Soaring above the quidditch field has always given you a rush in your blood. Seeing all the small people who are your friends in the stand makes your heart fill with house pride.
All the students wearing blue and silver on the home side and the rest wearing red and gold.
Suddenly a bludger wizzes past your head and your snapped out of your thoughts chasing after it.
In the end Gryffindor won but only because Harry freaking Potter caught the snitch like always.
“Good game guys.” You say your feet hitting the floor as the rest of the team lands. “We played well had they not caught the snitch we would have had it in the bag.” You say high-fiving Cho.
“I’ll be faster next time I promise.” Cho says determination in her eyes.
“Ah it’s fine you know Potter. He just has to show off at everything.” You chuckle at Roger’s words.
“Well nice flying you guys I expect to see you on Tuesday early morning.” You say walking off to the changing rooms.

On your way back to the common room you see Cedric and Cho snogging against the wall. “Get a room you two.” You shout mime gagging as Cho flips the bird at you.
Getting to the common room it asks the riddle as usual “I have cites, but no houses. I have mountains, but no trees. I have water, but no fish. What am I?”
As you think about it for a moment before you get it “A map.”
The common room swings open and music can be heard from the middle of the common room.
“What the-“ your cut off by your friend Mack stumbling over to you.
“This is so much fun!” He shouts at you and you cover your ears.
“What’s going on?” You mutter. If you wanted a party you would have gone to the Gryffindor common room for their quidditch celebration.
“They ran out of fire whiskey and they heard it was an easy brew and came here.” Mack explains pointing to the cauldrons of what appear to be fire whiskey.
“That’s just wonderful.” You grumble hoping to not see the captain of the quidditch team. Of course there is no such luck and you seem him relaxed on a love seat talking to the twins.
It’s as if he can sense your eyes on him and he immediately looks your way. Your eyes lock for a moment before you turn away surveying the rest of the room.
“Looking for a certain quidditch captain?” Mack teases waggling his eyes brows at you in a joking way.
“What me? Nooo.” You say walking towards the middle of the common room where the cauldrons and music is.
You fill up a cup with fire whiskey and are about to down it when you feel eyes on you. You turn around and see Oliver staring at you.
He walks towards you a drink cup still in his hand and you quickly down yours for courage. You guys have always felt a mutual attraction but both were too stubborn to act on it.
Suddenly you’re not sure if that’s the case with the way he’s looking at you.
“Y/n.” He says your name in greeting his eyes smoldering.
“Oli.” You nod and he huffs at you.
“How many times have I told you not to call me that.” He says subtly slipping closer to you until you guys are practically a breath apart.
“You know I can’t recall at this point in time… Oli” You tease tilting your head slightly up to look at him.
He groans before putting his drink down and gripping your hips pulling you flat against him. “I‘ll make sure the only thing you can remember by the end of the night is how to scream my name.” He says before he presses his lips against your collarbone trailing them upwards.
You gasp slightly at the contact. “Oliver. W-what are you doing.” You whisper and he groans slightly.
“We’ve both felt this between us.” He states and you nod “I’m giving it one night and we can get this out of our system.”
The cup in your hand finally drops and you move to clean it up but he pulls you back. “Oliver.” You groan as he nips your ear.
“Cmon sweet pea just one night.” He murmurs his voice vibrating against your neck.
“Just one night.” You finally agree and take his hand and pull him up to your dorm room. He follows without complaint and you don’t notice anyone’s eyes except his, but everyone is watching two of the biggest rivals give in to long known tension.

You come too drowsily curling closer to your pillow. It’s so warm and comfy and it’s moving. Wait why is it moving pillows don’t move.
You open your eyes only to be met with a defined chest with very little chest hair. Your eyes trail upwards to see Oliver Wood’s sleeping face. Oliver Wood your biggest rival. The same Oliver Wood is sleeping peacefully underneath you and the event from yesterday quickly is recalled.
“Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god.” You repeat your voice getting shriller and Oliver’s eyes pop open. He grins lazily at you.
“Morning sweet pea.” He says pulling you back to his chest.
“Oliver d-do you know what we did last night.” You say panicked you can’t believe you shagged your rival.
He strokes your hair gently. “Yes I recall. Quite vividly if I might add.”
You huff rolling off him “I can’t believe I did that. And I wasn’t even that drunk.” You get up and find your clothes scattered on the floor near your trunk.
“What can I say? It’s my irresistibly good looks.”
You chuck a shoe at him and it hits him on his head.
“Oww Y/n what was that for.”
You grin at him “Cause I felt like it.”
He rolls off the bed grabbing his boxers and a shirt.
He walks over and presses a kiss on your head grabbing his pants.
“One time thing Oli. We agreed last night.” You huff handing him his shoes. He grabs them and smiles.
“Fine see you later sweet pea.” He walks out of your dorm sending you a grin before he goes.

Sitting down in your transfiguration class the next day you’re barely able to concentrate replaying the night through your head.
“Miss L/n.” McGonagall says summoning you from your day dream.
“Yes professor?” You ask nervously due to the fact you haven’t been paying attention.
“Class is over.”
“Oh shit.”
“Language Ms. L/n.”
“Sorry professor it won’t happen again.” You say rushing to pack up and out of the classroom. In your haste you run smack into Cho Chang.
“How was your night Y/n?” She says cheekily with a wink.
You blush hoping no one is talking about your night with Oliver.
“What do you mean.” You lie rubbing your neck.
“Come off it everyone is talking about you and Oliver. I’m just sad I had to find out through the sheep rather than the shepherd.” She says and you look down at your feet.
“Sorry Cho. I just didn’t want to think too hard on it.”
“It’s fine Y/n I just hope he doesn’t distract you from quidditch anymore than he already does.” She teases taking your arm to lead you into the great hall.
When you walk in there are some whispers directed towards you. You haven’t really dated during your 7 years at Hogwarts so this is a shock to most of the 7th years and close to that grade.
There’s a shrill wolf whistle followed by a “Not so innocent are you Y/n.” It appeared to have come from the Slytherin table of course.
You turn scarlet embarrassed that everyone knows your personal business. “Come off it Malfoy.” Harry snaps and you give him a thankful smile before turning back to the Ravenclaw table.
Soon after a few Gryffindor quidditch players that you talk to sometime join you.
“Don’t worry about Malfoy he’s a git.”
“Good for nothing sod.”
“Ferret boy can’t be speaking.”
“Isn’t he with a new girl every week.”
Harry stays quiet not wanting to insult him not to his face even as the rest of them insult him.
“No need to go to his level but thanks.” You say grateful but not wanting to insult people especially when Harry looks to be getting uncomfortable.
It’s been obvious since second year that the two boys have been crushing on each other but like you and Oliver were too stubborn to act on it.
“Anytime. You know Oliver was in such a good mood this morning he wasn’t even mad at me and Fred for being late to practice.” George says like he’s proud of Oliver.
You chuckle and suddenly you feel a pair of chocolate eyes on you. Oliver walks towards your table sitting down next to you quietly.
“Stealin my girl are we mates.” He says putting an arm around your shoulder.
“One night was what we agreed Wood.” You hiss quietly. He smiles before pressing a kiss on your head.
“Milking it for all it’s worth sweet pea.” He whispers into your neck before looking up at the looks between us from all the tables. And the glare between Draco and Harry.
“What’d I miss?” He asks his eyes taking in the room the same way he surveys the quidditch field.
“Nothing.” You say quickly just as Angelina butts in.
“Malfoy insulting her.”
That gets his attention and his lips thin into a line. “What’d he say?”
“Basically insulted her on shagging you.” Alicia answers as Angelina and Fred are too busy staring into each other’s eyes.
“Bloody git.” He hisses before going to stand up determination in his eyes. I quickly pull him back down.
“Don’t cause a scene Oliver.” You warned your grip on his arm tight.
“I’m not having Malfoy over there insult my girl.” He grumbles standing up again.
“Oliver.” You hiss but he ignores you marching over to the Slytherin table where he’s sitting. Malfoy starts to mock him and then shrinks back seeing the loathing in Oliver’s eyes.
Harry tenses when Oliver starts talking to him quietly and Malfoy quickly earns his confidence back mouthing off again. This must have made Oliver really pissed because he suddenly grabs Draco’s jacket with both his fists and Draco looks scared.
Suddenly Harry stands up and storms over there saying something to Oliver. Oliver raises his brows looking between the two and Malfoy grins.
Oliver legs go of his coat lapels and walks back to you a proud smile on his face. You’re chewing on your lip nervously.
Oliver uses his thumb and gently brushes it over your bottom lip to stop you from chewing on it. “All solved princess .” He says looking back to Harry and Draco who appear to be having a civil conversation for once.
“You didn’t have to do that.” You mumble looking down at your plate.
“That’s where you’re wrong. No one talks bad about my girl without me doing anything.”
There’s that word again. My girl. It has a nice ring on it you think.
“Why are you here Oli.” You sigh resting your elbows on the table.
“Because I needed to talk to you.”
“About quidditch?”
“No not about quidditch.”
“Shocker cause most people think that’s the only thing you care about.” You tease looking at him. His brows are slightly furrowed and his lips presses thin.
“I care about you more than quidditch.” He says at last tucking a stray piece of hair out of your face. Your mouth parts slightly as if you were going to say something but nothing comes out.
You’re suddenly aware of all the eyes on you two and drag his hand out of the great hall. “Let’s talk about this in a more private place.”
“Whatever you want Y/n.”
You finally stop and gently push his back against one of the alcoves.
“Why are you being so nice to me all the sudden.” You demand because it used to be petty jabs and longing looks on the quidditch field. Now he’s all over you.
“Because I realized something last night. Or mainly this morning when I woke up to you on my chest. I wanted that to be reality everyday almost, and when someone was insulting you I wanted to be the ONLY one who can make petty comments. I realized I want to be able to protect you, and hold your hand in public, and wrap my arms around you, and most of all kiss you without anyone judging. I want it to be Oliver and Y/n.”
You’re speechless at his words and he smiles down at you nervously.
“Cmon Y/n answer me.” He begs.
“You didn’t ask a question Oli.”
He smiles at that and gently pulls you closer to him. “Will you go on a date to Hogsmead with me princess?”
You answer him by pressing a kiss to his lips. Before you can pull away he pulls you closer and angles your head back so he can comfortably kiss you.
You run your hands into his hair and tug gently and he groans into your mouth. You have a triumphant smile before he starts kissing your neck. You let out a soft moan as he presses kisses against the base of your neck.
Suddenly you’re interrupted by Cho calling “Get a room you two.” She mimes gagging and you laugh and flip her off. She smiles smugly and you turn back to Oliver with a huge grin on your face.
