So, he laid down

Regulus is a proud son of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, he will not bite his fingernails, never.

He was watching intently his fingertips while trying to water down his growing nerves.

The emptiness in the living room was playing with his nerves. Since the wedding everything have been running right in Black Manor.

Severus took a hold of the Household as his mother allowed him to start training.

Alas, Severus was delicate, and it seems that all the responsibilities that come with a big house like theirs were messing up with his health.

His father, mother and his dull brother were with Severus and the Healer that had come to check on him on their chambers.

He was quietly ushered outside by his mother as he was deemed unfit to be present in what could possibly be a meeting where his innocent ears shouldn’t be present.

Bah, he was only missing a year in Hogwarts and then he would be shipped off to be married.

My god, his marriage was unnerving to say the least.

He always pictured himself with a woman. Thankfully, the woman never had a specific face. He had never harbored any feelings for any woman, no weird love infatuation like that of the brute Potter for Evans.

He guessed that he had been rather preoccupied with being a good son, having nice grades, being a good friend to his friends and then being halfway through his preparation to be the Heir of the Family just to start his preparation to be a Bride for another family.

He needed a break really.

- Master Regulus – Kreacher popped out of nowhere startling him.

- Tell me, Kreacher – he said softly.

- Lady Walburga is requesting your presence at the Heir’s chambers – at his nod he disappeared.

He made his way to the room feeling apprehension, why would he be called there?

Maybe there was something really wrong with Sev and they had missed it with all the fanfare that was the wedding and then having him take up more responsibilities as the soon-to-be Consort Black.

When he arrived at the chamber’s entrance door, and he was given permission to enter he was met with a… curious sight.

The big beg was occupied by a sleeping Severus, and boy, that made Regulus squint his eyes. He would never sleep so peacefully around so many people.

The lord and the lady of the House were to one side of the bed, at the other side Sirius was standing with a content smile and the Healer was nowhere to be seen.

- Mother, what’s happening? – he said in a low voice to not awake Severus.

- Wonderful news, Reggie, Sev is carrying a little star in his womb for our Black Family.

Reg look at his parents’ faces then at Sirius’s face and then to Severus’s sleeping face and then… then he knew no more.

Walburga saw amused how her two sons were so alike.

She had expected Sirius to faint, but Reggie? That had been a surprise.

It was a relieve that she had casted cushioning charms on the floor before the Healer Visit to prevent Sirius from getting a concussion, and Regulus as well it seems.

The appointment was supposed to be a regular one. Obviously, she contacted their family healer in advance, Andrei Tarasov, and let him know her suspicious.

Severus was put in bedrest by her just that morning, at this point it was plausible, he would have to sleep it off if he “caught a cold” while doing his duties.

He was not happy with being under bed arrest by his mother-in-law. He was not so weak that just a few chores, that were mostly putting other people or elves to do what he wanted, would get him sick.

Although, he had to admit that he was indeed finding himself more and more tired and he wanted to sleep more but it was by no means something that warranted this torture.

When the healer arrived, he was scowling to Sirius for not demanding he be released from his sentence.

- Good morning, Lord, Lady, Heir Black – he approached the bed letting Severus appreciate his blond hair and icy blue eyes, he seemed Nordic.

- And this should be Heir Consort Black, happy to make your acquaintance – he said while putting his wand to work.

Soon a parchment with his whole medical history start producing himself, floating innocently by Healer Tarasov side.

- How have you been feeling, Severus? Is there a particular symptom that you would like to share with me? – He said fumbling with the parchment.

- Well, I’ve been feeling a little more tired than normal and I’m having a deeper sleep all the time – he started just to be interrupted.

- He has been nauseous too; I’ve seen how little he’s been getting in the mornings – his infuriating husband said just to be pierced by his burning gaze.

- Well, all that you have been noticing is to be expected at this stage of the pregnancy – the healer said matter-of-factly.

Sirius whipped his head as if he were electrized by something to stare wide-eyed to Healer Tarasov.

- Pre, Pre, Pregnancy? – he muttered after two seconds of short-circuit.

- Well, yes. I thought you were aware of it. Severus was born a carrier and its perfectly fertile. My scan showed that the date of conception was the 28th of June, correct? – he turned to see Sirius for confirmation.

Sirius was not having a coherent thought though. Severus was pregnant. Oh, Merlin. His husband was pregnant. Oh, Merlin. He impregnated Severus. Oh, Merlin. He was going to be a father. Oh, Merlin. He was not feeling good.

Sirius crumbled to the floor where he laid fainted out of surprise and excitement.

Severus looked unbelievably to him. How was it that he was the one that was fainting? He was the one pregnant!

Well, already laying in bed and fainting was not as theatrical he supposed.

It was a blessing truly. His mother-in-law haven’t mentioned children yet, but he was already looking into the potion. Now that he was so spoiled by the Black Family he was dreading having to go through the horrible transformation of his body during ten complete days.

He had always wanted to grow a family and now there was no one-child or two-child limit.
Walburga decided to leave Sirius to his devices on the floor for the moment and preferred to address Healer Tarasov.

- Andrei, I apologize, it seems I raised a dramatic child – she smiled sweetly in apologies to Severus as well that stayed dumbfounded at Sirius’ antics – I believe that June the 28th was the last day of your honeymoon in France, right Sev? – she addressed her distraught son-in-law that was growing red by the second.

- Yes, ma’am – he said playing with his thin blanket to avoid the knowing looks in the room.

- Then that’s wonderful, a honeymoon baby – the healer hummed – it seems it is due on late March or the beginnings of April, you seem to be missing some vitamins Severus so I will prescribe some potions to let you get them in record time as your baby needs them.

Healer Tarasov then proceeded to talk to both Lord and Lady Black about the dos and do nots of his pregnancy. He was not paying much attention either way because his eyes were drawn to his stomach.

He was mesmerized by the thought that inside him there had been a baby growing for a month and a half already. He was going to be the agh, in traditional families carriers were called mothers, well he was getting all the perks from being a part of the Black Family, being called mother wouldn’t hurt him. He was going to be a mother, Lady Magic blessed him to carry children naturally and he had the proper equipment already. Now, he will concentrate in nurturing his baby. His baby. His first baby. He wanted to jump and shout and tell the world he, Severus Black, was going to be a mother. A child growing already in his womb.

He was content to see Walburga pleased countenance, the proud look on Orion face, even Sirius’ happy expression while being sprawled on the floor after the shock.

He was loved and accepted and now he was going to help grow the family lineage as it was his duty. He was over the moon.

He was snapped out of his musing when the healer told him that he would need to get a potion to strengthen his immune system. They were going to spell him asleep first because if he got a sniff of that potion the most probable scenario as a pregnant man would be that he’d throw up. So, for saving everyone from the traumatic experience, they were going to spell the potion directly onto his stomach. He was reassured that they were going to rennervate Sirius as soon as the procedure was over. He felt pity for his husband but serves him right for fainting in such an important moment.

He let himself relax at the spell and closed his eyes.
