Movie Night.
The sound of hushed voices from outside James' bedroom door caught Regulus's attention when he disturbed from his sleep,He could hear the distinct voices of his brother and James and the occasional mumble from Remus.Regulus pulled himself to sit up,staying there for a minute,his head down while he adjusted to being upright.When the dizziness calmed,Regulus pushed himself to stand up,wrapping James' cream coloured blanket around his shoulders,trailing it along the floor behind him.
He pulled the door open,the daylight not bothering him as much as the previous day,only making him squint for a second,a dull ache in his head but it was bareable.However,the pressure in his chest was more intense since waking up.As he stepped out of the bedroom,he was met with the three voices coming from in the Kitchen,although only Remus was in his sight.
He walked forwards,clutching the thick blanket close around him until he reached the Kitchen."Morning,Reg" James smiled and Regulus kept walking to stand next to him,looking at his brother who sat on one of the island chairs."How are you feeling? any better?" Sirius asked and Regulus just nodded,he knew the second he spoke it would give away that he indeed was not 'fine' and that would only worry Sirius even more."Talk,Reg" Sirius raised his eyebrows as though he didn't believe him.Regulus rolled his eyes before opening his mouth and when no sound came out he quickly closed it again before swallowing and trying again."Stop babying me i'm fine" Regulus rasped and Sirius huffed.
"Tea?" James asked Regulus,leaning in so he could hear him over Sirius complaining to Remus,Regulus nodded "Yes please" he spoke even though he was sure James didn't hear it he seemed to understand because he nodded and moved to grab a mug from the cupboards.
"But Moony,i'm just trying to help!" Sirius complained "Sirius.Please just shut up,my head hurts and my chest hurts and me telling you to shut up is not helping that,i appreciate your help but i am not a child,i'm fine" Regulus winced as he spoke as loud as he could."But-" Sirius stopped himself and nodded,looking down at his hands."Sorry,Reggie.And sorry moony for shouting at you" Sirius pouted as he looked up at Remus who stood behind the seat he sat on,hands on Sirius' shoulders."It's alright" Remus smiled before leaning down and pressing a kiss to Sirius' forehead."Gross" Regulus croaked.
James brought over Regulus' tea,holding it until Regulus finished coughing.Regulus took the mug from James' hands and smiled weakly."Thank you" His voice came out as a whisper and James sat down in the chair beside him."You are on voice rest,no more talking unless you have to." James told him and Regulus rolled his eyes with a smile to match James'.
"Okay,Well The group is coming round later today for movie night for Peter's birthday tomorrow.You okay with that Reg? We can reschedule if you want" Sirius asked and Regulus nodded before shaking his head then frowning and nodding before giving up and resting his head on the table."One question at a time padfoot,Do you want us to reschedule Reg? which is totally fine if you do" James asked and Regulus shook his head,keeping it rested against the table."Are you sure,Reggie" Sirius asked and Regulus nodded,once again leaving his head resting against the table.
"okay,we've got to go and get some food options,snacks and things from the shop" Sirius said to James who nodded before turning to Regulus,placing a hand on his back so he knew James was talking to him. "We've got to go get snacks and things,Do you want to come with us? we might be able to find you something to help you feel better if you want?" James asked and Regulus lifted his head,rubbing his eyes before nodding."Are you sure? you don't have to if you don't feel up to it" Sirius added and Regulus nodded again.
"okay,you two get dressed and meet me and moony at our appartment,yeah?" Sirius asked and Both James and Regulus nodded.Sirius and Remus saw themselves out and Regulus followed James into his room."James?" Regulus spoke and James turned around from where he was grabbing a hoodie out of his wardrobe."Hm?" James hummed,and regulus cleared his throat before speaking "Can i borrow something to wear? Sirius wouldnt let me go home so i dont have anything" Regulus asked and James nodded.
James gave Regulus a black hoodie and a white tshirt and Regulus grabbed his phone deciding to quickly check in with pandora.

Regulus placed his phone down on the bed when James came back in,handing him a pair of Sirius' joggers and a pair of boxers."Sirius said,don't worry they haven't been warn and to keep them.Merry christmas" James recited and Regulus arched an eyebrow at him but James just shrugged with a smile.
After a quick shower,Regulus got himself changed before following James to meet Sirius and Remus.
"All clean and ready?" Sirius asked,wrapping an arm around Regulus' shoulders."Get off" Regulus grumbled,pushing Sirius' arm off of him and stepping away from him,closer to James."Leave him alone,not everyone is in the mood for your- you all the time.Of course Moony and I are but Reggie here,not so much" James joked and Sirius gasped,acting offended as he placed a dramatic hand on his chest."Reggie,how could you?" He gasped and Regulus rolled his eyes before pulling the hood of James' hoodie up over his head,the hoodie was already too big so the hood covered his head comfortably,resting on top of his hair.
The car ride was about 20 minutes because the first shop was closed so they had to go to another one.
"Why the hell is it closed?! it's a Monday!" Sirius yelled from the drivers seat."Bank holiday?" Remus guessed and Sirius huffed.Regulus sat with his knees pulled up to his chest,his hands over his face and resting them on his knees."Hey,you okay?" James asked giving Regulus a gentle nudge.Regulus looked up and nodded,sighing and blinking his eyes a few times.
James didn't reply,instead he just held an arm out to Regulus.Regulus looked at him and James just raised his eyebrows."Come on,i'm warm i promise" James joked but Regulus knew it was true,you couldn't go around being a ball of sunshine and not be warm.Regulus sighed before leaning forwards so James could put his arm behind him.When he leant back again,Regulus shifted to lean against his shoulder,His hair tickling James' cheek.
Now,Regulus will admit he is very warm and very glad James can't see how pink his face has definitely turned.
For the last 10 minutes,Regulus layed against James' side,head on his shoulder,eyes closed as the scent of James' cologne sent him peacefully to sleep.James was in a soft conversation with Remus,leaning up against the car door so Regulus could comfortable rest against him."Alright.We're here,up and at 'em Reggie" Sirius called,not looking back before jumping out of the car.
James laughed softly as Regulus lifted his middle finger at his brother."Come on,Reg" James whispered,brushing a hand gently down the side of Regulus' face before sitting up and taking Regulus with him.Regulus grumbled something before undoing his seatbelt and sliding across from the middle seat to follow James out of the car.
They had luckily found a parking spot right by the enterance so the walk inside was quick,the cool air of the shop sending a chill through Regulus' already cold body.Sirius ranted on about different foods while Regulus followed the group,arms wrapped around himself in an attempt to keep warm.
Once they had found the snacks isle,Regulus watched with an eye roll as Sirius and James grabbed multiple bags of crisps,chucking them into the basket that Remus was holding like excited children."Reg,what sweets do you like?!" James bounded over to Regulus happily and Regulus had to put his hands out to stop James from bouncing into him."I haven't eaten solid foods for two days,You should know,all i've ate is your soup" Regulus spoke,his hands splayed out on James' chest."Oh right,yeah.Favourite soup?" James wiggled his eyebrows at Regulus who rolled his eyes."i'm not eating anymore soup" James laughed before getting distracted by Sirius who was chucking two bags of sweets in the basket.
After another 10 minutes of Remus pulling both Sirius and James away from the food,they made it to the counter and James and Sirius fought about who was going to buy it."No i'm paying!" Sirius yelled as he rummaged through his pocket."No! i am.The foods for my house mate" James argued.The pair looked up at the sound of the card machine beeping,to see Regulus stood with his phone above the machine."What? Reggie no" Sirius argued "Now you'll stop arguing.Shut up and carry the stuff,it's got my painkillers and smoothies in anyways" Regulus shrugged before walking away from the boys.
James protested once they were in the car,insisting that he was going to give Regulus the money,Regulus argued that he didn't care.Of course,James was not one to give up and Regulus was too sick to care."Okay,whatever James.Now shhh and lay back" Regulus pushed James back gently by his chest so he sat against the door of the car,before sitting himself in the middle seat.Once his seatbelt was secure,Regulus returned to his space under James' arm,his head on his shoulder,arms wrapped around himself.
"Reg,Reg wake up.We're back" James whispered,stroking his thumb across Regulus' cheek.James sat up and Regulus yawned before wincing and holding his throat."Lets get you inside,i'll make you some-" "if you say you'll make me some soup,i will run away" Regulus raised an eyebrow at James who shut his mouth with a smile.
They made it inside,Sirius and Remus brought the shopping bags into James' appartment while James made Regulus some tea."here you go" James whispered,placing Regulus' tea on the table beside the couch where he was curled up.Regulus smiled gratefully and James nodded before helping Sirius unpack the snacks.
Regulus made his way to James' bed,claiming that he wasn't feeling so good and that he would just sleep it off for a bit which of course James asked if he needed anything,before returning to setting up the living room.Once the living room was set up,the TV in the correct place so everyone would be able to see and the correct pillows and blankets around the room,Sirius and Remus made their way back to their appartment for a "quick nap" while James straightened up the house.
5 o'clock came around and James straightened up the last few things in the Kitchen until he heard a harsh sequence of coughs coming from his room.He made his way across the Kitchen and slowly pushed his bedroom door open,revealing Regulus curled up in the bed.
"Hey Reg,You doing alright?" James asked as he walked to the bedside.Regulus looked up at James,a shiver running through his body."Are you cold?" James asked with a frown and Regulus nodded.James nodded and gently lifted a hand to place it on Regulus' forehead."You feel warm" Regulus shook his head and James brushed the hair gently out of his face.
"James? Peter?" A voice called and James looked over towards the door,after promising he'd be back in a minute,James left to let everyone in.Marlene,Dorcas,Lily and Mary were the first to arrive and James let them in,telling them to make themselves at home in the living room before making his way back to his room.This time,Regulus was sat up,arms wrapped around himself,pulling the blanket closer around him.He had his hood up and his body shook lightly.James sat down beside Regulus,a worried look on his face as the other boy looked at him."I just can't get warm" Regulus croaked and James nodded,gently drawing him into a hug."You can come and sit with us in the living room if you want? Pandora's coming" James whispered as he gently rubbed his hand up and down Regulus' back,the other rested on the back of his head and Regulus nodded into his shoulder.
James stood up,Gently guiding Regulus to stand up after him,keeping the blanket wrapped tightly around himself.They made it out to the living room and everyone was here now,spread around the room."Oh,hi Regulus" Marlene chirped,her head in Dorcas' lap where they sat amongst the pillows on the floor."Hi" he rasped and marlene frowned."Ouch.That sounds painful" Regulus nodded,allowing himself to be pulled along by James' arm wrapped around his back."Start the movie,i'll just grab some tea.Two seconds" James spoke and everyone nodded before starting the movie.
James returned a few minutes later with a cup of tea in his hands,setting himself down next to Regulus who sat next to the arm of the couch.Regulus accepted the tea with a whisper thank you and James nodded,turning his attention to the movie.Sirius and Remus were curled up on the second couch,taking the whole thing for themselves while Marlene,Dorcas,Lily and Mary all huddled up on the floor,with the blankets and pillows James had left out.Then,Peter sat on the couch next to James,a small gap between them.
A soft knock at the door caught James' attention who quietly pushed himself to stand up and made his way over to the door.Seconds later,Pandora walked into the room,James following behind her.She spotted Regulus and made a sad face at him,"Awh Reg" She whispered,placing a kiss on his head before sitting next to Peter.Regulus held his hand out towards James who took it and sat back in his place,Now beside Pandora.
Regulus turned to face James,his blanket still bundled around him,his back against the arm of the couch "You're warm" he whispered and James smiled,opening an inviting arm out to Regulus.Regulus smiled weakly and lifted his legs to rest over James' and scooted closer so he could lay his head down on James shoulder.One of James' arms wrapped around Regulus' back,his fingers gently combing through Regulus' hair,the other rested on his knee.
"Oi" Sirius spoke and Regulus opened his eyes to see Sirius staring at him and James.Clearly James had notice to because he was the first to speak."What?" James asked and Sirius raised an eyebrow at him."Get off my brother" He whispered and James laughed softly."No,He's freezing.And i'm never cold" "it's true he's very warm" Regulus added before leaning away from James and coughing into his elbow.
The end of the movie rolled around and everyone started conversations between themselves.James blinked as someone tapped his shoulder,he turned to see Pandora smiling at him."I think you're doing well at keeping him warm" Pandora smiled,nodding towards Regulus who was sleeping soundly,his arms wrapped around James' waist,knees curled up to his chest but his feet still over James' legs resting on the couch on the other side of him."Yeah.He feels warm but he was shivering and everything" James whispered,lifting a hand to press against Regulus' forehead.
It was gone 10 o'clock by the time everyone had filtered out saying their goodbyes to James and Peter.Sirius and Remus were the last to leave,"Want help getting him to bed? i'll wake him up if you want" Sirius started but James interrupted him "No,No it's alright,mate.I'll just carry him.You coming by tomorrow?" James asked and Sirius narrowed his eyes at James before sighing "don't think so,got to get to work early but message me if he gets worse,you know he won't want me here but just text me yeah?" Sirius asked and James nodded from where he still sat on the couch."Yeah of course" James smiled and Sirius nodded happily,still stood infront of where James sat."Alright,text me if you need anything" Sirius called as he walked towards the door.
The door clicked shut and James sighed looking down at Regulus."He looks so cozy" Peter laughed quietly,still sat beside James."I know,he'd go crazy if we ever said that to his face though" James joked with a grin."You need anything? i'm gonna head to bed" Peter asked and James shook his head before wrapping an arm underneath Regulus' legs,the other around his back and he stood up picking Regulus up with him."Night mate" James smiled and Peter nodded,making his way into his room.
James walked as quickly and quietly as he could,hoping to be able to put Regulus in the bed without waking him up.He almost managed until he layed Regulus down and his eyes fluttered open.James smiled softly and Regulus frowned."What are you doing?" He whispered,his eyes falling closed again."Sorry,Love.You fell asleep and i didn't want to wake you" James whispered back and Regulus nodded.James stood up straight but soon stopped when Regulus reached a hand out to grab onto James' hoodie near his ribs."Can you stay? I'm cold" Regulus asked quietly and James took Regulus' hand and gently pulled it off his hoodie,holding it in his hands."Yeah.Sure" James whispered before making his way over to the other side of the bed.
He quickly pulled his shirt off,leaving his joggers on before climbing into the bed beside Regulus.Regulus rolled over,tucking himself into James' side before resting his head on James' chest.James layed awake,carding his fingers through Regulus' hair until his breaths evened out and he was asleep again.He sighed and finally allowed himself to fall asleep,his arms wrapped tightly around Regulus.
