0.26 - A Wizard's Guide to Pop Culture, Part 2
“And that is how pop culture had a massive impact on Muggle history, as well as the Wizarding world’s, giving a revival for a time that was about to begin dying,” Yutaka said in her last line in the summary and bowed, “Thank you.”
“Thank you, Yutaka, et al. What an impressive summary; give them a round of applause, everybody!” Professor Burbage chirped as the students did so, and gave the floor to the following group.
As the succeeding group presented their summary of the culture, Celestine turned to Cedric and whispered, asking how he was doing.
“I’ve been well. How about you? You had your tests last Monday, right?” He whispered and she nodded, “How did you do?”
“Hellish,” She admitted and smiled, “But, I managed.”
“Well, congratulations. Are you still studying Year One?”
“Yeah, but I’m moving to Year Two in mid-November.”
A few minutes later, the Muggle Studies class was finished and the Year 5 students began to pack up and leave the classroom. Celestine stood up and let Cedric carry her bag to the Great Hall for lunch. There, they continued to talk—more so than before as to get to know each other at a deeper level.
“You’re so crazy for that,” Celestine laughed as Cedric told her an embarrassing memory from his childhood, “How could you mistake it for a Chocolate Frog?”
“My neighbor told me!” Cedric’s ears turned pink from laughing along with her, “It was gullible of me to believe that one can get a smushed Chocolate Frog from the ground.”
The pair entered the Great Hall and he gave her her bag before going to their respective tables since it was by their House. Her face turned from a smile to a bit of a frown, A Year 3 from Slytherin couldn’t help but notice—specifically, Draco Malfoy.
Why was he fascinated with the Potters lately? There wasn’t anything special about them anyway! Just mere half-bloods that don’t deserve attention from the others: that’s what the Slytherin thought, and he stood by it. Those Potters were so annoying ever since they stepped foot in the institution, nay, the Wizarding World.
But why couldn’t he stop looking, or even thinking about them? Why, why, why? Maybe he should just continue to torment them, yes! That might be the best action to take, wouldn’t it? Yes, of course! Oh, he couldn’t wait to see their looks on their faces when he does it!
Meanwhile, Celestine talked with her fellow Ravenclaw roommates, brainstorming how to make their Quidditch signs beautiful yet magical.
“I don’t know, take inspiration from Muggle pop culture?” Yutaka shrugged, not knowing another option.
“How about we just use charms? We could initially put a jumble of letters and then it could move into one specific message?” Celestine suggested.
“How about we just die?” Yvonne groaned, bored at the project they were about to make, “It’s only early afternoon and I should’ve stayed in the dorm room and slept in.”
