Different times different feelings

The entire British Ministry of Magic seemed to be one entire mess. There were various department heads running around madly, most of them screaming at each other or at their secretaries, who were running behind them, carrying massive loads of paper. The aurors office, international relations office, department of magical games and sports, control of magical creatures office, Misuse of Muggle artefacts office and just about every office in the ministry seems to have gone crazy. The reason for this chaos is that this year after a very long time, they are having not one but two large international events in the Britain wizarding world; the Quidditch world cup finals and the Triwizard Tournament. Almost all officials were working overtime, for the past 3-4 months for this.

The minister of magic at the moment however was not really thinking of either of these two events per se. I mean it was related to one, but it doesn’t really gave any effect on it. It is though one thing which gives him a major level of headache.

He was at the moment hurriedly walking towards the meeting room, where he was having a meeting with the chief of the department of magical games and sports, Mr. Ludo Bagman, head auror, Mr. Bartemius Crouch and the head of the department of international relations, Mrs. Olivia Jackson.

Everybody stood up to greet the minister as he entered the meeting room.

'Yeah, yeah good day to everybody, Olivia have we received any news from the Japanese Ministry of Magic?' he asked rapidly.

'They have agreed to put in a request, but they are saying that they are not sure if they will even accept the request. There had been zero communications with the Japanese Ministry and them for the past year. It seems like Minerva has been the only wizard that they had been maintaining the relations with. They were surprised that Minerva was still in contact. However, since Minerva also had requested from them and she got the reply to put it in as an official mission, they have agreed to try sending in a request. They are not sure when exactly they are supposed to get the reply. They specifically mentioned not to get our hopes up'.

'Finally, at least they have agreed to send in our request. Also tell Minerva to send a letter to her cousin saying the request has been sent'.

'Yes minister she confirmed that she sent a mail this morning'.

'Ahh that is good. Anyway what was the relationship that this cousin of hers has with them, did you say Olivia'.

'Her cousin, Yoshina Hamate is a squib, and when her wizard sister Shikari, who was a skilled auror was killed in one of her missions with the shinobi, Yoshina was threatened, so it is said that she was taken into their custody. Now she is said to have been married and also has a kid in their world. She has been the main means of communication between the wizards and them, ever since she was taken into their custody.'

'Minister, I am still telling you continuously to think about what exactly you are doing. Them coming to Britain could mean a threat to our country. If what is said about them is true, they are hired mercenaries. They shall do anything for the right prize. It is also said that one of them could easily defeat at least twenty of our highly skilled aurors', said Crouch.

'That might be so, however this is a tradition used to maintain good relationships with their world. If they get to know that we had a Triwizard Tournament, without alerting them, then that would also lead to a much worse protection breach. Because if they take offence at that, they could attack us, and honestly, I feel that that would be much, much worse', said Fudge.

'Besides, if they reject the offer, it will not create any problems, right?' asked Fudge after sometime, to which Crouch had to agree.

At that moment, a guy came rushing into the meeting room, 'Mrs. Olivia, we have received a reply for our request from the Japanese minister'.

She quickly read the letter that the guy delivered to her, 'minister they have agreed to have a meeting with us, regarding the Tournament. However, they have said that they are not yet accepting the mission, the meeting will decide if they will be accepting it or not.'

'Oh, wow, I did not expect a reply that quickly', said Fudge, rather down-trodden.

'Oh, there is more minister. They have said that an invitation is sent to Minerva McGonagall to come live with Yoshina and her family for a few days, and that the details are in the letter sent to her'.

'Okay, contact her immediately, and tell her to come to the ministry at once. We have to decide when she is to go and the details of the meeting afterwards'.

'Yes, minister', said Olivia and ran to send an owl to Minerva.

-Yoshina Nara-
It has been 20 years since her sister's death and since she came into the shinobi world. A lot has changed since then. She came into the shinobi world all alone when she was 15 years old for her protection. She was glad that she came. No-one in the wizarding world took her seriously except for her sister and cousin, because she did not have any magic.

However, when she came into the shinobi world, she was adopted by Lord Third Hokage, who looked after her. Though she did not have any magic in her, she had chakra. Noone really knew the reason for it. However, since she had not trained to manipulate it, when she was small, she was not able to rise above the rank of genin.

Even in this world, she was bullied a lot. If it was not for the love she received from Lord third Hokage, she probably would have hated coming here. That and the friendship and companionship, which was later converted into a romantic relationship with Shikaku Nara, helped her get adopted into this society. She was right now a very happy mother of a genin, who just like his father is a huge genius.

While thinking about all of this, she was thinking about her cousin Minerva, who was the only person other than her sister, who did not bully her for not having magic. Ever since she came into this world, she had not talked with her. I mean even before, it was like once a year, whenever she visited them with her parents. She wondered what had happened to her. The last time she had seen her she was 18 years old and was talking about a Muggle guy. She wondered if she too had married and had any kids.

'Yoshina, do you need more time with your sister?', asked Shikaku, who had come with her to remember her sister's passing.

'No, let us go home, I have made some rice balls for tonight', she said standing up. She was so glad of the support her husband had for her. He, as a shinobi, understood the pain of the deaths of your loved ones.

'You know, Shikaku I was actually wondering about my cousin. You know the one I told you about. Minerva'.

'I remember you saying that she was the only one who did not bully you for not having any magic', said Shikaku.

'I was wondering if there was any way that I could talk with her. You know it would actually be nice to talk with someone like that. I think my sister would like that'.

'You can ask Lord Hokage for permission. I think he would actually allow it, as long as you do not reveal anything about the village to her', said Shikaku thoughtfully. 'We can meet Lord Hokage tomorrow for this if you want'.

'Yes, please, I would love that Shikaku. I think Shikamaru will probably be at home by the time we go home. Ohh, Shikaku, leave it until next week. Tomorrow our son is graduating from the ninja academy. We probably will have no time to meet Lord Hokage, and he too is probably busy.'

Shikaku nodded and agreed, but thought of mentioning it to Lord Hokage the next day after the jonin meeting.

Soon after she had been able to communicate with Minerva. Obviously all her letters were always proof-read by Shikaku and then by Lord Hokage, before it was sent, but she was very happy with the development.

-Time skip to just before Shikaku and Shikamaru went to fight in the 4th shinobi war-

'If this alliance continues you might actually be able to meet with your cousin and actually properly introduce us. We might even start accepting wizard missions again, which were stopped because of the akatsuki', said Shikaku the night before he went to war, as he was preparing his things.

Yoshina smiled, 'that is really good to hear. I would love that. After you and Shikamaru come back, we will ask Lady Hokage's permission to meet up with them. I mean we can easily meet up in the communication village. There is no need to bring her here even'.

Shikaku smiled, 'yes, that is a good idea'. The next morning they left for war.

She never thought that that would be the final time she would speak to him.
