Astoria, the Romantic
The setting up of the wedding was the most exciting thing Astoria had seen since her death. She wondered who it would be. Really, it didn’t matter much whose wedding it actually was, as a wedding for any of them would bring the whole gang, undoubtedly. Oh, this was thrilling indeed. How Astoria loved love. She was delighted to see two people join together, and thought back to her own wedding day. It had been so beautiful.
Astoria and Draco's wedding wasn’t held here at the manor, to Astoria's dismay. It had been held at the most prestigious wizarding hotel money could buy. Astoria had thought it a little too nouveau riche, but she had been assured that the building was old enough and held enough prestige that no whispers of such things would be heard. It was a convenient location, Draco had said, since Pansy, Blaise, and Theo had all been scattered amongst different countries and continents after the war. It was disappointing though, as her parents had told her nearly every time they visited the manor that she would be married there someday, so she couldn’t lie, it stung when Draco had told her the wedding would be held elsewhere.
She had managed to keep her composure while they spoke, but immediately flooed to her parents’ house to see what could be done to change his mind. Hadn’t they thought of this? What would people say? Wouldn’t this be seen as gauche? Why wasn’t it in the contract that the wedding was to be held at the manor? While her parents seemed sympathetic to her feelings on the matter, they told her she needed to allow Draco’s whims. Complaining to them was fine, encouraged even, so that she could vent her frustrations and present a more poised picture to Draco. After all, it was very important that she be the perfect Malfoy wife. Her father always said she should aim to please Draco as if her life depended on it. Astoria had tried to steel herself. She had to be made of tougher stuff than this, she had been trained for this essentially her whole life. She could do this. She should be pleased, Draco had let her go wild with the planning and he was sparing no expense when it came to their nuptials. She shouldn’t fret over this, the result would be the same: she would be Lady Malfoy, and she could not wait.
