jerk."
TONY
Shall we play, doctor?
BANNER
Let's play some.
TONY
Coming mini assassin?
People giggle at the nickname that Tony had given her, due to not knowing a single thing about her, except that.
As Nikita, Banner and Tony walk out, the GALAGA PLAYER turns ever so discreetly, watches as everyone else disperses and goes back to playing.
"Does that guy still work there?"
"Before SHIELD fell, he was fired."
"We can't have someone like that on the team, especially during intense situations. We need everyone concentration," Nick continues.
"Let's continue watching," Sam suggests and everyone nods.
