Chapter 1

Bill had been tricked. He had been tricked and now he was trapped in the mind of Stanley Pines, desperately trying to escape. He ignored the man looming behind him as he tried and failed to use his powers to leave. As the blue fire began spreading through the room, destroying everything it touched, Bill remembered something. A deal he had made long ago, and was about to act on.

"A-X-O-L-O-T-L, my time has come to burn, I invoke the ancient power, that I may return," he yelled the words backwards, his form glitching uncontrollably.

But the fire still came, and he was still trapped. He was about to die, and he was going to make sure he took Stan down with him.

"STANLEY," he yelled, lunging towards the man. Stanley didn't look particularly concerned to see an insane demon attacking him and just punched Bill in the eye.

He felt the fist hit him. He felt whatever form he had left shatter. He felt indescribable pain as his memories burned and his essence was ripped away. Then he felt cold. Colder than he had in . . . well he wasn't sure how long. He wasn't sure of a lot of things, like where he was, or even who he was.

He blinked his eye open and sat up to look at his surroundings. Nope, that didn't help, he was still lost. He was also very tired, despite the voice whispering in the back of his head that he really shouldn't need to sleep at all. He decided to ignore the voice for now, having heard somewhere that hearing voices was the first sign of madness. He didn't want to be crazy, at least not until he remembered who he was.

The place he woke up was on the outskirts of a small town, and the ground was covered in a thin layer of frost. He got up, walked over to one of the fences that surrounded the houses in the neighborhood and slid through a small gap between the wooden boards. Snow started falling as he made his way closer to the small, two-story house, slowly covering everything in a cold white blanket. The voice in his head was now very insistent that he shouldn't stay out in the cold any longer than necessary. He continued to ignore it and sat with his back against house's wall and drifted off to sleep.

Lisa Elsward was walking towards the front door of her house when she noticed something half buried in the snow. When she got closer, she could see that it was a small, pale grey triangle. It almost looked like it was made of stone, but when Lisa wiped some of the snow off its side to get a better look at it, it grumbled something and tried to wave her away with one its hands. Now Lisa had always liked animals, and would always help any stray cat or dog she found. She even had a flock of ravens who had learned she would give them seeds whenever they showed up. And this whatever-it-was that Lisa had just found in her yard looked like it was about frozen, so she did what she always did. She brought it inside, ignoring its rather annoyed sounding grumbles, and put it in a box wrapped up in a small blanket to try to get it warm.

Later that night, Lisa's husband Charles came home from a long day of work to find that his wife had found another animal in 'need of rescuing.' At least, he assumed it was an animal, all he could see from the kitchen was the box Lisa would keep her rescues in.

"What kind of animal is it this time?" he asked, gesturing to the box.

"I don't know," Lisa replied. "I thought it was a weird statue at first, but then it starting grumbling at me. It isn't anything I have ever encountered before."

"Really?" said Charles. Lisa knew more about animals than anyone else he knew, so her not knowing what the thing was surprised him a lot.

"It's in The Box if you want to look at it," said Lisa.

Charles was very curious and decided to go look in The Box. He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but it definitely was not a pale gray triangle wearing a bow tie and a top hat.

"What sort of demon-creature is this?!" he yelled.

"I already told you I don't know," Lisa replied calmly, going to stand next to Charles.

A few days later, Lisa was in the kitchen getting herself lunch when she heard an odd sound coming from The Box. She went over and looked in to see that the weird little creature was awake and apparently tangled in the blanket.

"Stop flailing so I can help you," she said, not really expecting a response. The creature froze when Lisa spoke and stared at her silently while she untangled it. Lisa noticed fairly quickly that it was now a pale yellow color instead of the grey it was earlier. It stood up slowly, still staring up at her with its one, big eye and did something Lisa was not at all expecting; it spoke.

"Where am I?" it said in a high-pitched nasally voice, but kept speaking before Lisa could answer. "Who are you? Who am I?" It looked down at itself and then back up at Lisa. "What are you?"

"My name is Lisa Elsward," she replied. "You're in my house. Do you not remember anything?"

The little triangle made a funny motion like he was trying to imitate someone shaking their head.
