I almost got supposedly arrested
Dumbledore POV:
Dumbledore was seated in the Ministry while looking at old and discarded files. He found out from an old worker that the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort or Tom Riddle had some files he carelessly glazed over so the the old wizard scanned there the papers with his half-moon speckles. Dumbledore wasn’t really surprised to come across that Voldemort had a twin sister but it reads that she was shipped to a New York orphanage on her mother’s will. She was named Estelle but that was all the Ministry really had on her. Dumbledore already read that a few decades prior but he only decided to visit Tom because of how he was in London mostly and there was a more lettered files about him but Dumbledore wanted to at least see if Estelle was still alive or at least had children with magical capabilities just so he can try and recruit them to the war effort.
Dumbledore stood from his chair and grabbed his wand while imagining New York as he quickly got apparated to the place.
Percy’s POV:
Percy was arranging the spices in his mom,Sally Jackson’s spice rack while he hummed a certain song. Paul wanted to take Estelle, his little half sister to the park and Percy offered to stay home and help his mom clean around the house. All was going at a steady but peaceful step until there was a knock on the door. Percy peaked out the kitchen and saw his mom open the door to find a rather tall man that looked wise and old with a long white beard but he dressed like the people in Merlin if they were in the 1800’s. He decided to listen in on the conversation because he had a creeping feeling that he was going to be in another charade.
“Hello, Miss Jackson. I must have to apologize for coming into your home at a late hour but I must talk to you about something.” The guy politely said as Percy saw his mom looked suspicious but she decided to let the guy in just to hear him out.
“You can come in but you must excuse the state of the apartment, me and my son were doing cleaning around in it.” Sally gestured to the couch politely but Percy saw for a spilt second that the guy’s calm reaction was shattered the moment his mom mentioned she had a son as he looked surprised but intrigued. Percy did not trust this guy one bit so he decided to conveniently come into the living room to have an excuse to listen on their conversation, he knew his mom could handle the situation but he wanted to be able to ask questions.
“Ah, hello young sir. Your mother and I was about to discuss some topics that I feel are of upmost importance.” The guy said as he took a seat at the armchair and smiled a bit at Percy. “So I have to inform you that there is a world that existed of Wizards and Witches alike. You may not believe me but I can rather demonstrate it so we can get into the topic.” It took Percy all his will power not to burst out laughing or say something that might out him as a demigod, he didn’t know whether being a wizard/witch was its own pantheon or it was a little community or pet world that existed in the Greek one but he and his mom shared a look that meant they had to play dumb.
“Wizards and witches are real….? I’m sorry but I like to see some demonstration at least and before you even ask we don’t even know your name or your place in the so called ‘wizard society’” Sally explained as she narrowed her eyes at the ‘supposed’ wizard guy.
“Of course, miss Jackson. It’s only I give you a demonstration and say my name considering I know your last name.” The guy grabbed a stick- no a wand in his coat and muttered an incarnation that suddenly turned all the lights in the house off, so Percy and his mom knew that the guy was indeed a wizard, but they already knew that from his confession and how used to strange stuff they are. “Also I am Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster at Hogwarts witchcraft and wizardry, order of Merlin, first class.” Dumbledore paused it right there but Percy had a feeling he had more. But when he heard headmaster that’s when Percy gotten an idea on what the guy was here for.
“That’s wonderful and at least strange but why are you exactly here though…” Sally trailed off as she eyed the door and then at the guy with quick glances.
“Your son is shown to have been related to a infamous dark wizard who has been terrorizing then wizarding world but your son has magical capabilities so we want your son to attend Hogwarts to learn magic in Britain.” That’s when Percy got confirmed his suspicion, one the guy wanted him for some sake intent and two he must be pretty high ranking Headmaster to travel to New York and recruit him to Britain but Sally Jackson wasn’t having it.
“I’m sorry but I have to decline, as a concerned mother who’s son was involved in many scandals….that left me worrying if he was okay or even alive at best. Having Percy in another country for who knows how long and using him to go to this school all because of his evil relative seems risky and endangering! And besides I don’t think your wizarding government (if you have one) who take so kindly to my son there considering this so called relation to a dark wizard.” Even though Percy’s mom knew he could take care of himself, she just wanted her son to not be apart of any more wars or godly/mystical politics against his will and that Percy could smile proudly at.
Dumbledore looked to Percy and sighed, he seems to be thinking deeply about something before finally speaking. “Young man, I can sense your mother’s concern but would you like to attend Hogwarts though?” It was an easy answer to say considering the man seems to be persisting the topic more and more, it felt like Dumbledore wanted Percy as merely a bargaining chip or pawn to die for a world he doesn’t even know (don’t get him wrong, loyalty is his fatal flaw but he’s not willing to go into another war with a world he didn’t knew it existed)
“I’m sorry sir but I have to say no on this one.” Percy could have sworn he saw Dumbledore’s face crack something of annoyance which amused Percy a lot but he would stand by his answer proudly.
“You know…the ministry has strict rules when it comes to affiliation to Voldemort and it would be a shame that you and your mom would go to Azkaban because he happened to be related to you two….” The way Dumbledore spoke it made it seem like he was blackmailing Percy and Sally to accept the offer.
“You can’t turn Percy into the wizarding authorities and it’s his right to choose to go or not!” Sally got up from his seat outraged the man would pull such a thing and Percy got into a defensive stance where he subtly hid Riptide in his pocket to uncap it and attack Dumbledore. “You may think he can handle the wizarding authorities but they’ll track him down in New York and be less lenient than I was, so what’s it’s going to be…?” Percy knew that he didn’t have a reason to kill him and if he fought him now then it would give away his demigod status so with unfortunate circumstances he spoke.
“Fine I’ll go to Hogwarts but leave my mom out this…” Percy spoke and Dumbledore smiled in understanding and gave Percy a note to pocket.
“Well then I’m glad we reached an understanding, I’ll pick you up the next day.” Dumbledore did a subtle bow and teleported?…out of the Jackson apartment. It was unbearable silence that kept messing with Percy as he let out a sigh, this is going to be a long adventure he doesn’t even want.
