James potter is often described as the sun, his dark skin almost seemed to glow with how bright he was shining.
When he first arrived at hogwarts he immediately fell in love with the red headed beauty that was getting onto the train. In awe he watched her. When they arrived at hogwarts, he was overjoyed to be in the same house as her. For a whole year he was proclaiming his love for her in various ways. By 5th year he’d finally got a date to hogsmeade with the beautiful girl. However, 3 months into dating a black head of curls started catching his attention and apparently that of his girlfriends. Sitting together, they discussed how to woo the cold hearted man. 3 months of trying and they both had a date with him.
Now a year later, James is cuddling with his partners after an amazing evening of love making as he liked to call it. However when he rolled over he noticed Lily had her back to him and had regulus wrapped in her arms. Frowning, James shifted closer to spoon his girlfriend when she pushed away from him and pulled their boyfriend closer james felt a sharp pain in his chest. Brushing it off he curled up by himself and tried to think nothing more of it.
It was finally hosgmeade weekend and james was almost buzzing with excitement about the thought of taking his partners on a date just the three of them. Go to madam puddifoots and have a cringy romantic dinner together. Checking himself in the mirror and straightening his glasses he flew out the door and down the stairs almost running into Lily. She looked stunning, wearing a tight fitting top and loose skirt that complimented her eyes perfectly and she’d done her makeup which was rare, only for special occasions. “Love! You’re ready! Shall we go get reg?” Grinning he reached out for her but frowned when she didn’t look at him. “Love?” He questioned. “James. Regulus and I have already got a date planned for this weekend sorry” shell shocked James stood there as she kissed his cheek and walked out the portrait hole. James felt his stomach hit the floor. Running up the stairs he grabbed his invisibility cloak and slipped it on quickly following his girlfriend. When he caught up with them they were laughing and holding hands. James lost them as he entered hogsmeade and found them sat in madam puddifoots. Sneaking closer he began to listen it “I know sweetheart” Lily was saying. “He’s so annoying we need to get rid of him. It was difficult to get away from him today but we managed” regulus laughed “I can imagine it was with how needy he is” James took that is his que to leave. Stepping out he walked towards hogwarts again and straight up to the astronomy tower. Sitting on the ledge he removed the cloak. Only then did he allow the tears to fall.
His partners found him annoying? After all they’re convincing him he wasn’t actually annoying and that they didn’t mind, they were all lies? James felt his world crumbling around him as he sobbed alone in the tower. He didn’t realise how late it was until he heard footsteps on the stairs. James tried to find his cloak, but just before he managed the door opened and he looked up.
There stood both his partners with a frown on their faces. James swallowed and forced a grin on his face. “Hey! Sorry, let me head out then you can have it to yourselves to finish off your date” he began to gather his things and stood up walking toward the door, however regulus and Lily had a different idea, instead they grabbed him and they sat on the floor together. Regulus was the first to speak. “Darling, what’s got you so upset?” James stayed silent looking at the floor. Lily tried next. “Honey, can you tell us what’s happened we’re worried” James felt tears streaming down his cheeks. “Don’t worry I know it can be annoying to be around me so I can head down, leave you two in peace” Lily frowned and looked at regulus confused. A look of realisation came across regulus’ face. “Darling how much did you hear of our chat at madam pudifoots?” James looked at the ground and fiddled with his fingers. “That you think I’m annoying and you’re glad to be rid of me, I mean congratulations for you two, I’m truly happy you found each other” just as he was getting up regulus put a hand on his cheek. “Sweetie we were talking about Sirius, he interrupted us asking where you were” Lily looked at him. “We were planning a birthday party for you as a surprise and so we had to try to find time away from you to plan darling” James thought back to the evening where they didn’t cuddle him. “Why didn’t you cuddle me? After sex or in the evening?” Lily sighed “Jamie baby, you never seemed interested. You normally spoon one of us after clean up. How about you be the middle of the sandwich tonight?” James nodded slowly. “ are you sure you want me? I won’t be offended” both regulus and Lily shook their heads. “We want you” “we always will baby”
That night they spent it cuddling together with James in the middle and the promise to communicate better in the future. The bed was filled with love and safety and trust. James party that year turned out to be the best yet and James ended the evening kissing both his partners as they all danced together filled with joy and comfort.
