INT. QUINJET � DAY
Inside the QUINJET, Steve is sitting down, holding a TABLET, watching the footage of the Hulk's attack on the Army at Culver University.
"Who is that?" Someone said with a slightly scared tone.
"That's our big cuddly green fighting machine," Nikita said, making the Avengers chuckle, and Bruce look at her warmly.
It's true though, Nikita and the Hulk had a bond that nobody could properly explain. She calmed him down, they would have conversations. She could tap into the human side of the Hulk that nobody else could. It helped that being an empath she could help calm him that way.
PILOT
We're about forty minutes out from base, sir.
Agent Coulson stands up from his seat and walks over to Steve.
STEVE
So, this Doctor Banner was trying to replicate the serum that was used on me?
"What serum is he talking about?" Albus asked quickly, his eyes twinkling.
"Science," Bruce replied, whilst Loki, Wanda and Nikita sneered at Albus, having read his thoughts.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
A lot of people were. You were the world's first superhero. Banner thought gamma radiation might hold the key to unlocking Erskine's original formula.
The Hulk roars with fury as he slams a jeep apart.
People in the room jumped scared, and Nikita could only roll her eyes. He was a teddy bear really.
STEVE
Didn't really go his way, did it?
AGENT PHIL COULSON
Not so much. When he's not that thing though, guy's like a Stephen Hawking.
"That smart?" A muggle born asked, looking at Bruce in awe.
Bruce rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment before blushing and replying, "not really but I am quite smart."
"He's being modest," Natasha input and people around the room smiled at the revelation.
Steve looks confused.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
He's like a smart person. I gotta say, it's an honor to meet you, officially.
Steve smiles at Coulson.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
I sort of met you, I mean, I watched you while you were sleeping.
Steve looks down. He stands up, closes his laptop and walks to the side with Coulson following.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
I mean, I was... I was present while you were unconscious from the ice. You know, it's really, it's just a... just a huge honor to have you on board.
"Oh my god," Sirius whispered to James. "That is so awkward."
STEVE
Well, I hope I'm the man for the job.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
Oh, you are. Absolutely. Uh... we've made some modifications to the uniform.
I had a little design input.
STEVE
The uniform? Aren't the stars and stripes a little... old fashioned?
"That's because you are old," Wanda teased, making everyone erupt into laughter and Steve blush embarrassed.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
With everything that's happening, the things that are about to come to light, people might just need a little old fashioned.
Steve takes in Coulson's sentiment.
INT. UNDERGROUND LAB � DAY
Several soldiers under Loki's mind control run around, preparing to infiltrate whatever Loki has planned. Loki sits down, watching Selvig work with a CMS device. Loki meditates, until...
EXT. THRONE ROOM � NIGHT
...the scepter materializes him back into the throne room of THE OTHER, fully armed in his horned helmet and armor. THE OTHER appears from the steps.
THE OTHER
The Chitauri grow restless.
LOKI
Let them go at themselves. I will lead them into glorious battle.
THE OTHER
Battle? Against the meager might of Earth?
LOKI
Glorious, not lengthy. If your force is as formidable as you claim.
THE OTHER
You question us? You question HIM? He, who put the scepter in your hand, who gave you ancient knowledge and new purpose when you were cast out, defeated?
Him? The one that tortured you? Nikita asked Loki telepathically.
Yes, little sister.
I'm going to slit his throat.
Loki just gave her a little grin and she mimicked slashing a throat and closed her eyes and stuck out her tongue pretending to be dead.
LOKI
I was a king! The rightful king of Asgard! Betrayed!
"Loki," Thor said sadly.
"Brother, things are different. I was hurt, I felt overshadowed, I felt second best, but a lot of those thoughts were increased by the mind control and the torture."
Thor ran around and engulfed Loki in a large hug.
"Get off me you oaf," Loki scolded, but you could see him embrace the hug tightly before they separated.
THE OTHER
Your ambition is little, born of childish need. We look beyond the Earth to greater worlds the Tesseract will unveil.
LOKI
You don't have the Tesseract yet.
THE OTHER runs over to attack him, but stops as Loki points his scepter.
LOKI
I don't threaten, but until I open the doors, until your force is mine to command, you are but words.
THE OTHER
You will have your war, Asgardian. If you fail, if the Tesseract is kept from us, there will be no realm, no barren moon, no crevice where he can't find you.
You think you know pain? He will make you long for something as sweet as pain.
THE OTHER places his hand on Loki's head and transports him back to Earth. Loki looks around, terrified before his eyes glowed blue and his smile turned menacing.
"See guys," Nikita said as if the answer was obvious. "Sign one of mind control and torture. 'He will make you long for something as sweet as pain.' Sign two, the change of look. Sign three, the change of eye colour."
Thor just looked down. All he could think was what would have happened if he didn't push Loki off the bifrost. If he had noticed the changes when fighting Loki. He knew his brother and knew as mad as he was he wouldn't do this.
The others all looked slightly embarrassed. Granted she had the power of telepathy, so could see and understand things a lot quicker than them, but she's basically saying, I told you so.
EXT. HELICARRIER LANDING STRIP � DAY
The QUINJET lands down a MASSIVE BATTLESHIP known as the HELICARRIER. It has two runways. One with direct access to a hangar at the rear is aligned along the spine of the vessel.
Agent Coulson and Steve walk down the ramp, meeting up with Natasha.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
Agent Romanoff. Captain Rogers.
STEVE
Ma'am?
"Don't ever call me, ma'am again."
NATASHA
Hi.
(TO COULSON)
They need you on the bridge. Face time.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
Is Niki in there yet?
"Where were you?" Someone asked.
Nikita, Natasha, Fury and Maria laughed whereas Steve and Bruce just grimaced.
"Keep watching, kid," Natasha said with a small giggle.
Natasha shook her head, and Coulson grimaced before turning to Steve.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
See you there.
Agent Coulson walks away leaving Steve with Natasha, walking towards the railing of the ship.
Before Steve could question the interaction between Phil and Natasha, Natasha started speaking.
NATASHA
There was quite the buzz around here, finding you in the ice. I thought Coulson was gonna swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?
STEVE
Trading cards?
NATASHA
They're vintage, he's very proud.
Multiple people giggled at this and Steve just looked around confused.
"She called you vintage, punk," Bucky said chuckling.
"We're the same age, jerk."
"Papa's not vintage, Steve. He just looks amazing for his age," Nikita said teasingly and fist bumped Bucky before they both stuck their tongues out at Steve, ignoring the look on his face.
Without realizing, Banner doesn't notice them walking as he is nervous as hell. He moves around as people keep walking in his way.
STEVE
Dr. Banner.
Steve walks up to Banner and shakes his hands.
BANNER
Oh, yeah. Hi. They told me you'd be coming.
STEVE
Word is you can find the cube.
BANNER
Is that the only word on me?
STEVE
Only word I care about.
Bruce smiled at this. He liked that when first meeting Steve this was his opinion, however, as hard as it was to begin with, he found that Tony was one of the main people that openly never worried about the Hulk and always believed in him. Him and Nikita changed his thought process a lot.
BANNER (takes in the sentiment)
Must be strange for you, all of this.
STEVE
Well, this is actually kind of familiar.
NATASHA
Gentlemen, you may wanna step inside in a minute. It's gonna get a little hard to breath.
Suddenly the HELICARRIER starts SHAKING as it prepares to fly "sail."
STEVE
Is this is a submarine?
"What's a submarine," a pureblood wizard asked.
The Avengers all looked at each other confused.
"You don't know?"
A resounding no was heard, and Tony sighed. "It's a machine that goes underwater and you can travel in it."
BANNER
Really? They wanted me in a submerged pressurized metal container?
They both move closer to the edge of the HELICARRIER. FOUR HUGE LIFT FANS MOUNTED ON THE SIDES STARTS TO LIFT INTO THE AIR IN VTOL FLIGHT.
"Holy shit," Remus cursed.
Steve watches in AWE as Banner smiles.
BANNER
OH, NO. THIS IS MUCH WORSE.
INT. HELICARRIER BRIDGE � DAY
The doors part and we enter THE BRIDGE OF THE SHIP � a flurry of activity � dozens of agents sit in front of their VIEWSCREENS.
Agent Hill shouts her instructs to leave. Turns to NICK FURY, who is at the command chair.
AGENT MARIA HILL
We're at lock, sir.
NICK FURY
Good. Let's vanish.
EXT. SKY
The HELICARRIER rises high into the heavens. Suddenly, the entire ship is covered in reflecting mirrors, which then camouflages in the sky.
"That is incredible," someone breathed.
"And you do that with no magic?" Someone confirmed.
"That's right. It's all science, engineering, building, you get the idea."
There were some confused looks but nobody could ask anything further because the movie continued.
INT. HELICARRIER BRIDGE � CONTINUOUS
Steve and Banner walk through the glorious, gleaming bridge, taking his position at the SCIENCE CONSOLE.
NICK FURY
Gentlemen.
Steve gives Fury 10 bucks, referring to his earlier statement about never being surprised again. Fury walks over Banner and extends his hand. Banner, reluctantly shakes it.
"Never bet against Nick and Niki," Clint sighed. "The double threat."
NICK FURY
Doctor, thank you for coming.
BANNER
Thanks for asking nicely. So, uh... how long am I staying?
NICK FURY
Once we get our hands on the Tesseract, you're in the clear.
BANNER
Where are you with that?
Nick Fury turns to Agent Coulson to explain, while Natasha Romanoff eyes an image of Clint Barton on a computer screen.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
We're sweeping every wirelessly accessible camera on the planet. Cellphones, laptops. If it's connected to a satellite, it's eyes and ears for us.
"What?"
"Basically we are using cameras, and other electronics, to find where the tesseract is."
NATASHA
That's still not gonna find them in time.
"Nat, cares about me. Nat loves me," Clint started chanting and Nikita and Natasha just sent him withering flares causing him to shut up.
BANNER
You have to narrow the field. How many spectrometers do you have access to?
NICK FURY
How many are there?
BANNER
Call every lab you know, tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll rough out a tracking algorithm based on cluster recognition. At least we could rule out a few places. Do you have somewhere for me to work?
Before anyone could say anything further, Nikita Romanoff entered the HELLICARRIER BRIDGE, wearing her black catsuit. She had blood smeared on the suit, with splatterings on her face.
NIKITA (in Russian)
Dumbass Clint getting taken when I'm on a mission. I don't even get a shower before I rock up here. Fucking Loki and his inconvenient timing to take over the world. All I want is a frosty fruit icypole and a shower. Making me do all this work. Sons of bitches. When we have Clint back he'll be lucky I don't stab him with my sword.
She stopped when she heard a chuckle and whipped her head up to see Natasha trying to cover a smirk and Fury cough to cover the small twitch of her lips.
Steve, Maria and Bruce started laughing.
"So that's what she said," Bruce said laughing harder.
"We were all so confused. This fourteen year old walked onto the ship, covered in blood, muttering in another language before walking out," Steve said giggling, and it set off all the other Avengers and even most of the great hall. It was a sight to see.
Loki and Clint however looked at her with an unheated glare, she just blew them a kiss before muttering, "I still stand by that statement," causing more laughter from those that heard.
Nikita then turned to look at both Steve and Bruce, and sent them both a charming smile.
NIKITA
Mr Rogers, Dr. Banner. Pleasure. I'd shake your hands but well...
Nikita gestures to herself and her hands showing the blood splattering.
NIKITA
Pleasure to meet you both. Natty, Nicky, I'm going to go get clean and changed. Don't go killing anyone without me.
Natasha snorted before recomposing herself and putting on a straight face as Fury rolled his eye.
NICK FURY
That's Nikita Romanoff. She's...
STEVE
Young?
NICK FURY (ignoring Steve)
...unique and just as qualified as Natasha for this mission. Don't underestimate her because of her age. She's just come off an 18 month undercover mission and got the plane straight here. She finished the mission a few months early for this. I expect you to treat her with respect.
Steve just nodded and they all fell silent as they could hear chattering in the background.
NIKITA
PHIL, MY MAIN MAN. HOW'S LIFE?
GREGGG, I hope you haven't been hogging the banana's while I've been gone.
Jessica, I hope nobody has touched my room.
MATTY, WHERE YOU BEEN MAN?
Another eruption of laughter was heard.
"I used sarcasm and humour as a defence mechanism, sue me," Nikita said heatedly but it just made everyone laugh even more.
NICK FURY
As I said, don't underestimate her.
Steve and Bruce just nodded, albeit a little confused.
Fury turned to Natasha.
NICK FURY
Agent Romanoff, would you show Dr.Banner to his laboratory, please.
Natasha nods and walks off, leading Banner down the hall.
NATASHA
You're gonna love it, Doc. We got all the toys.
INT. UNDERGROUND LAB, VACUUM ROOM � DAY
Selvig and several scientists work around the CMS device.
Barton walks in, holding a tablet.
SELVIG
Put it over there!
(TO BARTON)
Where did you find all these people?
CLINT BARTON
SHIELD has not shortage of enemies, Doctor.
"Ain't that the truth," Natasha and Niki grumble. If they didn't, their lives would be so much easier.
Clint just winced at this but Natasha and Nikita just waved him off. They don't blame him or his actions during his time.
He holds up a screen showing information on IRIDIUM.
CLINT BARTON
Is this the stuff you need?
SELVIG
Yeah, iridium. It's found in meteorites, it forms anti-protons. It's very hard to get hold of.
CLINT BARTON
Especially if SHIELD knows you need it.
SELVIG
Well, I didn't know!
(sees Loki coming)
Hey! The Tesseract is showing me so much. It's more than just knowledge, it's... truth.
LOKI
I know. What did it show you, Agent Barton?
CLINT BARTON
My next target.
LOKI
Tell me what you need.
CLINT BARTON
I'll need a distraction.
(grabs his bow)
And an eyeball.
"What the hell could you need an eyeball for?"
"You'll see," Clint said wincing and looking down in shame. Natasha squeezed his hand knowing he'll need support during this time.
INT. HELICARRIER BRIDGE � NIGHT
As they are waiting to locate Loki using satellite facial recognition, Coulson and Steve stand side by side, waiting.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
I mean, if it's not too much trouble.
STEVE
No, no. It's fine.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
It's a vintage set. It took me a couple of years to collect them all. Near mint, slight foxing around the edges, but...
AGENT JASPER SITWELL
We got a hit. Sixty-seven percent match. Weight, cross match, seventy-nine percent.
AGENT PHIL COULSON
Location?
AGENT JASPER SITWELL
Stuttgart, Germany. 28, Konigstrasse.
He's not exactly hiding.
NICK FURY
Captain, White Widow, you're up. Natasha, go get Nikki.
Steve nods and then leaves.
Natasha is seen walking down a hallway before knocking twice and whistling. She heard a whistle back and opened the door.
Nikita was sitting there rebraiding her wet hair, her face looking pale, with heavy bags underneath her eyes.
"I should've noticed then," Natasha whispered to Clint. "I'm so mad at Fury, Clint."
"Me too, Nat. This is our sister we are talking about. We can't go off now, though. We have to wait until we're alone."
"Honestly, I'm not surprised she lost faith in Fury and SHIELD after that."
"Once he heard how long or dangerous it would be, another agent should have been sent. Even if just to listen on comms and stay with so she had support."
"He will be getting an earful tonight, that's for sure," Natasha scowled.
NATASHA
You okay, little sister?
NIKITA
Yeah, Natty. We got to go?
Natasha gave her a look, showing she didn't believe her, but nodded.
NATASHA
Go put on a new suit and meet me at the Bridge. We gotta go now.
EXT. STUTTGART MUSEUM � NIGHT
Loki standing in front of the museum, dressed in 21st century attire and with the scepter, disguised as a cane, walks up to the entrance of the gala.
"Brother," Nikita said, before letting out a wolf whistle. "You look fine in a suit."
Chuckles could be heard and Regulus squeezed her thigh.
"I know he's your brother but keep it up and you'll be punished tonight," he whispered in her ear but then got two smacks on the back of his head by Bucky and Loki.
"I can hear you punk," Bucky growled.
"I can read your thoughts," Loki grumbled.
They both glared at Regulus who gulped and gave them a quick nod feeling Nikita giggling on his lap.
INT. STUTTGART GALA � NIGHT
Inside, a lavished gala with an orchestra playing, is interrupted as the HEAD DOCTOR walks up to the mic.
INT. HELICARRIER, STEVE'S LOCKER � NIGHT
Steve walks into his own locker room. As he approaches to the steel cabinet, the doors already reveal the updated CAPTAIN AMERICA UNIFORM, along with the famous SHIELD. He stands in silence.
EXT. STUTTGART MUSEUM � NIGHT
Outside the museum, GERMAN GUARDS stand in their positions. One of them is standing on top of the roof, scoping. He then hears a THWACK!
He looks down. One of his guards is shot with an ARROW. He raises his gun. He is shot dead by an arrow. Falls down. Barton and his CREW arrive at the doors of the locked science building. Barton looks at the retinal scanner. He pulls out a SHIELD eye scanner instrument.
Everyone is silent as they are watching what is happening.
INT. STUTTGART GALA � NIGHT
Loki looks from above the museum and descends down to where the HEAD DOCTOR is. As he makes it down and near the stage, he FLIPS his cane the other end. The guard there notices him, pulls out his gun, but Loki CLUBS his head in. CHAOS ERUPTS.
Guests begin to leave the museum. Loki grabs the doctor and flips him over onto a marble table of the mythological creatures BILCHSTEIM. Loki pulls out an OPTICAL TORTURE DEVICE. He PLUNGES down the doctor's eye. The doctor TWISTS in pain.
"Ew," someone said grimacing.
"You can hear the squelch," someone else calls out.
Loki just sits there with a little smirk. He may hate what he did but he loves making people uncomfortable.
EXT. STUTTGART MUSEUM � NIGHT
Suddenly, from Barton's instrument, a holographic eye of the head doctor appears and the image of the doctor appears on screen.
The doors to the facility open. Barton walks in and finds in a cabinet, a glass thermos with a cylinder of iridium.
EXT. STUTTGART GALA � NIGHT
As the crowd runs away, Loki slowly walks out and materializes in his gold armor and helmet. The POLICE arrive and with no hesitation, he BLASTS the cars, FLIPPING them over and over.
LOKI
Kneel before me.
The crowd ignores him. Another LOKI appears, blocking the crowd. Loki after Loki appears, they all grin as they raise their spears, encircling the crowd.
LOKI
I said. KNEEL!!!
"You got a kneeling kink?" Tony asks, making everyone start laughing.
"What?" Loki splutters. "You insolent mortal."
Everyone becomes quiet and kneels in front him. Loki embracing his arms out, smiling.
LOKI
Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity, that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel.
As the words resonate to the kneeling crowd, an ELDER GERMAN MAN refuses to kneel and stands, heroic.
ELDER GERMAN MAN
Not to men like you.
"GO OLD GUY," someone cheers out, causing everyone to start cheering for him.
LOKI
There are no men like me.
ELDER GERMAN MAN
There are always men like you.
LOKI
Look to your elder, people. Let him be an example.
Loki is about to execute him with his scepter as the light GLOWS blue. Just as the ENERGY BEAM shoots out, FUCKING CAPTAIN AMERICA arrives! He dives in just in time and BLOCKS the blast with his SHIELD, knocking down Loki on his ass.
"YEAH CAP!"
"That's Captain America's Ass right there," Sam smirks causing Bucky to double over in laughter before realising it was Sam who said it, and sat back up and glared at him.
CAPTAIN AMERICA
You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing.
"History lesson time, am I right," Nikita whispers to Bucky who lets out a snort of amusement.
LOKI (STANDING UP)
The soldier. A man out of time.
CAPTAIN AMERICA
I'm not the one who's out of time.
From above Cap, the QUINJET arrives. A machine gun is pointed towards Loki.
NATASHA
Loki, drop the weapon and stand down.
Like greased lighting, Loki sends a BLAST of blue at the QUINJET. Natasha MANEUVERS it just in time, giving Cap the time to throw his shield at Loki. They both begin to DUKE IT OUT.
Loki FLINGS Cap to the ground. Cap then throws his shield, but Loki SWATS it way. Cap, using all the moves of a boxer, is
KNOCKED down by Loki. Standing over him, he points the scepter's tip on his helmet.
LOKI
Kneel.
"Oh shit," someone calls out.
Before anything further can be said, White Widow appears behind Loki and kicks him in the back of the knee making him falter slightly before she reappears in front of him, kicking him in the stomach. As he was distracted, she used her powers to grab the secptar from his grip, pulling it to her and holding it tightly.
"YEAH, LET'S GO NIKITA," Evan cheers.
"Go kick some Godly ass," Barty yells.
Loki just looks at the smug expression on her face and pokes her in the side making her jolt. She goes to glare at him but he looks away innocently.
INT. QUINJET � NIGHT
NATASHA
The guy's all over the place.
Loki stands back up and two daggers form in his hands. They advance on each other, Loki with his daggers and White Widow with the sceptre. The weapons clang, and they duck, and block each other's attacks. One of Loki's daggers slashes White Widow's thigh and she lets out a hiss before spinning to the side, and using the sceptre herself, shooting a beam at him. As he crashes, she throws the sceptre to the side and uses her magic to hold him down.
"You guys are a force to be reckoned with," Bellatrix compliments.
"Isn't she the psycho?" Nikita asks Regulus.
"She is."
"Should I feel flattered."
"Undecided as of yet."
Nikita just gives her a brief nod, before turning to Loki and holding her hand out for a fist bump.
He breaks out of the magic before teleporting himself and grabbing the sceptre. He shoots it at her, but Cap ducks in front shielding her from the blast, before throwing the shield at him, knocking him back.
INT. QUINJET � NIGHT
Suddenly, AC/DC's "Shoot to Thrill" overdrives the QUINJET'S speakers.
"Such a good song," Sirius says and Tony turns to him nodding.
"I know right. AC/DC is the best. This guy knows what's up."
IRON MAN
Agent Romanoff, did you miss me?
Both Cap, White Widow and Loki look up at the sky. Tony flies over in his IRON MAN suit and blasts Loki right back to the ground. IRON MAN touches down. He stands up and pulls out every piece of weaponry the suit has.
IRON MAN
Make your move, Reindeer Games.
Loki puts up his hands and surrenders.
His armor materialises away.
IRON MAN
Good move.
CAPTAIN AMERICA
Mr. Stark.
IRON MAN
Captain.
NIKITA
Nikita.
All three turn to look at her.
NIKITA
I was feeling left out.
"Only you, Niki," Natasha says chuckling.
"All I could feel was toxic alpha masculinity. I needed to remind them that a woman was present. A woman that kicked some godly ass."
"Kicked is a very strong word..." Loki begins.
"Kicked is a very accurate description. I don't know what you saw, Loki, but I was kicking your ass."
He just chuckles and gives her a kiss on the head.
