1981
“It's a trick to make you see wide”
“Garage. Drive to the garage”
Apparently, Remus had been living above his workplace the entire time. It was a tiny attic flat that splat into a small, cramped bedroom and an equally small living room where Remus gently placed Nymphadora down on the grey couch, telling Mary where to find the supplies she needed while driving his fingers through the pink strands of Nymphadora's hair, a forlorn tremor in his upper lip. He looked like a helpless creature.
It was an unwelcome reminder of the last time Sirius had seen him before he’d got taken away. Remus was at his most vulnerable whenever it concerned his friends, instead of himself, and Sirius hated it. He despised it.
Mary returned with a med-kit she must have founded in the bathroom, shooing Remus away while she replaced him on the couch. Without looking up, she asked “Sirius, can you keep him busy? His pacing is distracting me”
Before Remus could let out the stream of curses he so clearly wanted to, Sirius grabbed a fistful of his brown sweater and dragged him into the bedroom, forcing him to sit down.
“Sirius!”
“Relax, Moony. We're only three feet away”
Remus looked up at him, eyes twitching back and forth before he finally let out a drained sigh and buried his face in his hands “This is all my fault”
“I don't see how Nymphadora being involved in drugs is your fault”
“You don't understand”
“Explain it to me then”
“She- I could have stopped her. I mean, I tried, I told her it's only going to get worse, but I should have tried more. I should have-”
“Nymphadora is an adult” Sirius said “And an addict. Do you know why addicts better get their help at clinics? Because it's nearly impossible to argue with them”
“But I'm her best friend-”
“Remus. You can't be responsible for everyone”
“It's Dora!”
“I know”
“I didn't try hard enough”
Sirius sat down and tried to catch his gaze “Look at me”
“I just-”
“Remus, look at me” after an eternity, he finally did, a wild animal, caught in a trap “I wasn't there in the last four years, but I know enough about you to know that you wouldn't let anything happen to your family. Never. Damn it, you love them more than yourself, so don't take the blame. Not again”
“You think she'll be okay?”
“She doesn't look too bad, and Mary's good”
Remus swallowed “I'm glad she was with you, but- didn't you say you weren't looking for that?” if Sirius wasn’t wrong, and he rarely was, it almost sounded like Remus was annoyed, a suggestion of betrayal in his brittle voice. Though Sirius decided to bring that up later, given that they had more urgent matters to deal with right now.
“I saw an opportunity, and I took it” he told him, keeping it deliberately vague because it wouldn't have been fun otherwise.
Remus scowled. Then he let out another stuttered breath and broke the eye contact “Can you check if she's okay for me?”
“Sure”.
Mary had just finished the check-up when Sirius came in. Nymphadora was fine, her nausea and confusion coming from a dose too high but, thankfully, not lethal. A bad trip, one might’ve said. They briefly discussed the plan for tonight before he returned to the bedroom with a quick sandwich he had slapped together for Remus, forcing him to eat a little and then relax. Soon they both retired to the living room and individually spread out across the couch and the floor, taking turns monitoring Nymphadora's condition. To no one's surprise, Remus tried to stay awake the whole time because he didn't know when to stop and take a break, but eventually, around ten o'clock, he passed out, curled up in a ball next to his… best friend? Girlfriend? Roommate?
Sirius suspected it was the first and the last only, not having seen anything more than platonic friendship between the two of them, but if there was one thing that he had learned about Remus ever since he had returned to Islington, it was that his tall scarred man was full of surprises.
The drug problem was one of them. They would’ve had to talk about Nymphadora's addiction one way or another, though Sirius was sure Remus wouldn't have made it easy. It made sense, in hindsight. Why Remus still had to work several jobs to afford such a tiny shared apartment. Why he was so attached to her. Why he didn't like spending time too far away. She was his responsibility, and Remus would’ve rather walked straight into hell than give up on someone he loved.
Mary, who was cuddled up in a bean chair, snorted quietly “And I thought I would get you all tangled up in my life when it's the other way around”
“Thank you for doing this. I know you didn't have to”
“Well” she nodded over at Remus “It would have crushed him if I hadn't done anything, and that would've pissed you off. I prefer to keep my business partners happy”
Sirius let his head fall back, closing his eyes “Moony can get annoying about his friends. That's why”
“Uh-uh”
They spent the entire night like that until Nymphadora finally woke up early in the morning, groggy and confused. Sirius volunteered to go for a coffee run, partly because they all needed it after the last twelve hours and partly because he was not interested in seeing Remus's heartfelt reunion with the very person ruining him. Using him. Again.
He was climbing down the stairs, yawning when he almost stumbles into Grant, who was probably there to work.
“Oh, Sirius. Mornin'“
“Hello” Sirius said, already looking for a way to step past him.
“So, I see you guys finally figured it out, huh?”
“Excuse me?”
Grant waved his hand through the air as he grabbed a few tools from the shelf “You and Remus. I mean, I had no doubts about it, but Remus's stubborn as hell about that stuff, I would know, and you seemed to be content with playing the chase. No offense. Anyways, I'm glad you did. The pining got boring after a while”
Sirius blinked “I spent the night there because of an accident”
Grant's smug grin falters into a wide-eyed, almost panicked expression “Oh, you didn't- I mean, forget it then. I didn't say anything”
“Yes” Sirius said slowly “Forget it” he continued staring at him blankly until Grant scurried away like he was being chased by a hive of wasps. Good.
He found the nearest milk cafe in a daze.
Sirius couldn't decide what bothered him more. The fact that Grant knew more about what was going on inside Remus's head than him, or the fact that Sirius was too blind to see the truth himself. That maybe what he had assumed was Remus being distant and different and occupied, was Remus hiding his feelings.
When he came back, Nymphadora was sitting at the table. She looked beat down, but conscious and alert, her gaze slipping to Sirius for a mere second before returning to whatever medical advice Mary was giving her right now. It seemed like no matter how much the two of them would’ve ever loved Remus - and Sirius was being generous using that word for the way Nymphadora had mostly used Remus's love instead - they wouldn't have ever got along outside of that Moony-shaped bubble. That was probably for the best.
“You're a live-saver” Remus groaned happily as he made grabby hands at the tray of coffees Sirius was carrying. Sirius gave him the black, sugarless one, knowing that it was his preferred and disgusting way of drinking it, with a little chocolate bar he had took along the way.
“Yes, I am” Sirius chirped, masking the itch to address Grant's remarks with manufactured cheer. That must’ve waited until they were alone. He didn't want to have that conversation with both Nymphadora and Mary only four feet away “How's the patient doing? She's up and awake, I see”
“She was in some pain, but Mary gave her some pills. We're waiting until we can safely go to the hospital to let it get checked out”
“And what about you?”
“What about me?” Remus asked the puzzlement on his face, nothing but the crystalline truth. Sirius wanted to reach his hand inside and rewire his brain, or, even better, that big heart of his that continually got him in trouble.
“How are you doing, you big idiot? You had ten near-meltdowns yesterday”
Remus puffed out a soft breath, tucking his hair behind his ear “I'm fine”
“I'm pretty sure you don't know even the meaning of that word”
“I do, asshole. I've had a perfectly reasonable reaction for that kind of situation”
“Mh. I want a shower and a change of clothes. Do you fancy giving me a ride?”
Remus's eyes narrow “You can have that here”
“I'm not going to put one of your oversized sweaters” Sirius told him, only half-lying about his reasons
“You didn’t say anything about the jacket” Sirius totally ignored him
“Besides, you could use some fresh air and a distraction”
“But Dora-”
“I'm sure the girls can handle themselves for an hour”
A visible mental battle happened in Remus's expression before he finally gave in with a sigh “Fine. I owe you this one”
More like to Mary, but Sirius was okay with stealing the credit if it gave him a few moments of privacy with Remus. After informing the two women where they were going, they walked to the car in companionable silence, thankfully without any run-ins with Grant this time.
Sirius didn't mention any of the topics burning through the flesh of his tongue on the ride to his apartment, instead filling the silence with easy questions to get Remus's mind off Nymphadora and whatever hardships they would’ve most likely faced in the future. Instead, he asked about his other job, a bartender gig. About the nice gentleman who owned the garage that had took him in. About Poppy.
Back at the apartment, Remus curiously glanced around, taking in every little detail of Sirius's home. That was always one of the things that fascinated Sirius. Remus's unparalleled ability to drink in the colors of the world, no matter how little or much he got to see of them.
Sirius let life pass it in front of his eyes, and then before he could even blink, it was gone.
They were in the bedroom, Sirius taking his sweet time digging through his closet and using it to formulate the perfect approach. He didn't want to scare Remus away, though who was he lying to? Remus was anything but a coward. He just didn't want to overwhelm him or come off as desperate when he was actually curious.
He wanted the middle, and maybe an inch more.
It was when Remus was curiously looking at one framed picture on the wall in his hallway that Sirius sidled up to him and said “So I ran into Grant earlier. He said something very interesting”
“Yeah?” Remus hummed, barely listening.
“He said he's happy that we finally figured it out. Apparently, he got sick of you, and I quote, pining”
Remus froze. Time slowed down around them, and for once, Sirius tried to be there, to be present as Remus turned to look at him, and drink in the delicious war of emotions on his face like it was his personal lifeblood. It certainly felt like it.
“Oh” he eventually said, the words feather-light, pitching upwards at the end.
“Help me out here. What did he mean by that? I'm too stupid to figure it out”
Without missing a beat, Remus said “Grant thinks we fucked”
Sirius tilted his head. There was a feeling in his chest, something vibrating and hopping around, making him feel lightheaded. It might’ve been his heart “Now, why would Grant think that?”
“Didn't anyone ever tell you that playing dumb isn't cute?”
“I have a feeling you like it anyway”
“Your feeling is full of shit”
“Remus”
“What?” Remus snapped
“You're attracted to me” Sirius stated. If Remus wanted the naked truth, then here it was “And I'm attracted to you. I realize now that I'm at fault for that too. I guess I wasn't clear enough on that front. But, to be fair, you weren't either”
“What are you saying?” Remus asked in a breath, taking Sirius's with it.
“I'm saying that I want this”
“What about Mary?”
“My life is easier without my mother meddling in my life. What about Nymphadora?”
“She- it's not really like that”
“Not really” Sirius repeated, not liking how unsure and vague that sounded. These two words could’ve meant everything from Nymphadora thinking they were in a relationship either way to both of them going through the motions just to convince themselves of something “Does she know that?”
“Yes”
“Then I don't see any single reason why we should deny ourselves of this” Sirius said, taking a step to the side, so he was across from Remus, facing him.
“I might hurt you” Remus murmured as he winded his fingers to Sirius’ hair, tugging him closer “And you hate pain”
“I would hurt you back” Sirius said. It was a lie. Out of all the people he would’ve like to see bleeding, Remus was the last of them. Instead, Sirius would’ve liked to see a bunch of different emotions on him; all but pain.
Remus snorted softly, and they were so close now that Sirius felt it on his face, the motion making his skin dance with goosebumps. His fingers travelled down until they're wrapping around Sirius's hands and pull them up, tangling them in his brown curls “Like that” he murmured, biting his lip.
Sirius nodded.
An electric moment passed, and then one of them must’ve moved forward- Sirius was not sure who because the next second their lips were pressed against each other, warm and soft, and his mind went blank.
It didn't often happen, that peaceful silence.
When Sirius cut. When he drank too many glasses of gin. Sometimes when he was sitting in the Shrieking Shack and talking to James and Lily about everything and nothing.
When Remus kissed him.
Remus's hands tighten ever so slightly in the dark locks, angling his head a bit and deepening the kiss until Sirius made a desperate little sound that he hungrily swallowed. Throughout the last four years, Sirius had learned that there were ways to make the experience more enjoyable. He had felt the tingle of lips and the hot curl of his stomach a few times with Marlene (before she had realized men weren’t exactly her thing), as well as with nameless strangers from shabby barbs with neon lights, but he was never hungry, never craving every last slide of lips like the next shot of liquor. Not like this.
Remus gripped the back of his neck and gently pushed them around so that Sirius was the one pressed against the wall. It elicited an embarrassing sound from him that Remus used to lick into his mouth, rubbing their tongues together. It was-
“We” Remus murmured against the corner of his mouth, breath hot “Should probably get going”
Sirius made a face “We can say we got lost”
“Yeah, no. Mary seems way too smart to buy that” he took a step back and drove a hand through his hair. “I'm still worried about Dora”
Sirius repressed the urge to roll his eyes like a child, instead puffing off his clothes and then grabbing all the necessary things from the counter “Of course”
“You don't like her, do you?”
“Who? Nymphadora?”
“Who else, jackass?”
They stepped out into the stairwell “She’s not my favorite person. You’re right”
“She's good” Remus said, though he lacked his usual temperament “Give her a chance”
Sirius shook his head as he threw open the door of his car “She's a mess; that's what she is. Nymphadora has a drug problem, and instead of getting help, she's dragging you down with her” Remus opened his mouth to argue, but Sirius cut him off with his index finger “I've been asking myself why you have to juggle several jobs at once, and no offense, your apartment simply isn't big enough for all the money you must be making. I see why though now. You're spending it all to help her get her fix”
“It's not as simple as you make it sound”
“You keep saying that, but I think you're afraid to see the truth”
“And what would that be, huh?”
“That you keep on giving and giving all of yourself to the people you love. It would be admirable if you didn't end up in the shit's creek because you give everything and are left with nothing”
Remus huffed out a breath “I'm not giving away everything, idiot. I just help out my friends because it’s the decent thing to do. That’s all”
“Did they ever help you?” Sirius leveled a stare at him when he stopped because of a traffic light “When your foster man was beating you black and blue, and you let him so he wouldn't touch the others, did they even try to stop you?”
“It's not-” Remus trailed off with a long sigh and turned his head away to look out of the window “Just leave it, Sirius. You wouldn't understand anyway”
Maybe that was true. Maybe the two of them were too fundamentally different to ever be on the same page. Sirius too rational and clear and Remus's heart too fucking big for his own good. But that didn't mean it was not worth discussing.
Sirius softened his voice before speaking “I won't back off just because you get angry hearing the truth. And-” he quickly added, knowing Remus's temper was already flaring “You won't run away just because you don't like what I'm saying. We're adults”
“Fine, but I won't let you act like you're some all-knowing God” Remus snapped “It's my damn life. Just because we’re fucking around now, doesn't mean you get to stick your head into my personal shit again”
Again.
“We haven't fucked yet, Moony...”
“A figure of speech, Padfoot”
Sirius let a smile roll over his face as he stepped on the gas “But speaking of sexual acts...”
Remus groaned.
“...would you like to have dinner with me this week?”
He saw Remus eye him out of the corner of his eye “As in a date? Because- I'm not- we're-”
“Relax, Remus. I said dinner, not arrangements for a lifelong relationship. I don't know about you, but I find jumping straight into bed with someone, even if I know the person, quite blunt”
Letting out a quiet breath, Remus shrugged “Yeah. Okay. Sounds good. I work every day, though”
“Even on Sunday?”
“Yeah”
“After work then?”
“I guess”
“Good. I'll pick you up?”
Remus met his gaze for a brief moment “Take Louve”
They arrived back at the workshop not much later, Remus immediately trotting up the stairs to check on Nymphadora, who was doing better, being regularly checked by Mary. Although his cooking skills weren't the best, Sirius volunteered to make something, knowing Remus wouldn't have cared enough to put something in his own stomach, too busy asking Nymphadora how she was doing every few seconds. It was an awkward dinner, Nymphadora both skirting around the topic of what had happened and avoiding any eye contact with Sirius while Remus acted like nothing had happened and Mary idly humored all of them.
When he left home that day, after managing to steal another kiss from Remus out in the hallway where no one saw, he was satisfied with the outcome. Sure. The problem remained though. And it went by the name Nymphadora.
After several long and draining days at the Black Company that left Sirius with the wish to drown in a pool of liquor, Minerva chasing him from one task to another and the managing directors opposing Sirius's suggestions every step of the way even though his strategies were excellent, he very much was looking forward to the date with Remus. He wouldn't have even been opposed to an uncomplicated night of good food and several drinks, willing to miss out on whatever might’ve came in the bedroom afterward, just so he could hear anyone's voice beside his co-workers.
As promised, he picked Remus up and drove him to a cozy-looking restaurant he had seen in the town's magazine a few days ago, not wanting to ruin his own night by going to one that he had used to visit with his father and Reg. It was full of golden fairy lights, not too fancy, and Sirius, as always, knew he had made the right decision when they sat down at the table for two that the hostess had lead them to.
Remus seemed a bit tense, in comparison, which Sirius decided not to comment on for the time being. Time would’ve helped.
“How's Nymphadora?” Sirius finally asked once the food had been served.
Remus shrugged “She's fine. Mary even stepped by two times to check on her. Thank her from me”
“I'm sure you already did, but I will. How is Nymphadora’s family?”
Dark eyes snap up, blinking “Huh?”
Sirius let out a breath, tilting his head “You're juggling several jobs and looking after a drug addict. That must be exhausting. How are you?”
“Don't call her that” he saw Remus's fists clench on the table, his whole body stiffening for a moment. “Nymphadora has a problem, but she's more than that”
“I didn't say she wasn’t”
“You only implied it”
“I just want to know how you're doing” Sirius said “My priority will always be you and not Nymphadora. I'm not going to apologize for that, Remus”
Remus's stare remained red-hot for another second before the anger drained out of him, and he swallowed “I know. Let's just... eat”
The evening could’ve been smoother, less stiff, but the dinner was still nice, and aside from the tension that came up whenever Sirius even just got close near the topic of Nymphadora and drugs, they got along just fine. It was good. His childhood wasn’t one grand delusion. They could be friends. It wasn't just his own wishful thinking.
When the waiter arrived to give them the check, Sirius saw Remus scramble for his wallet and decided to stop it “I'm paying for tonight, Moony. Let it go”
“This isn't a date, you said, so you don't have to”
“It was my suggestion and therefore it is my treat”
“Sirius”
“Remus” he replied, raising his brows “You can pay next time or the thousand ones after. Just let me”
Remus was clearly not happy with it, too fucking stubborn for his own damn good, but he gave in with a full-body sigh and stared out of the window when Sirius handed over the money with a polite smile.
It was only when they arrived at Sirius's apartment, finally, a decision that they both agreed on without any arguments, the thud of the door incredibly loud, that Sirius addressed Remus's nerves. They had been together for hours now. Either Remus was really nervous, which Sirius doubted, or there was something else that was wrong.
“Remus”
“Yeah?”
“What's wrong?” Sirius crossed the distance between them until he was standing in front of Remus, where he was been staring out of the bedroom window for far too long “And don't say anything. Something is clearly bugging you, and I refuse to do this when you're mentally not here”
“I-” Remus's gaze fluttered to him, a storm of emotions passing through in an instant “You said you want sex. And I don't know if I can give you what you want”
Sirius's brows furrowed “What do you mean?”
“I have boundaries. A lot. And this-” he waved a hand between them “-is supposed to be just fucking. Not...”
“Remus” Sirius said, and the vowels hurt “I only offered because I thought you were into it as well. If you don't want to-”
“No” Remus cut in firmly “I want this. Fuck, you're disgustingly attractive, and I've thought about this more times than I can count, but… sex can be icky”
“I'm fine with whatever you're open to. It's not like I have much experience myself-”
Remus's eyes widened “You're a virgin?”
“No” Sirius huffed out a laugh despite himself “But I haven't been with men before. I've kissed some. I’ve kissed you. And I like it. Like, I know how to do it, but I… never did”
“How did you-”
“Me, Marlene, Barty and Evan had like… like a thing. We were all drunk, and kind of sad, and-”
“Fuck you had a foursome”
“Yeah, but like, I had been with Marlene almost all the time” yeah, Barty had just got rejected from Regulus (and just found out he and James were together) and was slutting with anyone he could get his eyes on, and when he saw someone so resembling Reg, he had asked right away. Sirius didn’t like Barty, not in that way, nor Marlene, but so desperately wanted to do something his mother wouldn’t have approved just because he could, and he had found it all kind of sad, since that blonde guy couldn’t take his eyes off Barty, and Barty was thinking of someone else.
It had been pure chaos, fucking atrocious chaos.
“Have you?”
“Yeah”
Sirius let that linger “I'm not going to push” Never.
“Yeah, okay. Fine”
That was what he said, but he still didn't look 100% sure of it, so Sirius gently tugged at his brown and yellow sweater “We can try some other day...”
“Shut up” Remus huffed, rolling his eyes, as he closed the distance, taking Sirius from the hips to lift him and get him to his height, not enough to not let him have the points of his feet to the ground “Yes?”
He closes his eyes “Yes”
Remus's lips were soft, but his kiss was hard, eager, and driven, undoing Sirius right then and there with only his mouth until he released a rather embarrassing little sound when he drew away. There was a smirk on his face though. Something that Sirius loved; something that he had missed like breathing the last years of his life. With that same fire in his eyes, Sirius guided him to the bed until Remus was sitting and Sirius was climbing on his lap, his fingers traveling down his neck, leaving scorch marks on their way.
“Like this” Sirius murmurs, positioning Remus's hands in his hair and clothes “This is good”
And it was good. Sirius's hair was soft and silky, and Remus enjoyed the shiver he felt against his mouth whenever he drove through his hair, fingers spreading and lightly scratching his scalp. Of course, Sirius didn't let that sit for long. He opened Sirius up with skill and finesse, his hips grinding forward against Remus's crotch, creating friction that left Remus gasping for breath. Sirius licked inside his mouth, guiding his tongue over the roof of his mouth as if he had always known that it was one of the places that made Remus dizzy the most.
They kissed, and it was better than any of the pain killers Sirius had taken in a futile effort to silence his mind. They kissed, and his skin burns, but for once, it was not with the desire to cut.
“Can I?” Sirius asks, his lips hovering against the corner of Remus's mouth as his fingers touched his zipper
“Yes”
They worked together on getting both the pants and the briefs off, fumbling and chuckling when Sirius nearly fell off the bed in the process, but in the end, Remus was naked - from the waist down, at least - and the hungry look in Sirius's eyes made his stomach curl.
Sirius lied down, one hand curling around the shaft with an expert grip, his thumb tracing up the length of a vein. Remus sat and watched. Even if someone had held the barrel of a gun against his temple, telling him to stop, he'd have just pressed his forehead against it; he wouldn't have been able to tear his eyes away.
Remus's half-erection grew hard and heavy as Sirius stroked him slowly, eventually leaning closer to give him a hello lick where the precum had gathered at the tip. He worked his down from up there, pressing sloppy, open-mouthed kisses down the length of his cock, making an excruciating slow stop at the base, giving the spot right above his balls a suck.
“God” Remus couldn't help but run his fingers through Sirius's hair, tucking a few loose strands behind his hair because he was good; it felt so good.
Sirius's eyes flicked up at him, pupils blown and dark, and he held Remus's gaze as he sucked the head of his cock into his mouth, his hand jacking the shaft. The effect was monstrous.
“Jesus” Remus muttered, curling his fingers in the sheets like his life depended on it “You're so good at that. Where have you been hiding all my life?”
Stretched around him, Sirius's mouth grimaces a bit, but Remus could tell it was something like a smirk. “Damn it” Sirius breathed out when he broke away with a slurp, rolling his eyes “Of all time you choose to be talkative now?”
The insistent blush in his cheeks said otherwise “For once you shut up”
Remus huffed, Sirius’ breath ghosting across his sensitive cockhead. He suppresses a whimper “I fucking love your voice”
“Shut up”
Nuzzling closer, Sirius stretched his mouth open, and Remus was not prepared for the sight or the feeling of his cock sinking into that hot, wet mouth of his. His eyes got a bit watery when the head bumped against the back of his throat, the soft palette fluttering wildly. Still, after pulling away for a moment, Sirius tried again, and he swallowed. Remus died a little inside, especially when those grey eyes met his stare once again, open and completely unashamed.
“Sirius” Remus whined.
Sirius repeated the motion several times, working in his cock deep until Remus’s thighs started shaking with the hot pull of his stomach. A string of spit connected Sirius’s swollen lips to the tip of his cock when he pulled away, eyes hazy, and Remus longed to wipe it away, but he restrained himself, content with watching Sirius suck around the head as his hands curled back around the shaft and pumped, hard and fast little jerks. Remus felt himself unwind like a snake “Fuck, Sirius. I'm gonna- you have to-”
Sirius moaned a little, sucking harder, and when Remus came, he drew back, stroking him through his orgasm with fluttering eyelashes and wide, grey eyes.
There was a peaceful silence in Sirius’ mind in the afterglow, one he would’ve chased for the rest of his days if it didn't have immediately turned sour the moment he had gotten his bearings back.
“Hey” Sirius murmured when he came up. There were few spurts of come on his face, most of it having landed on his neck and collarbone.
“Hi” Remus carefully lifted his hand to Sirius's face and asked “Can I?”
“Yeah. Okay”
Sirius's skin was hot against his fingers, Remus wiping it clean in gentle but efficient motions before bringing it up to his mouth. It was supposed to be sexy, and it was for a second as Sirius watched his tongue dance against his fingertips, but his face turned into a grimace as soon as the taste registered “Oh. I thought this would taste better”
“Oh my god” Sirius groaned, but he was laughing, and it was fine, it was good “I think that says a lot about your diet”
“Are you telling me I'm fat?”
“No, Moony. I'm telling you, you should eat healthier”
“Mh” Sirius grumbled “Not that I have much of a choice”
Sirius shut him up with a kiss, seeking permission to his mouth with his tongue before rubbing it against his, chasing whatever was left of it. When he pulled away, there was a thoughtful frown on his face “It's not that bad. You're just dramatic”
“That's because you didn't really taste it”
They argued back and forth, half-laughing, half-breathless because they kept exchanging kisses in the middle of it. Sirius didn't push, but he was thankful when Remus guided his hand into his pants, curling them around his cock. With his free hand, Sirius pushes the clothes that were in the way a bit down until he was half-kneeling, half-sitting on him, and Remus could stroke him as they traded lazy and sloppy kisses. The fire between them was softer, Remus's whimpers and gasps are quiet and breathy, but the look on his face, mouth open, and cheeks flushed as Sirius whispers how beautiful he looks into his ear when he came was perfection.
