ACT II

The cold wind air hit her in the face while she looked upon the imposing statue in front of her with disdain. It was night, and a year after the battle of Hogwarts as they had been calling it, when she had heard of the blasted news of the statue in honour of her bravery for what she had done for them, well get rid of dear ‘ol Tom, now truly dead Tom.

Wherever he might be, which is certainly not heaven, or paradise-whatever you call it, well, wherever he might be rotting at in the moment, she hopes he’ll spent a great time being tortured every moment there. Which the only thing she is a bit sad about is that she won’t be the one having fun doing that, that is.

But well, she’ll see him soon enough, seeing as if the ‘dreams’ she had been receiving so far, if you could even call it that…Which it strangely isn’t, nor were they nightmares- they were just strange…encounters? Yes, she would go with that. Encounters where she would meet with a being each time to supposedly discuss her upcoming duties, or whatever that may be…seeing as the being had called it her master, not master. Each thing that had come out of the being’s mouth had been strange, and even more strange…she wasn’t certain if it was maybe her mind making up things, seeing as it hadn’t been the first time she had imagined some messed up things- but this, this strangely had felt real…especially the last meeting she had with the being that had still not given her its name…but she might have know who it was…

Especially by its appearance…

“If I may ask…Why is it that you’re constantly haunting me specifically? Did I mess up my head that badly somehow to conjure you up out of nowhere or?” Hariel then asked in annoyance and disbelief at the sight of meeting the being in her dreams once more.

It, he? Whatever it was, seeing as she wasn’t even sure it was human to begin with…not at all, especially by its appearance. The being, while it looked to be male, she would not dare to presume its gender, for it was above it, it being referred to by human notions…but well, the being looked in one word if she had to explain it: regal.

It was not anything she could have ever imagined, for it looked inhumane, besides the glaring obvious to portray this- it having a pair of the darkest of wings, the colour of shadow-like darkness if you may.

The second being its honey gold eyes that were almost shielded by its long, flowing dark hair. His eyes had been  staring at her without blinking…which truly creeped her out at the beginning, especially with the way it hadn’t said a word to her at all, not one word, nor made any movement which would let her know that it acknowledged her existence at all…it simply stood there as it stood now, enveloped in darkness, frozen in the exact same way as before, but it now speaks to her, and looks at her, acknowledging her existence and many other things.

The first thing being what he had first said to her, which again, had completely taken her by surprise, seeing as she didn’t know what he was talking about, and again- it was frightening, especially by the rasping sound that she had heard. It sounded unnatural, not human at all, more gutteral than anything really…

But well, he had told her that he sensed his mother off her, and many other ‘a great beings’, all said in a monotone way, without it even taking his eyes off her, as before.

That had been the third meeting that she had had with the being, who she now thinks to be…death? It was the only plausible explanation really, and with her luck?

It was bound to happen, especially with history liking to repeat itself and her…well being the last of her bloodline really.

Maybe she was here to repay a debt of some sort which she didn’t have a clue about at all, seeing as again- the stories didn’t tell everything that had truly taken place between the Peverell brothers and Death.

Maybe she had been truly meant for that as she had thought and accepted all along, maybe she was meant to be the last of her line-

“No.” The being then suddenly said, interrupting her quick train of thoughts,

“You are my Mistress.” he then told her, which froze her to the spot.

“...Come again?” She then asked in in confusion.

But well, it was because of that and also because of what he had told her after that dreadful revelation…which had completely shaken her world as she had known it.

Quite literally.

The being’s name was Mors, or originally in Greek: Thanatos.

The personification of Death.

But well, where was she again?

Ah right, that blasted statue.

It didn’t look like her, for it looked all cold_distant and unfeeling... I n humane.

Its cold gaze looked down at her then, which stirred up all things within her, dark things...which she rather did not come out at all, not again. Never again…for she had thought that she had put that part of her away for good, seeing as she was afraid of it, even more so now than before, which she at first had been confused, but grateful about, seeing as it had done her a favour in completing her goals from before, without a thought.

Submerging the world in blood, that is, the blood of her enemies. The filth. Which she had delighted in, well the monster within her. It had at her screamed for more and more, which she had obliged to each and every time. Not once thinking about the consequences that would follow her in the future because of it, when she was all done with enacting its every demand.

She did not even dare to touch her own godson, Teddy, because of it at first (which she had hurt with, she would never forget how his confused look, and then crying and heartbroken gaze, for his aunty Harry did not want to let him hug her-), seeing as she had been imagining him in a puddle of his own blood and gore then, the child from before being utterly unrecognizable, not even ...human, for nothing that was left of him would have shown if it had been human to begin with- which had frightened her to the core.

She would never-

It had taken her weeks until she could, well also because of the pushing of her older cousin, Nymphadora and her other older relatives, and of course; last but not least: Remus… uncle Remus (which she, well they still had to get used to both, but also had delighted in…well after he had been done berating her for her actions last year and all…she vowed to never again be under his disappointed, and betrayed gaze again. For it had really hurt, even if she didn’t regret doing it, for they all were alive in the end. And that was the important thing, which she would do all over again if it meant that it could stay so.), who had helped her the most during the whole period, seeming to understand her predicament, which she realised that he did actually. Seeing as his past had not been different as what she was experiencing.

He helped her find a balance between that side of her, and the one she had thought to be lost. The one thing that had mader her her, just Harry.

  And only Harry.

She now learned that it had always been a part of her, really.

And she was only now realising it, as if a cover had been janked from her gaze at last.

But while she did accept it, she did not want to be confronted with it by the way of the thing infront of her.

Which heralded her as some sort of other being, not human. Never simply human.

A thing which she was seen as now by the whole of the wizarding world, and not simply a now seventeen year old girl who was newly graduated from Hogwarts.

They saw her as the next coming of Merlin, or something more- especially by the way they have been using her name as though in prayer…

She never wanted this.

The only thing she had ever wanted- was to be left alone, to live-

And with a glare she then willed the statue to shatter to dust.

But well, nothing was as simple as she had thought, for the statue completely obliterated in front of her, as though a bomb had been set off on it, each piece flying in every direction but her person.

And when she couldn’t see it in front of her, or any of its remains which would have sugested it ever being there in the first place- then and only then she had then decided to return home, where she had spent all this time, away from the public’s gaze.

Which had been easier to do, especially when she had enacted Andromeda as her Proxy, which she had accepted with grace and honour.

The only one, or thing that had witnessed it all had been a single bird- no, a golden eagle.

Who’s intelligent gaze gleamed upon the spot of the figure that had just left their surroundings, after her show of destruction.
