the air was cold and crisp, and the sun was just setting beyond the horizon, casting godrics hollow with shadows. remus was headed towards the potters home. he could've very well just apparated, but the walk was a well needed rest from using magic constantly.
he hadn't visited james, lily, and regulus in a while, as they had been busy with a child running- well crawling, around. sirius was supposed to arrive to the house a little bit later, as he had a few more things to attend to at st. mungos.
as remus walked to the front porch of the house, he could hear faint laughing and a bit of hollering from james.
regulus had told everyone that his young niece, luna, would be spending the day with them all. pandora had things to do, and had needed regulus to watch over luna while she was away. it was really no problem though
remus rung the door bell and took a small subconscious step back from the door. it was something he picked up after living with the marauders for all those years. mostly james though, as he was sometimes (almost always) over eager when opening any doors.
the door was opened quickly, and he was dragged into a hug by lily. when she released him, they walked into the living room together.
"moony! hi, your a bit early aren't you?" james was ecstatic, even though he knew exactly what the plan was for today.
"not really, maybe by a few minutes. hello to you too though prongs," remus sat down on the floor with harry and luna.
the potter's house had always been a peaceful place. not just the potter's house for that matter. when they were all on summer break, they'd go on all sorts of trips with james parents. all of the potter's remus had met were the same, yet so very different. they all had that deeply rooted love and care that they would give to anyone.
the group of people hung out in the living room for another 30 minutes or so, before theres was another knock on the door. "I'll go get it, its probably sirius" he went to the front door and opened it. there stood sirius. he was dressed in a vampire costume
sirius and remus walked back into the living room having a random conversation about who knows what. hello's and welcome's were thrown around the room before everyone calmed down a bit. harry had waddled over to where luna and regulus were sat on the floor, and flopped down beside them.
the group stayed in the living room watching halloween movies as the kids watched the movies and colored in their halloween themed coloring books. lily, remus, and regulus eventually ventured to the kitchen to go grab the snack platters and drinks.
the evening seemed to calm down after harry and luna were put to sleep. a random movie was playing in the background of the living room, as the group of friends were in a deep conversation. james and sirius were busy wrestling somewhat quietly in the middle of the living room, while the other three were sat on the couch. well, lily and regulus were on the couch while remus was sitting in the arm chair.
another 10 or so minutes passed before sirius and james were done their wrestling match. sirius stood up and plopped down on remus's lap. "how are you, my moon beam?" he threw his head back onto remus's shoulder, kissing his cheek playfully.
