Questions, and questions
“Oh my, this is getting good!” Ares shouted before he then barked in laughter at the scene playing in front of them, it being of the young witch once again.
She had just gotten out of the dark and dreary looking prison, that while it could be considered rather creepy, it wasn’t as creepy as the whole domain of the Lord of the Underworld’s. But well, as the young witch had decided to make a deal with one of the most closest of followers of the Snakefaced Dark Lord that is, which even Athena coud see merit in, the young witch decided it wasn’t the last of her visit there…
For she had decided to forge an alliance with those soul sucking wraiths, which entailed that she would bring them souls as payment, but oh that wasn’t all, the cherry on the pie being that they could suck out that creature’s soul out of hers as a show of goodwill. How very clever…but dangerous, but she did not seem to be concerned about it in the slightest, which they should have seen coming, seeing as they have seen all that she had done so far, just to seek her vengeance, and Ares loved it all.
But while she seemed to be fine after the whole ordeal, he then frowned at what happened afterwards.
Those blasted old biddies…
“Ooooh this isn’t good, not good at all, right Apollo?” Hermes then furiously whispered to the golden haired god next to him, who had a frozen expression on right now.
“Quiet.” Ares’ father then boomed, seeming to be concerned about the whole ordeal as well, by the way his old man’s eyes were twitching. And looking at his lovely mother, she seemed to notice this as well by the way her lips then thinned into a frown.
‘Ooooh someone was definitely getting it now!’ He thought in amusement, before he then stopped to think about it, and then frowning afterwards, seeing as his mother might put a stop to his amusement if she got into her usual moods, but those were only ever when it was known that his dad had been frolicking around, right?
So he had nothing to worry about for now, which hopefully will stay so! He then thought in vehemence.
“What could this mean, I wonder…” His bird headed sister then wondered aloud, making his roll his eyes then, that uppity-
Hariel felt light for some reason, and then she heard it, or for better lack, she heard nothing, which she frowned at before she cracked her eyes open in confusion.
But she wished she hadn’t, for the place she suddenly found herself in, unsettled her.
It was dark, nothing was around her, nor could she hear anything but her own breathing. You could call the space a void or something other, for nothing seemed to be around her.
“Who comes forth?” A rattling voice then whispered from every corner, It’s voice carried an ancient strength with it, but it seemed as though it had just awakened. Hariel looked everywhere but she couldn’t see anyone in her sight, perturbed by it all, she then readied herself-for what?
“Now, now, young hero , I mean you no harm.” The voice then purred, wanting to put her at ease, but she felt cold by it instead. For she didn’t believe it.
“ Don’t call me that, for I am no hero, and I will be the judge of that. Now show yourself.” She then hissed, her eyes still looking around the void, not daring to put her back towards it.
The thing then chuckled, the sound a rumbling around the space she was in.
“My, aren’t you an intriguing thing?” It said, like a whisper directly in her ear, but looking nextto her, there was nothing, before she then felt herself standing on something suddenly, her feet were bare. It was something grainy… sand ?
Looking down she then noticed a tiny patch of sand beneath her, before it then started to spread in front of her, turning into a rather large form then, a man? No.
It wasn’t a man, for no man could do this, if this wasn’t a dream that is.
For she knew the difference between her normal dreams, and those she shared with that snake faced bastard, but this? This was something entirely other…
She watched as the figure then finally stopped forming, but it did not seem to be finished, for it was missing chunks...It looked like a patchwork of forms sewn into one.
But the most unnerving thing about the being, was its molten golden eyes staring into her own eyes.
She was right.
The thing was ancient.
“My, how rude, I am no thing. But no matter, we will get to that later, for I wish to know what you are…You do not reek like a demi-god, nor do you truly reek like a legacy might, but there seem to be something else in you, while you are powerful for a mortal…you reek of others. The greatest being, that of my daughters…most of all, my favoured. The one who betrayed me in the end.” He then spat, before he started to make his way towards her, his eyes were swirling with fury then, which Hariel took a step back at, before she then stood her own ground against this entirely other being, and shielded her mind from him. Tilting her chin in front of her, she then readied herself for a fight, for it always seemed to be her fate.
She couldn’t be simply left alone…
“ I loved her , you know, I would have let her take her mother’s place beside me, if only she had been truly loyal to me. But no, she chose those blasted spawns of mine over me in the end!” It then roared, not once stopping his prowl over to her.
But he then stopped for a moment. He examined her closely then, his gaze full of a strange curiosity.
“You look like her, your eyes …” It then said in a trance, seeming to be thinking of something then, the past perhaps?
But Hariel did not put her guard down in front of the being.
“... Why did you betray me?” It then moaned in despair, its form slumping in front of her, before the being then seemed to be back in the present, straightening its form to its full height, its (his?) gaze then hardened.
“She will get her dues in the end, they all will.” He then growled, speaking in an ancient tongue at the end, that Hariel could surprisingly understand. He then looked at her then, his gaze holding a strange glint within them then, which made the hairs on her neck stand upright.
But before anything else could happen, she then felt herself waking up.
“Kreacher can take care of his own Mistress just fine, Mistress’ Mutt .” She then heard Kreacher coldly say to someone, Remus? Before she then opened her eyes to the sight in front of her, which would have been comical any other time, if she weren’t confined in her bed that is.
She was in the bed from before, the bed in the room that was originally hers, which had been Regulus’ room before…and hearing a familiar hoot, and a familiar weight on her shoulder then, Hedwig then butted her face in greeting. All the while she petted her hair with her beak as she would usually do, to offer her comfort, or to herself in this instance.
‘What happened? ’ She then wondered in confusion, before her hand reached to gently pet Hedweg in return. The movement seeming to catch the other presences in the room then.
“Harry!” “Mistress!” Both Remus and Kreacher then simultaneously said in relief at the sight of her awak state, which she frowned even more over.
“What happened?” She then simply asked, which made Kreacher then look at her in distress, his eyes were getting rather wet then, Hariel noticed in panic.
“Kreacher, what-” She started to say in alarm, before Remus then curtly intervened.
“You were unconscious for over three days…And from the diagnostic spell I did on you, you seemed to have consumed rather large dosises of Pepper-up potions…do you even know what that could have done to you? Any normal person could have died by drinking so much of it, it’s a wonder you’re still breathing and functioning right now. Why did you do this, Harry, you could have died, did you want to kill yourself?!” He then thundered at the end, his form let off waves full of distress.
Kreacher then cried, the sound of it made her heart break even more then.
“Kreacher, that isn’t true. I didn’t-” She then started to soothingly say, before she was once more interrupted by Remus, who then started to walk closer towards her.
“Then why?” He then said, trying to contain his own tears at bay then. And finally looking at the both of them, they looked rather haggard…which made her feel guilt at the sight of them.
“I-I…I don’t know.” She then said, her head turning down to look at her covers.
“Don’t lie, Hariel. Not to us. ” Remus then begged, which Hariel bit her lip at in distress, before she then turned her gaze at him.
“I couldn’t chance it. Not now, when I need to be completely focused on my goal.”
“ Does this goal of yours have anything to do with the death of some of Voldemorts inner circle? Do not lie to me, Hariel Carina-Lillian Potter-Black.” Remus then hissed, his eyes were entirely focused upon her blank ones.
“It does.” She then admitted, before she shook her head at him.
“You won’t stop me from reaching it, Remus, no one will .” She then said in a definite tone, which shocked him and all of the other inhabitants of the room.
“You are a child! You shouldn’t be doing any of this, I promised to protect you-” Remus then shouted in despair and anger, that she felt she had to do this alone.
“I AM NOT A CHILD!” She then shouted at him in fury then, before she then quieted her tone. “I have never been a child, Remus, not really…That girl you remember from before is gone. ”
“...No…” Remus then said, while he shook his head, his gaze was shattered then when he looked at her. “Don’t say that. You are still the Harry I know, your parents and Sirius would have never wanted this for you, neither should you ever think that it is your duty to do this, Harry.”
“But it is!” She then shouted, her eyes were wild then.
“You do not understand, Remus, I have no choice.”
He then furiously shook his head at her, “Dumbledore-” he started to say before Hariel then vehemently interrupted him.
“ Is going to do nothing.” She hissed, shocking Remus into silence then.
“I know you feel loyalty towards him, as though you owe him everything for what he might have done for you in the past, but Remus, he isn’t the man you think he is. That man would have me go to my own death if it means his plans are fulfilled, for I am but a mere pawn to him, a pawn he would have prepared for slaughter! He knew! ” She then shouted, her tone full of emotion then, which struck Remus to his core, who could only look at her with wide eyes.
“I only just found out, Remus, but he knew for years . I have harboured the soul piece of Voldemort within me from the moment he threw the killing curse at me.”
They were sipping on their teas now, the both of them now sitting upon her bed in thought.
“You’re not going to do this alone, no, and if you aren’t comfortable with him being in the know, then don’t be, for I am not going to tell him anything. Not after what you have told me. I don’t know why you think I would put him above you, Hariel, but know that I would have never, for you are my full priority, especially now.” Remus then quietly said, his gaze loftly upon his own cup, before he turned it towards her surprised one in seriousness.
“You will always be more important to me-” cub, he wanted to say, but he stopped himself from uttering it then.
“Now tell me what I can do to help you, you do not have to do it alone, not now, not ever.” He then fiercely said, his eyes flashed golden then, which Hariel stopped herself from reacting to, seeing as they reminded her of another being’s gaze then, from the strange dream-not-dream. But Remus’ eyes were different, for the colour wasn’t the same, nor were they as cold, no, they were fierce and warm when he looked at her.
So, Hariel could only then let him in on her plans.
