"Gaaaaah!" Groaning, Dazai leaned over from behind the couch. Now in their later years at Hogwarts, relationships seemed to be a hotter topic at these ages. He hated hearing all this lovey dovey talk, who needs feelings? Hermione has asked him before if there's a girl he likes, to which he immediately said no. Why go out with a girl from here? As much as he would love a double suicide with a pretty lady, he's schedule is booked up with dealing with this magic vault or his or whatever. Besides, how would he make time for both some girl and Blaise? Blaise is.. well, nevermind.
"What are you grumbling about now, you?" without even looking up, Blaise just knew Dazai seemed to be drained out, "come sit down, I'm gonna get tired from your sighs of annoyance," reading the quibble, it was a new paper that Luna had gifted them. It was filled with actual good info, unlike the daily Prophet. That thing's reputation fell after the 2nd year.
"You know me so well! My Blaise is a genius~" cooing over him as always, Dazai leaped over from behind the couch and sat next to him, moving to lay his head on the man's lap.
"What's this week's paper about?" looking up at Blaise, he could only read the backside of the newspaper. Something about some shop closing up, but it didn't seem even relevant. Some scam apparently got busted.
Flipping the page to the next one, Blaise began to recite a few lines, "just stuff like good deals and small crimes. For example, some creep in the streets." Dazai gave him a nod, staring up into Blaises eyes. Blaise glanced at him, showing him a small smile.
It made Dazai look away and the thoughts of what Hermione had asked him before was returning for whatever non apparent reason. Merlin, all this dating talk is ruining his minds free time. It should pay rent with how much it's invading it! For the last time, he wouldn't be able to manage both Blaise and a girlfriend right now.
"What's eating at you, mate?" feeling Blaise's hand brush Dazai's bang out of his eyes, he snapped out of his thoughts to pay attention to his best friend- borderline work partner, "you seem a bit zoned out there."
"Ehhh, just how everyone's talking about relationships. Don't you think they're too much? there are waaay more important things than dating right now, you know! especially with Vol- the who can't be named guy?" he just seemed like he wanted to complain. Honestly, Blaise found it a bit amusing of how the topic was just annoying him this much.
"I mean, it serves as a pastime, don't you think?" putting down the newspaper on the table, his hands continued to mess with the brown strands of Dazai's hair, "at our age, love is gonna be wanting to blossom."
"Yeah yeah, but Hermione keeps wondering who I wanna ask out for the dance you know?" allowing Blaise as always to touch him, he didn't even have to ask anymore, "how would I possibly manage a girlfriend? I've alot going on. Plus, I already have you!"
"That's very sweet," Blaise commented, finally fixing up the man's messy brown hair, "but wouldn't you wanna get married one day?"
"Why would I? Besides, I don't think the mafia would just allow that out of me~ I'd be too busy and I would probably be a horrible lover and husband."
Blinking, Blaise shook his head, "I'm sure you wouldn't be as horrible as you make it sound. I know when you truly love someone, you'll go out of harm's way to show it and protect them."
"Gahhhh! It was a mistake showing you my weaker sides," huffing, he turned around so that his back would face Blaise, looking like a child who was having a temper tantrum.
"Well.. if you ever want to get married," chuckling, this side of Daza was just- adorable even after all this time, "then do so. If you're not married by the time you're 25, how about this?"
"blah blah blah, enough of this marriage talk! why would I need to get married when I have you to take up my time?" he whined aloud.
"Hey- let me finish speaking, you silly goose," Dazai just smiled to himself from messing with Blaise, the usual.
"If you're not married by the time you're 25, marry me instead."
Oh.
Well- maybe Dazai should've just continued stalling if that's what he was going to say- ahhhhh AHHHH. It's a good thing his back is turned right now cause Merlin Dazai did not know how his face looked right now.
"Oh! interesting!"
Reaching out for Dazais shoulder, Dazai tried to not let Blaise pull him back over. Although, he failed because of his physical position not really helping him out right now.
"Stop hiding, I know you."
Dazai clicked his tongue and huff, tilting away his head- oh, Blaise grabbed it. Man, Blaise was surely.. something. Blaise had him looking right up at him, but looking at Blaise right now just really- what's the word? it's killing him.
It felt like his heart was gonna explode.
"You're gonna keep complaining about managing time with the missus and your best friend, so why not I fulfill both roles?"
"Blaise- I- do you really wanna sign up for that slot? You've seen how bad I can be-"
"And yet I've told you over a million times that I don't care about the bad or good in you."
Dammit, it felt like he was pawned in a game of chess. His face was burning red and Blaise had learned how to get through to Dazai. At a loss for words... he had to forfeit this match.
"..25," he grumbled, "If I'm not married by 25, I'll marry you. Fiiiine. But just know I'm difficult to live with! I don't cook well, I burn water!"
"That's fine, I don't burn water, I'll make sure your stomach is always filled."
"... You are so- I.. man, stop making me at a loss for words!"
A chuckle escaped his fiance, clearly amused at the others 'suffering', "hmm, I can shut your mouth up if you'd prefer that."
Dazai- not an idiot, knew what he indicated. Reaching both of his hands up to cover Blaises mouth, his face felt like it was the color of a tomato, "NO!"
Smiling against Dazais palms, he gleamed at him with a look of fondness, "Okay, later then.”
