An Impossible World

"Hello, I'm Remus. What's your name?" He sits down slowly in the chair across from the smaller boy and Regulus gazes at him warily."I'm Regulus." The little boy looks to Sirius who nods and turns to rummage through the bags in search of the booster. "Are you husbands?"Remus laughs. Sirius loves Remus' laugh, it's gentle and warm, like a summer breeze through your hair."We will be soon. Is that okay with you?" Regulus shrugs and moves around on the chair to lean his chest on the table and fold his arms under his head, legs sticking out and pressing on tip toes against the seat of the chair."I dunno, he said I can think about everything." The little boy reaches out to touch the flowers sitting in a metal vase on the table. The vase was glass before Sirius left, and Regulus is gentle enough for him to wonder if the change was even necessary.Or Regulus is 3, Sirius is 20, Remus is 24 and they all have to build a happy little family together. What happens when Remus's work gets in the way of his families safety?
