Surprisingly, Harry does not die
To Harry’s surprise, ol’ voldy the nose'nt 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯𝘵 pop up like an angry snake from hell. Nor did Dumbles.
He breathed a sigh of relief and pulled up his hood, keeping an eye on the path as he walked.
Harry put his hands in his pockets as he walked, making a mental list of the things he needed to get:
- Clothes. Harry had only brought his Hogwarts stuff (aside from the one long sleeve he currently wore).
- Decorations for his room.
- Maybe something for Ambrosia if the town had a pet shop.
He nodded to himself and continued walking, wondering just how far away this town was.
Harry walked for about an hour before he saw signs of civilization. He mentally cheered and sped up his walking speed.
The town honestly looked pretty large from afar, yet it didn't seem like there were many people. Well, it was cold out, so that would explain why.
Harry got closer and walked across a bridge with an archway above it. The archway had a sign but Harry didn't reaaally care about the name of the town.
The ground changed from gravel to stones, and Harry knew he was officially in the town.
He decided to just go into the first shop he saw, which looked like a little office supply store.
He pushed the door open and waved at the person at the front, a man with a leather jacket and long brown hair.
Harry glanced around the store, before deciding to go talk to the man at the front.
“Excuse me? What kind of money do you guys take here? I'm not a local.”
The man looked up at him with a smirk and told him the kind of money needed in the town.
Harry thanked him and went to look around in the store.
He found all kinds of folders, papers, and writing/crafting supplies.
Harry was rather tempted to get some of the painting stuff, so he gave into that temptation.
20 minutes later he was walking up to the front with an entire basket full of painting supplies. (He had gotten a basket once he realized he couldn't possibly carry it all.)
The man at the counter raised his eyebrows at Harry, but didn't say anything.
Harry paid for the stuff and walked out with several bags on his arms.
And then a thought hit him. How was he going to carry all of this?!
Maybe he could continuously find alleyways and summon Daisy to take the stuff for him. The poor elf, Harry was only at the first shop and he already had so much.
Harry ducked into an alleyway and called for Daisy.
“Master Harry is needing something?” The elf said, tilting her head.
“Could you maybe take this stuff to the mansion for me? And, um, could you get my endless bag from my trunk and get it for me?” Harry asked, having just remembered he got an enchanted bag when he was in Diagon.
The elf nodded and took Harry's stuff, appearing again a couple minutes later with Harry’s bag.
It was a messenger bag type thing, with a simple green and silver checkered pattern on the front. He thanked Daisy and kneeled on the ground, opening the bag and putting his money pouch in it.
He snapped the bag closed and pulled it up, putting it on his shoulder underneath the cloak.
Harry adjusted it and made sure it was secure before he walked back out of the alleyway, looking for specific stores now.
He found a clothing store and excitedly walked in, his eyes widening at the sheer amount of clothing there.
Oh, he was going to have fun here.
Harry looked through all the clothing with a grin on his face, finding some awfully bright and busy clothing that just screamed Dumbledore. He had to look away before it gave him a headache.
Harry walked out of that store 2 hours later with 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 fucking clothes that he'd be set for the rest of his life.
The person at the register had looked at him like he was insane, and it almost made Harry laugh.
Okay, so, clothes were off the list. Now to find a store that would have decorations for his room.
As Harry was walking along the street, he 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 nearly had a heart attack. There was someone not that far away that looked way too much like Snape, followed by someone that looked like muggle Dumbledore. But the beard wasn't quite long enough.
Harry took a different route just in case.
He eventually found a store that seemed promising for decorating his room, and he also saw a pet shop not too far away.
Harry went into the store for decorations and looked around, amazed by the amount and variety of things.
Harry spent another couple of hours there, getting all kinds of things. He even got an incredibly soft and fluffy rug for the floor.
He left the shop with a fuckton of stuff, for the second shop in a row. He didn't even want to know how much money he'd been spending..
Harry went to the pet shop as his last stop, and the person at the counter gave him the most suspicious look he'd gotten today.
Honestly, he's not going to kill someone or something! He's just cold and didn't have much clothing!
Harry noticed that there wasn't anything for owls and frowned, even though it made sense. There was a reptile corner atleast, so maybe he could find something for Ambrosia.
He found a funky little self-heating rock for snakes to lounge on, and bought it without second thought. It needed batteries, but he was a wizard, he was sure that he could figure out some way to keep it heated without the batteries. The on/off switch was nice too.
Harry left that shop and looked around. He was pretty sure he was done for today, and since the town was decently close he could visit again if he needed to.
…scratch being done today, Harry just spotted a bakery.
Harry almost sprinted over to it, remembering that his own birthday was coming up surprisingly soon.
He pushed open the door and was instantly assaulted by a wave of delicious smells, his eyebrows raising once he saw all the available foods.
Now that Harry was living alone, he could do and get what he wanted. So, when he saw the freezer with ice-cream cakes, who was he to resist?
Harry picked out an absurdly large cookies and cream cake, taking it up in order to buy it. He also glanced to the side and saw individual cake slices in a case.
Well, he did want a snack for the way back to the mansion…
Harry walked out of that bakery with a stupid grin on his face, and an ice cream cake magically stored in his bag. He'd cast some freezing charms on it that would hopefully last till he got back.
He also had a slice of red velvet cake in a small container, and once he left the town he opened it and ate it on the way back.
That was certainly a fun and productive trip, Harry liked that little town.
