Tokoyami and Hawks lock eyes, Tokoyami begins to doubt his sanity.
"What are you still doing here?" Tokoyami finally spoke.
"What do you mean? Shouldn't I be asking you that? It's a bit late in the season... I thought you would be migrating?" Hawks replied.
"Migrating? Me? Well... Yes, I-I am... But shouldn't you be in Jamaica!"
"Me? Why would I be there out of all places? I don't even migrate anywhere that far north! I would be in Hawaii! Why aren't you in Africa?"
"Don't spin this on me! You told me you had flown out already! That's why you couldn't migrate with me right?"
"When have I ever said I couldn't go with you? I had mentioned to you in the previous years I've gone to Jamaica, but not this year! I told you I can't go at my usual early pace because of the weather! So I decided to stay this winter anyway! I have papers to grade!" yelled out Hawks. Tokoyami took a step back. He put his hand on his forehead and tried to keep a clear mind. He tried his brain at all that has happened recently to try to figure out where he all went wrong. He couldn't.
But I talked to Hawks earlier this week... He said he was flying out? Or maybe he said he couldn't fly out? Maybe I mistook that for he couldn't fly out with me? He definitely mentioned Jamaica... Did I just 'connect' the two without even thinking???
Tokoyami racked his mind about what had happened in the past week. He realized the person who had caused him all this trouble was still infact in the room with him. And it wasn't Hawks.
"Uraraka. Why did you make me talk to all those people? It looks like you knew Hawks was here all this time? WHY didn't you say anything? You could have saved me all this trouble instead of pushing for me to talk to all those people!" Called out Toko. Uraraka turned around and stopped the conversation she was chatting up with Aiwazawa.
"Huh? What do you mean? I never pushed you to do anything! I only suggested the idea!" She replied.
"Oh fucking bull-shit Ochako! You knew! You FUCKING knew Hawks was still here and yet you still told me to ask around!"
"Oh my god, Toko, fucking spare me! I was just going along with what you said! I didn't know at the time Hawks was still here and I just wanted to help you!"
"Help me?! At what point did you figure out that Hawks was still here, decided not to tell me, then continued to PUSH me to go on asking just so I could go to Mina's dumb FUCKING PARTY!"
"...I knew when I saw him in the courtyard. I knew when I saw him about to go up and talk to you just as I was." Tokoyami paused for a moment.
"Oh my god... That's why you pushed me to go through the dorm room doors... Thats why you wanted me out of the courtyard so badly? THATS why you told me to go up to talk to Mirio and Monoma... WHEN YOU KNEW I didn't know them... just to get me away from him? Away from the truth? For what? FOR FUCKING WHAT OCHAKO?" He cried.
Uraraka opened her mouth once more
"Maybe because I was trying to fucking help you? God! If you would get your head out of your own ass for five FUCKING seconds maybe you would see that?"
"Holy shit Ochako. FOR THE LAST GOD DAMN TIME. HOW THE FUCK WERE YOU HELPING ME?"
Uraraka took a deep breath.
"Because you're my closest friend Toko! You're all I have LEFT! I wanted to help you find a mate... And by the time I knew Hawks was still here... It was working to well. You were socializing. You were going to go to Minas party! I figured if you were still serious about finding someone in time... I could just bring you to him! I didn't know he was in here! I wanted you to try to talk to Aiwazawa last!"
"So all of this was just so I could go to a stupid costume party?"
"NO! It-god..It was so you could make new friends! So you could socialize! Don't you ever LISTEN to me?!"
"I think I stopped listening to you when I realized you entire fucking ploy of me 'making new friends' was just for your own benefit. So I could go to Minas fucking Halloween party."
"OH MY GOD TOKOYAMI! FUCKING SPARE ME! GOD FUCKING FORBID I WANT MY FRIEND TO COME OUT OF HIS SHELL FOR ONCE AND HAVE SOME FUCKING FUN!" She yelled.
"AGAIN WITH YOUR GOD DAMN FUCKING LIES! You don't care about me as a friend! You only want me to come to that party so it will validate me as a friend FOR YOU! You only care about me as a fucking replacement for Izuku since he died, and there hasn't been anyone else to listen to your problems!" As soon as Tokoyami called out his final getback, he looked over to see the tears forming in Urarakas eyes. She inched closer and pointed her index up at him.
"I trusted you. You were the ONLY one I called the night it happend. Get a fucking life Tokoyami instead of pushing everyone who tries to help you away." Tokoyami took a step back and Hawks stepped over Uraraka, blocking her with his arm.
"I think it's best you go, Fumikage."
Tokoyami, without saying a word, turned the handle and exited the staff room. he walked a few feet and thought about the past couple of days. He had talked to people he usually wouldn't. People smiled at him, they were nice to him. He had fun with Mina in her dorm, he liked watching Bakugo rage over mario cart, he enjoyed conversations with Tsu! He WANTED to go to Mina's party. He was going to go to Minas party... With or without a mate. He stopped in his tracks and began walking back.
"Look... Uraraka.. I-I'm sorry. This was all my fault, you know how I can get with my emotions. I take back all what I said. I shouldn't have been such an ass, maybe... Maybe when I'm feeling a bit better, we could get ready together for the party?" But when he reached the staff room, the door was shut and locked up tight.
