Friends and Foes
"My name is Professor Snape, and this is first firstslightlypotions, I can teach you any cure for any curse, and save someone on the brink of death.", He noted this in case he ever needed it.
"Who can tell me what would happen if I put the powered root of Aphsodel to an infusion of wormwood ?" He asked looking across the room.
Hermione's hand shot up like a bullet, as the other students(including Harry) tried not to be picked on.
As Harry looked down at his desk he felt Professor Snape's gaze on him," Mr. Potter sorry for not introducing myself to you would you like to answer?" Harry looked to Hermione for help but she shrugged and started writing, "Well Mr. Potter I'm waiting." Professor Snape said with a hint of impatientness.
He shook my head slightly, his face becoming slightly pink.
"Hm. Can you tell me where to find Bezoar?" He asks again.
Harry glanced at Hermione for help,"Not a word Mrs. Granger." Professor Snape warned.
"What's the difference between Monkshood and Wolfsbane?" He asks again, he sits up straight and answers, "They're the same plant but different, also known as aconite." "Hm. Good talk to me after class." Professor Snape says with a hint of a smile before turning back to the board, Harry sighs and silently thanks Hermione and his mom's old Potions book.
As everyone leaves the classroom he stays behind, "Well Mr.Potter I had hopes for you." He admits.
Everyone always did.
"Did I let you down?" He asks quietly, "No," Harry sighs. "Not yet, but knowing your father and your likeness try not to get into to much trouble. " Professor Snape smile softly. Harry smiles softly before catching up with Hermione, "So what did he do, I would have tried to save you but I got caught." She explains rolling her eyes.
"Oh it's Fine Mione, he said, knowing my father's history of getting into "mishaps", try not to get into trouble." He explained.
Lunch is boring.
Since Hermione is in Ravenclaw he's alone with no friends,until Daphne picks up her plate and goes to sit with him.
"Hey, Harry!" Daphne says her twin braids flinging up and then finally settling down.
"Um hi?" Harry greets nervously, "How's your day going so far, mines going well but I'm Starving." As Daphne rambles, Harry listens as he really doesn't have a choice. "So made any friends yet?" Daphne asks drinking a soda from her golden goblet, "No not really." He admits. "Well then I could be your friend!" Daphne says excitedly.
"Are you sure cause your friend with the black short hair is giving me the evil eye-". "Well Pansy's always like that-" Daphne explains waving off the warning looks her friend is giving her.
"Besides what's she's gonna gonna do to you, You're the Harry Potter!".
"Thanks Daphne." He says smiling softly, "Please call me Daph." As they talk and laugh Daphne's group looks at her trying to get her attention, as they started to leave Harry turned towards Daphne and said "Thank you for being my friend." He says shyly, "No bother everyone needs friends." She exclaims, hugging him before they go off to their separate groups.
"What the hell was that?!" Pansy angrily asks Daphne, "Me making a friend?" Daphne asks sighing, rolling her eyes. "Don't roll your eyes at me and you know exactly what I mean!" Pansy says rambling. "Y'know Ansy youre being a prude! He doesn't have any friends and for the rumors he's really nice!" She explains smiling; "Right Blaise?" She asks turning to him.
He stays quiet not meeting her eyes.
I mean he doesn't seem that bad, I mean he gave me a quill when mine broke." Theo suggested shrugging his shoulders.
Pansy turned to look at him then at me, "Okay it's either him or us!" Me, Theo and Blaise looked at each other shocked.
"Hey maybe that's a little to far-" Blaise tried to say something but Pansy cut him off.
"No you want to go with her be my guest." She explains glaring at all three of us angrily. "Draco?" I ask turning to look at him. "I agree with Pansy, we have reputations to uphold. " He explains turning to Pansy, who has a satisfyied grin on her face. "So?" She asks turning to me expecting an answer, "Fine. Y'know for the few days I've known him he's been a better friend to me than you." I say. "Theo you coming?" I ask turning to him. He shrugs and follows me, I try not to cry but it doesn't work anyway. "Hey Daphne we can always find new friends, I mean Potter and his other friend seem pretty cool." He suggests placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Well well well if it isn't one of the Weasleys." A voice says, as Harry turns to a corner on his way to class he sees two Ravenclaws bullying a ginger Hufflepuff. "Don't you guys have anything better to do?" I ask before I can stop myself, "What the fuck do you want?" One of the boys ask turning to look at me.
"I never really do this so it might work" Harry thinks to himself raising his hair to show his lightning scar that seems to crawl down his face half blinding him.
"Shit!" Says one of the boys before they both take of running scared, I turn to the ginger Hufflepuff but he runs away too before Harry could say something
"Well so much for keeping a low profile." Harry thinks to himself
"Harry!" A voice exclaims behind him, when he turns he sees Daphne and Theo running towards him, as they get closer together he could see her puffy eyes from crying. "What happened?" Harry asks softly, " I don't wanna talk about it let's just go." Daphne says quietly pulling his and Threos's hand towards they're next class.
