Summary
Non-canon-compliant fic! The First Wizarding War ends after Evan Rosier, Pandora Rosier, Barty Crouch Jr and Dorcas Meadowes finish what their best friend Regulus Black couldn't; destroying the horcruxes and killing Voldemort. Now, everyone has to navigate life in the aftermath of a war, and some a life without loved ones.

Somewhere
Regulus smiled as he walked through the trees; stroking animals, eating the wild mushrooms and edible flowers. Down below he saw Sirius, his daughter on his lap, reading her a bedtime story. Did Regulus regret dying, regret never getting that parent experience himself? No.
Regulus, in life, was always afraid of heights. So afraid.
Not anymore. Now he knew he couldn’t ever fall, not unless something pulled him down from those trees. Sometimes he even wanted to fall now.
Up here was peaceful. But he missed his brother's chaos, James' chaos, the warmth of cuddling with the Pantheon.
He missed Remus, Lily, Sirius, James, Dorcas, Evan, Barty, Pandora. Narcissa. Andromeda. Even Bellatrix.
