Sirius Black
Sirius sped towards his place as he got there he saw James and Peter talking low to each other. Sirius gave a wave but was more concerned with Remus. He was itching to go see him but hearing Lily’s voice forced him to pause.
He wanted to see him. He needed to see him but since no one said anything he supposed that everything was fine. Or as fine as it was going to be. “Pl…Please tell me you found him.”
He turned, fearing the response. Looking at both of them as they shook their heads. This isn’t good! They are running out of time, for crying out loud! Sirius could feel his eyes tear up. He cannot lose him. It was impossible to think of a life without him.
“Sirius, sit down please.” James spoke as if talking to a child. How can he be so calm? Remus is going to die!
Sirius was lucky he listened and sat down because that one thought would have sent him to the ground had he been standing.
“Sirius, listen to me.” Sirius looked up to find James trying to get his attention waving a hand in front of him. Oh, looks like Sirius spaced out. As he finally started paying attention James started pulling his hair back. He was nervous except Sirius didn’t know why? Did something happen?
Sirius tried to wait for James to start talking but as the seconds went by he couldn’t help but get more nervous. “What? What happened? Tell me.” Sirius said all this while staring back and forth from James to Peter.
James sighed, “Sirius, mate, I have one more name.”
Sirius was horrified. Who is it? Why aren’t they hunting this person down and dragging him back here?
“Who? Come on, let's go.”
“He is already here.” Sirius started looking around frantically but it was just them. “Come on mate. It’s you!”
Sirius turned hoping James was pulling a prank but as he looked at him he saw no mischief whatsoever. James thought it was him. But no! No! He would never do this to Remus.
“I would never James!” Sirius felt like he got hit in the gut.
Peter, seeing Sirius face with wide eyes and drained of color, spoke up, “Sirius you heard Lily it can take only a strong row. You two have argued before so it could have happened.”
Sirius shook his head desperately, “I would know.”
James still spoke softly like talking to a child, “Not if the bond hadn’t formed yet. It was back in fifth year so it could’ve happened. He felt it because he was the one rejected.”
Sirius didn’t stop shaking his head. No, not possible. Looking at James straight in the eyes he whispered, “You know I wouldn’t. I couldn’t. You know how I feel.” He let out a whimper.
James looked at him with sympathy. “I know, Sirius I know. This could have been an accident. We all know what happened that year between you two.”
Sirius thought back. That year he had run away from his family. He had tried speaking with Reggie only to be shut down and it hurt. Not long after Snape came to tease him. He had been so mad so he hinted for him to find Remus that night. Night of the full moon.
He wanted to scare Snape, honest. However guilt overtook him and told James of what he did. James of course ran to save his life. Once Remus found out what he did he avoided Sirius for months on end.
Sirius followed him around waiting and hoping for one single word from Remus. Finally one day Remus got irritated and started yelling at him. Sirius yelled back. Took awhile longer but they eventually went back to normal.
Could it have been the betrayal or arguing? Did he really do this? Sirius hadn’t noticed he was crying until the memory vanished and he felt something wet on his cheeks.
James had placed a hand on his shoulder, “Sirius, Remus needs help. You don’t want him to die, none of us do. Go, talk to him. We’ll come back until tomorrow night. Fix this, mend the bond. If it happens not to be you then we will find away to hunt down the soulmate.”
Lily had come out whispered two weeks max and then silently all three left without another word. Sirius felt how he was shaking but forced himself towards the room. He didn’t know what to say or how to act.
As he stepped inside the room, there was Remus, way too pale looking exhausted but still had some beauty to him. As Sirius watched him fresh tears dropped. He stood there crying.
“What’s wrong?” Remus asked with a voice that sounded tired.
Sirius moved slowly towards the bed, still crying. “Is it me? Remus, please tell me the truth, did I do this?”
Remus just looked at him then sighed, “Sirius, don’t cry. You're too pretty to cry.”
Normally a compliment like that from Remus would produce butterflies but right now as he sits near him covered in tears Sirius couldn’t produce a flutter. “You didn’t answer.”
Remus opened his mouth then closed it. Finally he replied, “Why are you crying?”
Why? Did he just ask why? “Remus you, because you are dying, that’s why!”
“Sirius, save your tears. It’s okay, it is my time. Oh, stop crying.”
That made Sirius snap, “Stop crying! No, I’ll stop crying when you stop dying! It is not your time! You are making it your time! None of this is okay Remus! Am I your soulmate!”
Remus then started crying, “I’m sorry but…”
Sirius started getting desperate, he needed an answer. “Remus, please I have been crying for you for a long time. Buckets and buckets of tears, ask James. Please just tell me.” He whined the last part.
Remus took a deep breath, “I didn’t want you to know. Yes, Sirius it is you.”
Sirius’ tears turned to painful sobs. Remus petted his hair as he tried to control his sobbing. Finally Sirius looked at Remus, “Why didn’t you tell me.”
“Sirius, I wanted a soulmate who loved me.”
“I love you Remus!”
“Romantically.”
“I do, Remus. I have loved you romantically for a while now.” Remus stared at him with disbelief. “Ask James if you don’t believe me! In fact I’ll get him over her right now!”
Sirius was about to pull out his wand and cast a patronus when Remus placed a hand over his. Sirius looked at him and he stared back. They had a wordless conversation where Remus looked for truth and Sirius poured his heart out.
Finally Sirius saw some glee in Remus. Just in case he still doubted Sirius crashed his lips on top of Remus’.
Oh gods above! Sirius felt an electricity wave throughout his body and responded wanting to taste everything. He moaned when Remus bit his bottom lip and then he soothed it with his tongue. Where did he learn that! Remus can kiss!
Suddenly a strong warth hit his chest like a zap. They pulled away and Remus also gasped.
Remus looked at Sirius, “The…the bond.”
Sirius couldn’t help but smile widely. “You’re going to be good again.”
“Well we have to see what Lily says first.”
Sirius shook his head, he knew it. “I know you will be. Remus John Lupin, you and I will be happy together.”
He sealed that declaration with a kiss. Honestly he could spend an entire day glued to this man’s lips and be happy.
“Except Remus first you will have to make it up to me for letting yourself almost DIE.”
Remus gave a chuckle. “I am sure you guys would have survived without me.”
Sirius could not believe what he was hearing. “That is blasphemy! We would have been sad and miserable without you. There is no us without you. We need to work on your self confidence.”
Remus gave him a half smile. “Shut up.” Then pulled Sirius by the shirt pulling him on top of him until Sirius was fully covering him. Sirius went willingly and kind of liked being pulled by Remus. Finally their lips meet again and stayed for awhile.
Next evening Lily was checking on Remus when the other three men came rushing in as they heard her hysterically crying.
She turned and announced that it might take a bit longer but Remus was healing! Sirius felt excited and happy and love. Guess they’ll have to keep kissing. Solely to heal Remus. Sirius will do anything for Remus, whatever he wants. Sirius loved him and he loves Sirius!
