Chapter 3
James hadn't MEANT to walk into the regulus black falling asleep on the astronomy tower, but that didn't exactly mean he was upset about it.
The day had started quite unspectacular. James had woken up Remus, Sirius, and Peter, which in return he got splashed with an aguimenti. Then they went to breakfast, which the whole time Sirius was going on about how stupid his little brother was, just because they made eye contact in the corridor.
Next, they went to class, hexing some slytherins that were teasing a hufflepuff on the way, which earned then a detention. They all had transfiguration with the ravenclaws first, Sirius and James were obviously best in that class, tranfiguring a duck into a dollhouse on the second, almost first, try.
The rest of the day was boring, and they spent a lot of time indoors as it had started snowing and being cold. Then they each went to their detentions.
While in detention, polishing the trophies in the cases, James felt as though his detention was going on much longer then normal. This was proven when he finished and cast a charm to tell the time, and it read 2:13am. Apparenty filch forgot about him and let him go on till way past curfew.
The plan was for James to go back to the dorm and try his best not to wake up anyone, especially moony, as the full moon was the next night. But James decided to take a detour and get a snack from the kitchens. However, the corridor was dark, and even though he'd been through the halls many times, he got lost.
This led to him reaching the bottom of the astronomy tower stairs, and though he now knew where he was, he decided to get some fresh air from outside.
That was when he walked up the stairs only to find a boy half asleep just laying on the tower. James felt something calming from this boy. It seemed as though the world had stopped.
Only after they talked a small bit did James walk around and see that the boy was none other than Regulus Black. Surprisingly, this didn't bother him too much.
He'd heard how awful regulus was on multiple occasions from Sirius, but now, in the moment, James didn't feel as though he was an awful person. He felt good around him.
When Regulus got up to leave, James felt a rush of... something. And asked him to stay. He didn't even know why he would've ever asked that, but he did, and he didn't regret it one bit once he saw the boy blush violently and try to turn away.
