Chapter 7
Hermione wanted a change. Pansy wanted to explore the muggle world and muggle fashion. Harry wanted an escape. Draco follows Hermione where she wants to go.
That’s how the foursome found themselves wandering London and following pansy into any high end store she could find, how she was able to connect a muggle credit card to her Gringotts account is still a mystery.
They had left Hogwarts pretty early in the morning and Hermione had brought up the idea of spending the night since it was a Saturday, that way Draco, Harry and Pansy could experience going to a muggle club, having all agreed, Pansy saw this as an opportunity to buy Hermione a new dress-if you could even call it that. The only reason Hermione had kept the dress on was the fact that she enjoyed the way Draco looked at her and ignored every other girl in the club except for her and the bartender. They had a great time until a muggle tried looking up Pansys’ mini skirt and Harry had nearly pulled his wand, they called it a night.
On the walk back to their hotel, an expensive one because Draco refused to sleep in anything but the finest rooms, Hermione had spotted a tattoo and piercing parlour, having noticed she stopped Harry walked up to her “Want to go in?” he asked to which he only received a nod.
Following them in Draco and pansy were shocked to say the least, there were two girls in the piercing chairs and a man in the tattoo chair, Hermione watched as one of the girls got her belly button pierced and the other got her nose done, glancing at the price list, she made a decision and wrote her name on the wait list. Harry on the other hand was looking at a binder of tattoos, “Planning on getting one?” Draco asked, “Maybe, I want to ask Hermione if she wants to get a matching one, you wouldn’t mind if she did, would you?”
“I don’t tell her what to do, nor would I dare try, she’s frightening.”
“I wonder what she’s writing on the clip board?” Pansy asked walking up to the duo, Harry just shrugged, “I don’t want to seem rude but I’ve seen you two stare at your marks like you can just will them away if you stare hard enough, have you ever thought about tattoos?”
“We’ve tried magic ones, they don’t stick like glamour charms don’t.”
“What about a muggle one?”
“Maybe…”
“If Hermione agrees just watch us get them and we can decide tomorrow or tonight..” As they made to respond they saw Hermione standing by the piercing chair, her dress magically made into a crop top and skirt as a man sat in front of her with a marker. It takes them a moment before they realise what she’s doing and it’s not until she stands up and turns to face them that they notice she’s gotten a belly button piercing. “Oh my goodness!” Pansy says excitedly “it’s looks so good!” Hermione hands the man her muggle money and sheepishly smiles, “you think so?” She asks tentatively.
“Of course it looks good Hermione, and sparkly.” Harry says hitting Draco’s arm so he says something instead of staring at his best friend, which would have been a good idea if the only word to come out of Draco’s mouth hadn’t been “hot.” Hermione just giggled and wrapped her arm around Draco’s waist.
“Hermione, do you maybe want to get matching tattoos…” Harry asked much more unsure about the question than he was earlier, “What are we getting?”
“I was thinking the word ‘Always’ in each other’s hand writing.”
“Okay” while Harry was talking to the tattoo guy about where he wanted his tattoo, he had chosen his left bicep to place Hermione’s neat cursive script. Hermione had walked up to Draco, who was looking through a binder, having made an agreement with Pansy that she’d pay with her muggle card and he’d transfer the galleons to her account on Monday. “Are you going to get one?” Hermione asked, “I’m going to cover the mark.” He said putting the binder down and pulling her to stand between his legs, “What are you getting?”
“I don’t know yet, do you want to help me decide?” She simply nodded and picked up a book of flowers pausing when she saw the narcissus flowers “you only got it to protect your mother?” Hermione asked “Yea, what good that did, Bellatrix killed her the moment Harry had stood back up, I don’t blame Harry of course but, it makes everything I did feel useless.”
“I’m sorry Draco,” Hermione kisses his cheek, “look,” she says handing him the picture of narcissus flowers “why don’t you cover it with a reminder of why you got it in the first place?”
“Narcissus flowers…” with that he made his decision, but without her knowing Draco had also taken a look at the September birth flowers, morning glories, for a glorious witch, and pansys, for the witch who stayed by his side through everything, it seemed poetic to him, a bouquet of flowers with flowers representing the witch he was trying to save, and the two witches who unknowingly saved him. Eventually he felt Hermione stand up and lift her shirt slightly to get Harry’s much messier scrawl below her left breast.
Pansy on the other hand was still unsure and asked if they could come back tomorrow to which the group agreed. After Draco had gotten his done and it stuck, to his relief, he showed Hermione “I understand the Pansys, and the Narcissus, but the morning glories?” She asked as he cupped her face, “morning glories, September birth flowers, fitting for the most glorious woman I know.”
“You got Pansies tattooed on you?” Pansy had asked with tears in her eyes. “You stuck by me Pans, I could let that go unacknowledged.” He was convinced that if she hugged him any tighter he would’ve needed medical attention.
“Pansy, why didn’t you want one tonight?”
“They’re just so permanent, I want it to be good.”
“You’re good at drawing, you’re able to draw your own design.”
“Wait really?”
“Yeah.”
“Thank you, Harry.”
“Do you like your tattoo?”
“It hurt a bit but just a pinch. Not as bad as the one it’s covering.”
“You’re more than just that mark, if you weren’t you wouldn’t be walking in muggle London with a muggle-born.”
“I know, why did you and Harry get the word always?”
“Snape, everything he did was for Harry’s mom, and when he was asked about it he simply said ‘always’ which, now the word means something to Harry, like we’ll always be there for each other, we’ll always love each other, I’ll always be his sister and he’ll always be my brother. So it makes the most sense.”
“Is that why Snape hated Harry?”
“No, he hated him because he looks like his father James.”
“And what made you want to get a piercing? Don’t get me wrong I meant what i said, it’s hot. But why?”
“It was something new, something no one would think I’d do.”
“You really are something, Minnie.”
