The game.
When James woke up,he stretched out an arm to find the bed empty,He blinked slowly,taking in the pounding headache that sat in his forehead.He groaned,flinging an arm over his eyes and the door clicked open."Good morning,sleeping beauty" Regulus teased and James flipped him off,still covering his eyes."Not feeling so good then?" Regulus asked and James moved his arm off his face when the bed beside him dipped slightly.He squinted,frowning at Regulus who had a teasing smirk on his face."I feel like i've been hit by a bus.I am never drinking again" James sighed,rolling onto his side towards Regulus.Regulus just laughed,placing a hand on James' ribs gently."Hey.I know you probably don't want to talk about this right now and theres a good chance you don't even remember but about last night-" Regulus started,looking down at James "i meant it" James cut in and Regulus stopped."What?" he asked and James smiled softly at him "i meant what i said,Reg.I'm so in love with you and i'm such a fool for not realising it sooner" James' tone was calm and soft as Regulus stared back at him,lips parted slightly."Really?" he whispered and James nodded,a smile on his face as he brought a hand up to cup Regulus' jaw."i love you,Reg" James whispered,an adoring smile on his face that made Regulus feel like melting.He paused,a small smile growing on his face as he ran his thumb over James' cheekbone before cupping his jaw lightly."I love you too,James" James' smile grew as his eyes brightened."Really?" He asked excitedly and Regulus nodded,a small laugh escaping his lips.
And with that James smiled,pulling him into a warm,sweet kiss.James' hand falling to rest on Regulus' leg who was bent forwards over James,his hands cupping James' face gently.The two pulled away and James smiled softly before closing his eyes.He layed there,on his back head resting on Regulus' sides Pillow as Regulus traced a gentle finger across James features.James opened his eyes smiling at Regulus before he frowned slightly,closing his eyes again and when he opened them the colour drained from his face and his smile dropped."What?" Regulus asked but James didn't reply,instead he hauled himself up off of his bed before sprinting to his bathroom and throwing up.
Regulus sat on the edge of the bath tub,A hand rubbing up and down James' back gently as he groaned from infront of the toilet,where he was slumped on the floor."Never let me drink again.Ever" James whined,falling to the side to Rest his head on Regulus' knee.Regulus just laughed quietly,his hand moving to run his hands through James' hair softly as the door to the bathroom was pushed open.
"Ah good to see your in good shape aswell,Prongs" Remus smiled and Regulus looked at Sirius who stood behind Remus,sunglasses on his face,his hand clutching Remus'."Morning,Moony.Padfoot" James huffed,his eyes closed and his head still resting against Regulus' knee."Well,up and at 'em Jamie,you've got a match to get to" Remus spoke with a mischevious smile and James' eyes shot open in panic."Oh fuck" James whined,dropping his head onto his arms that rested against his knees.
After another 10 minutes by the toilet,James finally claimed he was okay and stood up with the help of Remus and Regulus before making his way into his room.James flopped down onto the bed beside Sirius who had fallen asleep,sunglasses still on his face."Okay.His kit is in the bottom drawer,shorts and top,the rest is to go in his bag which is...Oi James where's your bag?" Remus asked and James lifted an arm to point in a general direction near the door.Regulus packed James' bag while Remus practically dressed him,telling him off for being irresponsible."I told you last night,that we should go home but nooooo,someone obviously demanded we do shots" Remus had told him and James groaned in response "You say i'm the smart one and yet you never listen to a word i say" Remus laughed as he pulled James' shirt over his head."Okay.I am not taking your pants off so pants off and put those on.And be quick about it,we gotta leave in 10 minutes" Remus stated as he threw James' shorts at him before making his way to the other side of the bed where he began waking Sirius up.
They made it to the pitch with 10 minutes to spare before the match started and with a brief conversation and apology to his coach,James was let off the hook and started preparing himself for the game.Once he was warmed up,James pulled off his football team hoodie,Similar to the one that Regulus wore just yesterday,except this one was a dark red colour and said "Potter" In big gold letters across the back and "Team Captain" on the front left side.He looked over to where Regulus,Peter,Remus and Sirius stood.Sirius' arms wrapped around Remus in a hug,his cheek resting on his chest,the thick sunglasses still on his face.Remus rested his chin on the top of Sirius' head as he watched the pitch,Peter was looking down at his phone and Regulus stood with his arms crossed,looking around him.
James smiled before jogging over to the small group,ignoring the calls of his coach.The group spotted him and James grinned,slowing to a stop just infront of them."You're doing well James.Don't let coach see how hungover you are or he'll kick your arse" Remus joked and James laughed.James pressed a kiss to Sirius cheek who mumbled a "good luck,prongs" before moving and ruffling both Peter and Remus' hairs earning annoyed huffs from the pair,Peter swatting James' hand away from him.James grinned before turning to Regulus "Look after this for me.Yeah?" He asked as he held out his hoodie.Regulus nodded,hanging it over his arm."Put it on.It's good luck.All the boys give their girlfriends or boyfriends their hoodies during games.That is if you want to be my boyfriend" James asked with a smirk and Regulus rolled his eyes despite the wide smile on his face."You're so dramatic.Yes i'll be your boyfriend,James." Regulus laughed before pulling the hoodie over his head."Do i look Good now?" Regulus asked and James nodded "always" he winked and Regulus rolled his eyes dramatically earning a laugh from James.A whistle blew and James looked back to see his coach waving him over "Got to go,Love you" James smiled before pressing a kiss to Regulus' cheek and sprinting over to his team.
"What...The fuck" Regulus looked over to see Sirius stood,still hugging Remus but his head turned to face the side Regulus and Peter stood at,his jaw dropped open,eyes wide behind his sunglasses.Regulus just turned back to the pitch,his cheeks a burning pink.To be honest,Regulus knew very little about football but he clapped along with everyone,smiling everytime he caught James' eye and smiling to himself when James would wink at him after scoring a goal.God James Potter is hot and he knows it.
The half time whistle blew and the players each ran off of the pitch and either waited at the side with the coach or made their way to their families or friends who were watching.James slowly walked over,hands on his hips as he kept his eyes trained on the ground,looking up every now and then to check he was still going in the right direction.Once he reached the group he immediately slumped down,hands resting on his knees as he stood hunched over,his head hanging down."You good,Prongs?" Remus asked from where he now sat on the grass."I am this close to throwing up.Please remind me to never drink ever again.Especially before a match.Or just simply knock me out the next time i mention shots" James huffed and Remus laughed.James moved to drop down onto the grass,sitting himself inbetween Regulus' legs and leaning back against his chest,an arm crossed over his face.Regulus let out a little "oof" sound as James leant against him but James smiled slightly when Regulus draped his arm over James' shoulders,resting loosely around his neck,the other placed behind him,holding them up."So.Jamie" Sirius started and James moved his arm and turned his head to look at Sirius who was staring back at him,a pointed look on his face.
"What exactly do you think you are doing with my brother? hm?" Sirius asked,raising his eyesbrows at the pair.James tilted his head to look up at Regulus who shook his head "this is all you,lover boy" Regulus joked and James laughed before looking back at Sirius."Well-" James started being immediately interrupted by a loud whistle and James' coach calling the players back."oh what a shame,theres the whistle" James shrugged,a smirk on his face as Sirius grumbled,something about James being a cheeky git maybe?
James laughed,pulling himself off of the floor and turning around.He bent forwards,cupping Regulus' face in his hands before smiling and bringing him into a deep kiss.He pulled away,winking at Regulus who had turned significantly pinker in the face before grabbing his water bottle off of the grass and standing up.James walked forwards,towards the benches,sending a wink to Sirius as he passed him,earning a grumble from Sirius.
James' team won,of course and James jogged over to his friends,a beaming smile on his face.Remus hugged him with a cheery "well done" in his ear before James moved on to Peter who hugged and congratulated him.Regulus was next and James smiled before wrapping his arms around him,resting his cheek on top of Regulus' head."Well done,i don't get football but you looked good anyway" Regulus smiled,looking up at James who burst out laughing,not letting go of Regulus."Why thank you" James smiled,pressing a kiss to Regulus' forehead.James let go of Regulus,before turning to face Sirius who stood next to Remus now.James opened his arms and wiggled his eyebrows at the other boy "Come on,Pads.You know you want to" he teased and Sirius rolled his eyes before punching him lightly in the stomach.James groaned,laughing as he doubled over,"Please don't,i'm still violently hung over" James laughed and Sirius crossed his arms "That what you get for not telling me you made a move on my little brother" Sirius tried to look stern but James could see the happiness in his eyes."I am so sorry padfoot.You know what,you were right.I am in love with your brother and i kissed him-" James spoke dramatically,his hands on Sirius' shoulders "i changed my mind.Keep it to yourself" Sirius interrupted,shaking his head making the group laugh."As long as you're both happy,i guess that's okay" Sirius rolled his eyes,trying his hardest to hold back a smile.
"So,technically since i'm feeling better,i can go home now.yeah?" Regulus asked from where he sat on the couch in James' appartment.Sirius,Remus,James and Regulus were watching a movie while Peter was out at work.Sirius and Remus layed out on one couch,tangled together while James and Regulus layed on the other.James sat with his back against the arm of the couch,his legs stretched out across the seats as Regulus layed inbetween his legs on his stomach,his cheek resting on James' chest as he watched the Tv."Ew yeah,i don't want you two sharing a bed anymore.Actually...i don't think i ever agreed to you two sharing a bed?" Sirius spoke up,lifting his head from off Remus' chest but not making any attempt to move away from him."Too bad" Regulus shrugged and Sirius rolled his eyes,a fond smile on his lips."Yeah.No i think you're still poorly.Maybe you should just stay forever" James joked,looking down at Regulus who had his chin on James' chest,looking up at him."And i think you're a drama queen.I live 10 minutes away" Regulus replied,laying back down on James' chest."if that's what you want love,i'll take you home tonight" James spoke softly,his fingers carding through Regulus' hair."Hmm,maybe one more night" Regulus smiled up at James who smiled back before pressing a kiss to his forehead.
Typically,Regulus ended up falling asleep on James where they layed on the couch,however they couldn't sleep there,James couldn't imagine all the aches and pains he'd wake up with from sleeping on to couch so he gently woke Regulus up and he shuffled off to bed.James bid his goodbyes to Sirius and Remus before grabbing a glass of water and making his way to bed.After getting changed,James made his way into his bathroom and started brushing his teeth,the door open letting some light from the bathroom into his room."James" Regulus called sleepily "Yes,love?" James called back through a mouthfull of touthpaste."Hurry up,i'm cold" Regulus replied and James laughed softly before finishing up brushing his teeth.James being James of course took the opportunity to run and dive on the bed,landing on top of Regulus who groaned,quickly turning it into a laugh as James moved to face him,still layed flat ontop of him."Get off,You're heavy" Regulus laughed and James sat up,kneeling over Regulus,careful not to squish him by sitting on him."it's all the muscle,love" James winked,making an extra show of flexing his abs above Regulus."uh huh,sure.Now lie down and cuddle me.I am cold" Regulus laughed and James flopped down beside him,pulling himself under the covers.Regulus immediately moved into the circle of James' arms,his head resting on his chest as he softly traced a finger over James' toned stomach."I was serious about you being my boyfriend,Reg.I want to be with you and i would love nothing more than to be able to call you my boyfriend" James broke the silence,his fingers tracing over Regulus' back."I was serious aswell,i want to be with you too James" Regulus replied softly,shifting slightly so he could see James."I love you,Reg.So much" James smiled.
Regulus had never felt like this about anyone.Ever.Sure he loved Pandora and Sirius and would do anything for them.But this was different.He loved James and there was absolutely nothing he wouldn't do to see James Potter Happy.God,since when did he become such a sap.Regulus smiled,the softest smile you would ever see him wear,the one he seemed to have reserved for James and Only him.He leaned forwards,placing a soft hand on James' cheek,fingers on his neck before pulling him into a gentle kiss,their lips brushing softly. "i love you too,James" Regulus whispered and with that the two layed their,drifting off to sleep in eachothers arms,thinking only of what they had and what they were sure would last forever.
