Princes of Slytherin and their Sunshine

The halls were deadly silent, almost suspiciously quiet as James walked down the corridors of Hogwarts heading down to the dungeons and towards the Slytherin common room. However, he knew the moment he entered the common room that silence wouldn't be a problem. He reached the Slytherin common room fairly quickly and whispered the password that he'd been given and watched as the door slid open. He walked in slowly as he adjusted his red crop top, having noticed it was riding up just a bit. He smiled to himself as he looked down at his outfit, still showing his house pride as he walked into the den of snakes, he moved his silver sun necklace to the small dip just below his collarbone before looking up finally as he realized he could hear music when a moment ago he hadn't. These Slytherins sure were cunning, and it just made him smile as he looked around the crowd full of his fellow classmates. He ran his hands through his dark brown hair, accidentally messing his curls up a bit as he made eye contact across the room with none other than the so-called "Princes of Slytherin."

James can't help but be slightly excited as he notices Barty Crouch Jr sporting the most mischievous smirk he's ever seen and that's a hard feat to do seeing as James' best friend is literally Sirius Black. His eyes move to the left of Barty where he sees Evan Rosier whose eyes are blown wide as a small smile grows on his face. And last but definitely not least his eyes slide over to Regulus Black whose cheeks seem to heat up a gorgeous pink as James' eyes meet his. James' eyes raked over each of them on turn taking in their facial features and outfits, he can't help but smile as he looks at each of them, the way that Barty's black button-down shirt hugs his waist in the perfect way or the way that Evan's blonde hair looked divine even in the harsh lights that surround them; or the way that Regulus' hands look covered in his multitude of rings. James slowly walks across the room towards them, never taking his eyes off of them, simply letting his eyes flutter between the three of them as he walks closer.

His excitement reached an all-time high as he reached them, his hands itching to touch one of them. Actually, he'd prefer to be able to reach out and drag them all closer but sadly he was just one man, however it seemed as if they had read his mind as each of them stalked forward as if he was their pray. Evan slowly dragged his hand up James' arm while Barty wrapped his arm around his waist, his signature smirk still held rightfully in place.

As Regulus reached up and whispered into his ear "A lone lion, in the snake's den? Death wish Potter?" This caused a chuckle to ripple through the other two as he had spoken loud enough for them both to hear, yet quiet enough that prying ears would have to strain to hear. They all knew no one would dare, not with the three Slytherins reputations which just made this all that more exciting for James. Especially seeing as Evan had invited him, whether it had been a joke or genuine James was unsure, but he didn't care to even worry about that. The thought of being near the three of them in a space that no one would dare interrupt to try and make James leave had been all that more inviting to him. It all felt secretive enough that it was almost dangerous, yet James felt comfortable and safe regardless if he knew their intentions or not.

Regardless of the fact his mind was racing in pure excitement at being this close to the three of them, James responds "Death wish? No, the inability to resist pretty boys? Definitely." He smiles down at Regulus as he speaks and loves the fact that his words cause a small blush to race across the younger boy's cheeks and over his nose.

This comment doesn't exactly seem to catch the three boys off guard rather it seems to egg them on as Evan says "Pretty boys? Why James we had no clue you might be interested in us." Barty smirk seems to grow wider as Evan speaks whereas Regulus rolls his eyes playfully, every one of them knew James was interested or else he wouldn't have shown up, but they loved the bickering, the playfulness that rolled off of each of them in waves that could drown them if they let it.

James smiled his golden smile that always seemed to come out when close to these three as he softly says "No clue huh? Is that why you invited me, to see if I'd show up. I would show up anywhere you invite me Evan. Actually, anywhere any of you invite me but that's beside the point." His words were soft and smooth as he spoke, each word seemingly perfect and well thought out yet knowing James he'd just spoken how he was truly feeling.

This type of thing should have thrown them off but when it's James, it's kind of expected seeing as he's the sunshine boy. The one who draws them in as if he's magnetic, and maybe he is or maybe they just can't help but be caught up in his light, drawn to his flames as if their small helpless moths just craving the light. Barty looks over at Regulus before turning to Evan, each making eye contact and seemingly having a silent conversation. If it had been anyone else in front of them, they wouldn't have noticed the moment the three of them came to a silent agreement, but this was James, the one who watched them anytime they were in the same room as if he was unable to help it. The one who studied them as if each of them was a different art piece on display in a museum, as if each of them was something so beautiful that you fear you'd lose sight of them if you so much as blinked. So instead of interrupting, commenting or speaking a single word he just waits. After maybe thirty seconds he's rewarded when all three pairs of eyes turn to him, and it's as if the world has stopped moving, as if time has stopped all together as he looks into each of their eyes. Seemingly mesmerized as Barty's brown eyes seem to sparkle with mischief and desire, maybe a hit on affection as well. Whereas Regulus' grey eyes that usually hold a beautiful storm seem to have melted into swirling silver filled with pure need and affection, and Evan, Evan's green eyes shine with a deep attraction mixed with a softness that nobody else other than James would have noticed.

It takes a moment for any of them to speak, all seeming to wait for the other to speak, none of them wanting to interrupt the other before Barty in pure Barty style leans closer to James, his smirk prominent on his gorgeous face as he purrs "Perfect, because we are. How about you join us? Whether you want just for the night or forever doesn't matter, all I know is we want you. So Mr. Gryffindor are you brave enough to venture further into the snakes' den with three what was it? Pretty boys."

There was no need for second thoughts, for a moment to think as James nods instantly, his face breaking into a wide grin as he says, "Lean the way."

With that the four of them disappear from the common room without so much as a moment's notice, everyone around them notices but not a single person says anything. It takes almost six months before anyone at Hogwarts gets the courage to ask about the four of them. Even if everyone had been curious, no one wanted to be the one risking a hex if they asked about the Princes of Slytherin and their Sunshine. Precisely six months later they all find out that they are in fact dating and only because one furious and deeply oblivious Sirius Black finally figured it out.
