Chapter 6
"reg please"
It's been almost 45 minutes. And Remus was still trying to convince Regulus to see his basketball game. not that Regulus didn't like watching Remus play, but he hated sitting in a stadium full of sweaty guys. And most of the guys were ugly, and sucked at the game. Regulus was pretty sure Remus was the only good looking one.
"no, i'm not going to your stupid basketball game"
"but-"
"no means no Lupin." Regulus scowled, "plus, I have to leave right now. so quit complaining"
"where are you going?"
"no where." Regulus grabbed his phone and ran right out the door, shutting it on Remus's face. he took out his phone and texted Pandora to tell her hes on his way. then he diled an uber to pick him up.
A dark SUV pulled up and the front window rolled down. Regulus thought he was hallucinating when he saw who picked him up. Regulus huffed a sigh and got in the car anyway.
"hey Reg, I didn't know I was giving you a drive"
"shut it crouch." Regulus spat, shoving his phone in his right pocket.
Barty would not shut up the whole drive, he just kept going on and on about Evan and soccer. Regulus felt like drowning himself in a lake.

he walked into the small store and found out it makes milkshakes. Only Pandora would take Regulus to a place that made milkshakes to catch up.
"Reg!" Pandora ran to Regulus and threw herself into his arms, he opened them to meet Pandora with a hug. it's not everyday you see Regulus hugging someone, he only has an exception for Pandora. another girl with flaming red hair and deep green eyes approached them and smiled. Regulus assumed it was Pandoras girlfriend. When they broke the hug, Pandora turned and looked over at the girl with red hair.
"Lily, this is Regulus. my best friend" Lily looked over at Regulus and gave a warm smile. "Regulus this is Lily, my girlfriend"
Regulus and Pandora talked non-stop the whole time, and Lily talked a lot too. they made a good trio.
Pandora was sweet and kind. but if you fucked with her she would rip you up into peices. her soft smile doesn't mean that shes very soft. Regulus learned this back in high school. it was year 9 and some bastard called her a queer bitch. Pandora ignored them but then they had to spit out saying that Evan and Barty fags. that, that is when she lost it. Pandora ended up with a bloody nose and she got suspended. the boys on the other hand, well they were in the infirmary with their parents crying. so yes, Pandora was more than her smile for sure.
Lily was also weirdly kind, Regulus expected Lily to be more shy. but oh, she was not shy at all. Lily was like a wrecking ball, she was definitely an extrovert and she knew how to throw a punch for sure. Lily had this stare that told you not to pick a fight with her. She was also funny, she was very mean and sarcastic when it came to certain things. Regulus liked that about her. so Regulus decided that he liked Lily.
Suddenly he felt a buzz in his pocket. he took out his phone to see that James had texted him.

hello?
can you send me your skating competition thing
you can show up to the hogwarts rink around 7:00 this Saturday.
cool, r u busy?
Regulus looked away from his phone because his heart was racing very fast. why on earth was James asking him if he was busy?
James
hello?
regulus?
r u alive?
regulusssss
i'm with an old friend rn. i'll text you later.

what.
7 in the morning or night?
night. goodbye James.
God. what was he doing.
After the shakes he ordered another uber to take him back to campus, thankfully it wasn't Barty. He turned his key in the door to his dorm and swung open the heavy door to find Remus talking. was there someone in the dorm? Whoever it was, he was laughing. probably at something Remus had said. Regulus took off his coat and walked into the room with Remus and his stranger. "Remus you can't just invite people over whenever you want" as soon as he looked at who was there, he was met with a scared expression.
"Reg?" the man said with a furrowed eyebrow.
"Sirius." Regulus said flatly. he knew this day would come. he knew that at least one time he would be met with his brother. but this was the least expected time and place to face each other. He saw Sirius's eyes fill with water fast as he shook his head slowly. he heard his brother's breath hitch, Regulus just stared blankly back at him. A part of Regulus wanted to scream at Sirius for leaving him alone at that house, the other part of him wanted to let the tears fall and run to his brother and cry and cry and cry. Remus was just standing there looking confused as ever. Regulus noticed remus was shirtless and there was a blooming hickey on Sirius's neck. god Remus what have you done. Tears were falling out of Sirius's eyes now, pouring down his cheeks. Regulus felt his lip start to tremble.
"What's going on?" Remus asked giving Regulus a stare of confusion but also anger.
"Remus. your boyfriend here, is my brother dearest." Regulus clenched his jaw hoping it would stop the urge to cry. it didn't. Regulus could feel the tears start to form in his grey eyes because he hadn't said the word brother in such a long time.
"what?" Remus's expression was different now, it looked like he didn't know how to feel. Regulus was assuming that Rmus would take his side, you know because there are practically best friends. Instead Remus kept looking back at Regulus and Sirius.
a beat of silence pasted.
"you heard me right, my brother." Regulus almost colapsed at saying the word brother again. Merlin what was wrong with him.
"Reggie, I-"
"don't call me that."
sirius swallowed, "Regulus, did you get out?" God. Regulus couldn't beleive him. After all these years, Sirius's first question is 'did you get out?' of course. only Sirius would do that.
"yes. as a matter of fact I did. now can you please get out of my dorm." Regulus spat. Something had passed over Sirius's face. at first he looked releived that Regulus finally got out of there fucking household. then another face was made. a face that looked hurt. good Regulus thought, he sould be fucking hurt after he just left him there.
when Sirius turned 18 he packed up all of his things and left their house. Sirius told Regulus to go with him, but since Sirius was a fucking idiot. he forgot that Regulus was still a minor and couldn't leave without his mother sending the police after him. so sirius just left him there. Sirius had told Regulus that he would come back for him, but he never did. That's when Regulus learned not to trust anybody, he couldn't even trust his own brother. Regulus left when he was 21. he left then because his mother had died, and Regulus felt free after the funeral. no matter how bad of a parent his mother was, it still hurt when she died. Regulus felt horabile for it. He knew Sirius would have brushed it off super easily just like he always did. Regulus still blames Sirius for leaving.
"reggi- Regulus, please-"
"no. Sirius, get out." a singular tear dropped from his eyes. but thankfully Sirius grabbed his leather jacket from the hanger and opened the door. he turned back for the slightest second to look into Regulus's eyes. Sirius tilted his head a bit then sniffled as he walked out and closed the door back over.
"care to explain?" right. he forgot about Remus.
"do you care to explain? Why were you sleeping with my brother?" the tears were pouring now.
"I'm not sleeping with him! God, It was one time!"
"That doesn't explain the fucking hickey on his neck you idiot" the idiot part made his voice crack. Regulus backed up and fell to the floor, he really didn't want to fight right now. he could barely hear himself think.
Remus walked over and sat down next to Regulus "It was one time I promise, but can we not talk about this right now?"
Regulus nodded and Remus wrapped his arm around Regulus and let him cry. Remus had comforted Regulus when Sirius could not anymore.

Sirius couldn't see through his tears, he was afraid he was going to crash his motorcycle. Sirius practically ran into his and James's dorm, James was on the phone with Effie so Sirius tried to be quiet going to his room. which did not work, James caught Sirius with a face full of tears. and now Sirius's head was in James's lap explaining everything. He rambled about how it was going super good then Remus's dorm mate came back, and how the dorm mate was infact his brother. and how his brother had told him he finally got out of their house, but then he forced Sirius to get out.
"Sirius, calm down mate"
"no! He forced me out! I didn't get a chance to explain! he just kicked me out!" Sirius was waving his hands back and forth, but he couldn't bear to say his name. It just felt wrong.
"pads, I know I'm an only child, and I don't get this stuff. but I think you just need to give him some time" James was now getting Sirius a glass of water so he can calm down. Sirius decided that he didn't want to give Regulus some time. even though Regulus hates Sirius, Sirius wants to fight for them. And for Remus and him.
Sirius wishes that Regulus would let him explain why he left. if he could just talk to Regulus everything would be fine. but no, Regulus decides that he's going to back out and kick Sirius out of his dorm. he started crying again, the wet droplets moved down his face slowly. James came back with a cup of water and some biscuits.
James and him spend the rest of the night watching Sirius's favorite movie and crying some more. then finally sleeping.
Sirius woke to the sound of birds chirping through the black glass window, he sat up to wake James. but James wasn't across the room. Regulus was. he was back at home. back in that house, back in that room. Sirius walked over to his little brother who looked no more than 14 years old.

"Reggie" sirius mermured, shaking Regulus's sholder slightly.
the small dark haired boy lifted his head and sat up. "Sirius, it's 5:00 in the morning" Regulus said rubbing his eyes.
"Reggie, mother is going to wake us up soon anyway. better to get up now" he walked down to the door and pulled it open.
suddenly Sirius was put into that room. Regulus was there too. no. Sirius had to make sure he wasn't hurt. the older boy grabbed the younger one, pushing him into the other room across the hallway. Regulus now looked young, 8 years old at the most. Sirius shoved Regulus into the room, then giving him a silent look of 'it s going to be okay' Regulus looked back eyebrows furrowed, you could see the tears pricking at his soft grey eyes. Sirius quickly grabbed the dark wooden chair and closed the door. Sirius stuck the back of the chair against the doornob.
"Sirius no!" Regulus cried out trying to open the door. "Sirius please!" Regulus started banging on the door, trying to get out and help his older brother.
Sirius put his hand up against the door "it will be ok Reggie. Stay quiet."
he could hear his baby brother trying to be quieter, but you could hear his broken sobs coming from the other side of the door. Then he saw his mother. she walked into the room looking down at Sirius. she had that look in her eye a belt in hand. his heart picked up. he knew that he had done something bad when you saw her with that glint in her eyes. how could she enjoy doing this to her own children?
"maman..." Sirius looked back up at her with sorry eyes.
"tu mérites ça Sirius." his mother raised her hand with the belt. Sirius closed his eyes tightly perparing for the pain he was about to go through once more.
"sirius!" his little brother screamed banging on the hard door once again.
"Sirus!"
"Sirius!" James yelled, and all of a sudden he was back in his dorm. he woke up in a sweat, hair a mess, he could feel the wet tears sitting on his cheeks. he started crying more. "Sirius it's ok. you're not there. You're here ok" James shushed hugging sirius with his gentle hands. James held him, and when he calmed down he felt the urge to cry more.
"do you want to talk about it?"
"not really" he shakes his head. all he wanted was to talk to Regulus and become his brother again. he wanted Remus to kiss him again, he hoped that it wasn't a one time thing. he liked Remus a lot, from the moment he saw those honey colored eyes he knew. He wanted Remus to hold him in his big arms and tell Sirius it's ok. He wanted Remus to talk about David Bowie and make jokes about how Sirius was the most dramatic git, then he wanted Remus to kiss him. and kiss him, and kiss him. but he couldn't do that.
