The Dursleys
Tom was congratulating himself that he hadn't started throwing curses the moment he left Harry's mind. Those filthy, undeserving muggles! No one, no one, had the right to damage what was his!
The moment Harry was asleep he had to leave the room to calm down before he hunted the monsters that left his Harry as broken as he was. Tom longed for the chance to torture them into insanity for touching his precious fiancé. But he couldn't. He didn't want to take steps backwards in his new approach. He wanted to take the Ministry officially and not due to terror. That hadn't worked the first time, it would not work now.
What were the alternatives? What could he do?
Tom ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
When he told Harry in the letter to use the ring as a portkey he never would have thought the teenager would arrive in the condition he found him in. The man shuddered at the memory of a bleeding heap in front of the living room couch. The moment Harry had appeared a house-elf came to get him. He was promptly apparated to the living room only to see what was done to his fiancè. Tom had never known what panic was but in that moment he was pretty sure he had been panicking. When Harry flinched away from his touch he just wanted to obliterate anyone who dared hurt what was his.
It was self-control on his part to avoid causing Harry more pain while he viewed the memory of his uncle beating him. That piece of muggle garbage would have killed him if the portkey wasn't available.
But the patronus message was the most suspicious. Harry's friends must have known what type of people his relatives were. Or at least they should have suspected. Why did they send such a message? How could they get Harry into this kind of trouble? Oh, how he wanted to burn the ground they walked on for getting Harry hurt!
Tom had begun running a hole into the carpet in front of his fireplace when Severus stepped into the room.
"Didn't you say Harry had to be monitored? What are you doing here?", Tom snapped at the man.
Severus raised a brow but his face remained emotionless.
"I put monitoring charms in place so he can rest peacefully. I was under the impression that you needed to talk, my Lord.", Severus said smoothly, still standing inside the doorway.
Tom didn't show his displeasure on his face but the sharp motion of his nod was enough to convey his anger. His anger didn't faze the young potions master.
Severus calmly seated himself on the sofa and waited until Tom had sat down in the armchair by the fire.
"Am I right in assuming you want to deal with Mr. Potter's relatives before we file a case about child abuse at the Ministry?"
Tom snarled quietly and was glaring daggers at Severus.
"I want them to bleed for everything they have ever done to Harry. I want to make them feel the pain he's had tenfold if not more. I want to obliterate them! I want to burn their existence from this world!", Tom growled while leaning forwards.
"Good. Then we are on the same page.", Severus said in a deadly tone.
Tom could see an icy fire reigning behind his eyes. A sudden memory of a beaten, younger Severus Snape appeared in his head. The man in front of him knew what it meant to be abused. And he seemed to regard Harry's life as highly as Tom himself did. Tom smirked.
"What do you have in mind?"
The grin Severus showed him sent a shiver down his back.
"I believe we shall pay dear Petunia and her delightful husband a visit."
Tom growled quietly.
"And when they're brought in front of the Wizengamot? It will push back any of the changes I tried to make.", the man hissed angrily.
Severus just waved his hand dismissively. Tom narrowed his eyes at the disrespect but chose not to say anything.
"I have polyjuice on hand. I assume the Lestranges as well as a few other Death Eaters are still on the loose?"
Tom grinned at Severus' idea. That would solve two problems he had. One, he could take revenge on Harry's relatives, two he could get Bellatrix and the other rogue Death Eaters back into Azkaban.
"Alright, Severus. Then tell me, whose hair you have in your stocks."
Surrey was a disgusting suburban area where every house looked the same and the front yards all looked meticulously well kept. Tom sneered at the houses full of scum. Muggles, in his opinion, were the worst kind of humans. Fighting wars over such idiotic things like whom believed in which god or discriminating against a different skin colour. Innovating weapons that could take out all of humankind, including the wizards. The wizards needed more security lest the muggles uncovered them and decided to obliterate the threat they posed.
Severus guided them to the right house number and they stopped before the door. Tom looked to his right and could see the same bewildered expression he was wearing. Of course Severus was now embodying Bellatrix Lestrange while he himself was Rodolphus Lestrange. They were currently on the run as Tom had relieved them of their duties as his followers. Those he didn't want in Azkaban and those he couldn't do without would need another meeting. He needed to make the Marks invisible to anyone not wearing a Dark Mark.
"There are no bloodwards.", Severus said in Bellatrix' high crackling voice.
Tom grimaced at the sound. He always hated her voice. In his insanity he had tortured her just for speaking. He should have done more torturing.
"I imagine it has something to do with their treatment of him. Blood wards only form when there is love. I cannot imagine this filth showing love to Harry. Or Harry loving them for that matter.", Tom said and startled at his own voice.
Rodolphus had a rough undertone that Tom as himself would always try to avoid when talking. At least he wouldn't need to get used to it for long.
Severus pounded his fist on the door and waited. They had decided on a sunny afternoon when most people would be home so most of the neighbours would see both Bellatrix and Rodolphus. It would make it more believable.
They could hear heavy footsteps from inside the house before the door was flung open.
"We won't buy anything so you can leave-" The whale like man broke off at the sight of them both.
Tom could hear Bellatrix cackle and a smirk worked its way onto his face.
"We should talk inside.", Tom said.
The whale like men, Harry's uncle if he remembered correctly, went beetred and spluttered indignantly.
"Now see here - who are you to come onto my property and demand entrance to my house!?", the man screamed.
Soft footsteps drew nearer and a woman with a horse-like face appeared next to the man.
"Vernon, what is happening?", she asked before her gaze fell on him and Severus.
The colour drained out of her face rapidly.
"Vernon it is. Then Vernon we demand entrance because we want to have a nice little chat about your nephew.", Severus sing-songed in true Bellatrix-fashion.
Tom was impressed with how good of an actor his follower was.
Tom pushed both muggles back into the house with a wave of his magic, making them stumble and land on their butt. Tom laughed at their stunned looks.
"You're freaks!", the muggles raged and Tom stopped laughing.
He narrowed his eyes at them before letting his magic loose. The window frames rattled, the wall was cracking and the floor shook as if an earthquake was happening.
"You dare and say it to my face?!", Tom roared.
The woman whimpered in fear while the man lost all of the colour in his face. Both tried to scramble further away from them but Tom waved his wand and glued them to the floor. He would unstick them soon, after all he wanted to witness their writhing and begging.
"Ohhh, are you scared? How delightful!", Bellatrix' voice resonated through the hallway. "You damaged something my Lord considers his! Now you will be damaged!"
The muggles shuddered at the obvious joy in the high voice and Tom could only agree. Who would've known that Severus was such a convincing actor?
"Please, we never wanted that freak! He was thrown into our perfect little family! He's an abomination and it would have done the world good if he had died!", Vernon yelled.
Tom saw red. He unstuck the muggle and whispered furiously: "Crucio."
The muggle man screamed and writhed on the floor in invisible agony. Spit and tears escaped from his mouth while he convulsed on the floor. Tom held the spell for almost a minute before he let it go. After all, he intended to do much more damage.
"The 'freak' you are talking about is currently in a medically induced sleep to help heal his multiple injuries. Injuries he received from you!", Tom said icily.
The muggle was coughing and twitching on the floor. The woman was holding a hand on her heart and sobbing quietly. He heard Bellatrix cackle again and looked to his right. On Bellatrix' face was the most joyful expression he has seen in quite some time. Tom felt a small amount of unease about the quality of Severus' acting. He shoved the unease behind secure occlumency barriers. Maybe he should have sent Severus on more raids. On the other hand could his joy come from the familiar relation he had with the woman? He needed to find out later, for now he needed to torture some filthy scum.
He turned back to the muggles on the floor. He was about to cast another curse when he heard a quiet: "Mom? Dad?"
Tom and Severus turned around and their gaze fell on an overweight boy looking quite similar to the walrus of a man. Their child it seemed.
"It-it's alright Diddykins. Go back to your room.", the woman said tightly.
There was fear in her eyes, a desperation in her voice to just have the boy walk back into his room.
Tom smirked. So the boy was important to them.
"I believe he shall stay.", Tom said.
The woman's face looked green at the thought and mutely she shook her head, begging with her eyes to not do something to her son.
Bellatrix cackled again.
"Diddykins! How about ickle Diddykins comes here and watches?", Bellatrix (Severus - Tom reminded himself) trilled.
The boy was about to move when the fat muggle coughed out a 'no'.
Tom glared at the man and took a step towards him. Both muggles flinched away in fear.
"You have no authority right now to tell anyone what to do, muggle.", Tom hissed furiously. "I will make sure that everyone who dared to hurt my Lord's fiancé will get what they deserved."
It was strange to talk about himself in third person. He knew he had done it at the graveyard but right now Tom cringed away from the feeling it gave him.
The muggle kid tried to leave but Severus was faster and just summoned the boy to him. The fat thing shrieked and trembled in fear standing in front of a madly grinning Bellatrix.
"Good, now that the family is complete we shall commence with the punishment. I will cast a spell for every injury and insult you threw at your nephew. As I know his full history, we shall be occupied for a while. That's why I brought my lovely wife to help me.", Tom explained and for the first time since his school days he let his face be split by a truly maniacal grin.
The muggle man was on his hands and knees. With a flourish of his wand the shirt the man was wearing vanished.
"Let us start with some cuts as you were so fond of belting your nephew. Diffindo."
A deep cut formed on the back of the man and he whimpered in pain. Slashing his wand furiously more and more cuts appeared. After the tenth cut blood began to drop from his back. The muggle was whimpering and sobbing, having dropped to the floor due to the pain halfway through Tom's wand movements.
Tom paused his slashing after the only thing he could see was blood and open skin. That was for the belting. Maybe he should also do something for the beatings? He summoned a small baseball bat and let it attack the man's head. The moment the muggle vomited on the floor Tom stopped his attacks.
Unfortunately for him the muggle didn't have enough stamina to be tortured further in a physical fashion. Maybe an approach to his psyche?
A shriek made him turn around. He saw the form of Bellatrix behind the woman, gripping her neck and squeezing hard enough to make the woman's eyes pop. Bellatrix' cackling resonated through the house.
The woman already had several open wounds, from her thighs up to her neck, colouring her dress a deep red. It seemed the gashes were from a knife but he couldn't see one. There was no spell residue either. What the hell?
The boy was sitting on his butt and staring incomprehensibly at his parents. Tom thought about killing him, just to make his parents see reason. But something held him back. He knew Harry wouldn't want them dead, no matter what they did to him. He could fuck with the boy's mind, though.
But first he would make his parents watch him writhe on the ground.
"Let's see how you like watching your son in pain.", Tom said grinning.
He threw a Crucio at the boy and watched as both parents tried to help their son. The woman was held back by Bellatrix while the man couldn't move a muscle after the beating he took.
Tom lifted the spell after a minute."Your nephew was stronger than you will ever be. He was able to move and work after being beaten to a pulp. You are weak!", Tom hissed angrily.
Now it was just the mind of them he needed to leave in tatters.
Entering the teenager's mind was simple enough. He violently sifted through the memories, leaving lacerations at the edges of each memory of Harry, making it painful to remember his cousin. Tom also left deep cuts on happy memories with his parents. This boy didn't deserve the doting parents he had grown up with. He didn't deserve to have these good memories while his Harry had such painful ones.
When he finally left the tattered mind, the boy was clutching his head, moaning in pain. The child will have a headache for the rest of his life.
The muggles were all on the ground, whimpering in pain and fear.
"My dear.", he called Severus to him.
Bellatrix moved quickly to him.
"I left the boy's mind in tatters to make any happy memory of his parents painful to him. I will leave the woman for you as you have a personal relation to her. I will take the man.", Tom explained.
Bellatrix' head bobbed up and down in agreement and both quickly entered their victim's mind.
The man's mind was disgusting. Tom moved as quickly as he dared to not render the man useless against the questioning of the Wizengamot. He still wanted them executed in a trial.
For good measure and as a parting gift, Tom threw a particularly sinister Crucio at all three of them, watching them writhe on the floor in agony.
As he and Severus left, the family was laying bloodied, broken and sobbing on the floor. They deserved to suffer more but Tom still wanted them sentenced to Azkaban. A death sentence to all muggles.
For now he needed to be back at Harry's side. The teenager still hadn't awoken from his medically induced sleep and it was making both Tom and Severus worry.
After they turned back into their own bodies, Tom invited Severus to sit with him in his living room. A glass of wine appeared for both of them. Tom watched Severus curiously.
"Is something the matter, My Lord?", Severus asked.
"I was just wondering if I did you a disservice in not sending you on as many raids as I could have."
The potions master jolted.
"No, My Lord. I do not like torturing innocents. If you are referring to my behaviour this afternoon; I take great joy in knowing I have given back some of the pain Lily as well as Mr. Potter felt at the hands of Petunia.", Severus explained. "I wanted to cut out her tongue for the insults she had thrown at Lily as well as Lily's son but she needed to be able to talk in front of the Wizengamot."
The calm demeanor in which Severus told him this showed how much he wanted for that woman to hurt.
"I will leave it at that. Rest Severus, I will take over watching Harry for the night.", Tom ordered and stood.
The potions master bowed briefly and left for his guest room at the end of the hall.
Tom walked quickly into Harry's room and sat at his bedside. Hopefully he would not be too mad about them taking justice into their own hands. If he ever found out about it, that is.
