Midnight

Over the next couple of months Harry and Draco got really close. They were practically inseparable and they were happy. Currently Harry was putting in his resignation at the ministry. McGonagall offered him the defense position at hogwarts, he couldn't turn it down for some reason.

"I understand Potter. You were a hell of a good Auror, but I think you'll do great as a teacher as well." Shacklebolt said a small smile on his face. "You've made all of them very proud." He said before Harry went to leave.

"Thank you Sir. That's all I hope for. I am sorry to disappoint but I think it's time I take my own life into my hands. Speaking of, would it be alright under my supervision to allow Narcissa Malfoy into my home for a few hours today." Harry asked hopefully.

"Yes that would be alright, I'll allow it. Have as long as you'd like, just make sure she's back home by midnight. I'll let the ministry know." Shacklebolt smiled and waved him off. "Go do good things Potter, for you this time."

So Harry waved one last time, and made his way out of the ministry. Apparating to Malfoy manor. He knocked three times, and the door opened.

"Harry Potter. How lovely to see you, come in." Harry smiled at Narcissa, walking into the house slowly. She'd taken her time on house arrest to decorate, and it looked like a completely transformed home.

"It looks lovely in here Mrs. Malfoy." Narcissa shook her head, "please. Call me Narcissa, I am no longer a Malfoy." Harry nodded in understanding. "What brings you here today?" She carried on, eyeing the boy.

"I've been given permission from the ministry to bring you to my house for a few hours. I figured you're well overdue for a visit to your son. I will make us dinner."

Narcissa smiled sweetly at him, "you care for Draco, don't you." Harry chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "You should know I always have Narcissa." She nodded in agreement.

"Thank you Harry. He needed a friend like you. I could always tell you two were good for each other. I appreciate this greatly."

Harry shrugged, "you guys shouldn't have been separated in the first place, but this is all I can do for you as of now."

"I understand, let me grab something real quick, and we can go. Does he know?" Harry shook his head, smiling. "Not yet." Narcissa smiled and walked up the stairs.

Harry sighed, relieved that today had gone so well. He would get to see that cute smile on Draco's face when he finally got to see his mother after months. He finally is working the job he wants to, and what the best thing is, Draco would be there too. Hopefully.

"Just wait right outside for a second, in like a minute knock on the door." Harry winked heading inside. "Dray I'm home!" Draco came running downstairs. "Harry!" He said happily hugging his bestfriend.

"I quit." Draco's face lit up, "Did you really?!"

Harry laughed, nodding and kissing Draco's hand. "I did love, I'm cooking a nice dinner to celebrate." That's when the knock came, Draco tilted his head in confusion. "You expecting someone?" He asked in a small voice.

"Yes I am. Could you get it darling?" Draco blushed only being able to nod. Opening the front door. "Mother!" Draco yelled hugging her tightly.

All of the emotions possible welled in his eyes and heart, he turned to Harry. "You set this up?" Harry winked, "I figured you needed to see her."

Draco let go of his mum long enough to run over and hug Harry, kissing both of his cheeks. "Thank you thank you thank you."

When they pulled away they were both blushing and swaying awkwardly. Narcissa couldn't help but smile, she knew that look in her sons eyes. "I've missed you my dear, how have you been?" She asked, patting his shoulder.

"Good, Harry has helped a lot." The blonde smiled over at his bestfriend.

"I'll let you two catch up while I cook. Is shrimp and lobster Alfredo alright? I bought it before I thought about it." Harry said awkwardly, his heart still racing from that hug. Stupid feelings.

"That will be just fine love, thank you again." Draco replied smiling.

They had just sat down to dinner, and Harry was excited to give even more good news. "So I've talked to many people today. McGonagall being one of them, I quit the aurors because they want a new defense teacher." Draco's face lit up. "I'm so proud of you Harry, you're going to be amazing at that!"

"Do you want to hear something even better?" Harry said smiling extra cheesy. Draco tilted his head in confusion. "Well.. go on."

"She wants you to teach potions." Draco's face flashed through many different emotions, "wait what? REALLY?!" His voice went from confusion to excitement. Narcissa finally broke her silence, "you boys would both make great professors."

Draco smiled, "coworkers yeah?" He said with a tone of teasing. "Me and you back in hogwarts without fighting? McGonagall wouldn't know what to do." They laughed and Draco wrote the letter to McGonagall after dinner accepting.

"I'm proud of you my dear son. So proud of you, I must get home now. Hopefully we can visit again soon." Harry nodded, "I'll make sure of it. It was lovely seeing you."

"As it was you, take care of my boy. Thank you for this. Am I trusted to apparate by myself?" Harry shrugged, "I trust you. I'm Harry Potter, let me know if they give you trouble." He winked.

Draco hugged his mother, and so did Harry and she was off with a pop.

The boys hung out the rest of the night, watching films and laughing. As usual they met outside at midnight.

"Thank you so much for today." Draco whispered, looking at Harry. Harry was looking right back at Draco. "I'd do anything to keep that smile on your face." Harry said putting his hand on Draco's cheek and stroking it with his thumb.

He always felt more brave in the midnight breeze.

The boys locked eyes for a few seconds, before they subconsciously began leaning in. Their lips met and they froze before instantly melting into the kiss under the midnight moon.

They pulled away after a few short seconds and rested their heads together. "This porch has done a lot for us." Harry said softly.

"I found the real Draco here. I found a friend here. I found my bestfriend here, and I fell so hard for you right here. At midnight." Draco chuckled quietly.

"Midnight, my new favorite time." He kissed Harry again.
