what happened yesterday.
Chapter 5
Percy hadn’t really known what to do when he awoke next to Marcus Flint, it only took him a few seconds to remember everything thing that had transpired the night before, processing any of these memories had been a completely an of worms.
Finding his wand, that had been lost somewhere between the sheets had been a hard enouth task already but trying not to wake the burlie man still lying beside him had proven annoyingly difficult, the other had shifted unconsciously every tine Percy moved.
Percy should not be so worried about the other waking up, at least he’d have someone to show him how to get out of the snake nest
but what he remembered fom yesterday made him reluctant to confront the other man, it had all been to much, there had been to much chemistry.
Marcus, maybe he should start calling him Flint again? Marcus had been too sweet almost too soft. Guys weren’t like that from Percy’s usual, if limited experience.
He felt the body next to him shift again, he had also avoided, and he would continuously avoid putting those experiences into any kind of perspective.
He slipped of the side of the bed; the room was still relatively dark, but he was able to make out the door on the other side of the room, now in the early morning he could see the whole room a lot better than yesterday, this morning? At night.
The room as a whole must have housed no more than three boys, other than in grifindoor, Slitherin seamed to think that six beds in one room was just too much, Percy would agree with that.
He let his eyes roam over the room for a moment.
Like he had suspected, it was suprisingly clean for a room housing three teenage boys, percy could aprichiate this cleanliness and he wished some of his roommates shared that quality.
His eyes flickered over a wall that had flags and posters of what were most likely the rooms exhibitors favourite quidditch teams, he took note of a lot of gray merchandise the same colour he had been laying on just a few moments earlier. His eyes kept sweeping over the room as he started his walk towards the door back up, he caught one of the other beds in his periphery vision the curtains were opened, he stopped dead in his tracks and turned around not only were the curtains opened, but there was also someone sitting on the bed,
looking at him.
He couldn’t do anything but blink, the other person blinked back before he raised one bushy eyebrow, his messy brown hair wasn’t long enough to fall over his forehead, but it was clear that the guy had just woken up.
Hopping that maybe the guy would just forget that this happened or maybe he’d think that he started having nightmares about his least favourite prefect (and head boy). Percy would have found that idea, amusing if not slightly insulting had there been different circumstances but in this situation, he could only turn back towards the door and hurried outside the room as quickly as possible hopping that there wouldn’t be any other encounters like this one on his way out.
He had been lucky most of the Slitherins must still be asleep or to tiered from the party yesterday, Percy could relate his head was still throbbing, he assumed that that was due to exhaustion rather than the aftereffects of alcohol, he might had been a lightweight for all his life but that usually ment he couldn’t so much alcohol that he’d have drastic followings the next day.
The dark green and general dimm atmosphere off the dungeons was more comfortable than Percy would have ever thought, but now stubeling through the halls he realised that he’d Retter see this on a morning after… most things than the aggressive red and gold that all of griff indoor tower was decked out with.
Climbing up the stairs turned out to be much harder than his attempt at hiding from any portraits was, most of the painted people and people feel into some kind of artificial rest where they lost looked like they were seelping, it was interesting that almost every living bein lost so Mauch time on sleep that they couldn’t even escape it in their own magic immortalizaition.
While he dragged his feet up the last stairs towards Griffindoor tower, he realised that trying to prevent thinking about whatever had happened yesterday, hadn’t happened.
What was going to happen going forward, would they ignore each other safe for the insults both would throw at each other on the regular, and what was up with that.
Marcus had been the one to approach him was his poor and disgraced Familie suddenly not a bad thing anymore when flint wanted to get off.
But they didn’t een do anything like that
He was stumping up to the fat lady, he didn’t bother with her antics this morning, and simply ignored her after saying the password, he heard her offendet shrieking behind him while he climbed through the entrance, why did theirs hae to be a stupid hole in wall while the Slitherins got a nice hallway.
He had gotten stuck thinking about it now. Why didn’t Flint even try to go further than they had.
Did he decide mid snog that Percy was actually realy not that great, or had he just wanted to see if birds weren’t the only ones who did it for him, not that that had stopped some off the guys Percy had been with, who had after the act wholeheartedly defended their ”straightnes“ to an entirely uninterested Percy.
He had made up his mind when he reached his dorm, leaving had been the best choice of action, who knew if compleatly sober Marcus wasn’t an agresive queer hating Wanker. The way flint usually suggested that.
None of his roommates were awake yet, which Percy was glad for as feel face first onto his bed. He hadn’t bothered to put his shoes on probably before so kicking them of his feet at the side of his bed was easy and as he pulled his blankets over his head; he dreaded the day that he would be forced into in an hour.
Percy was awoken by the stupid alarm clock Oliver had bought at the start off this year, the … thing had cost Percy a lot of nerve and sleep time when Oliver ordert early practice.
Olivers feet hit the carpeted ground as loud as possible, or that was what Percy had decided was the reason for his awakening. It wasn’t hard to imagine both the boys he shared his room with were rather incapable off perceiving their own movements and the impact those had on the world around them.
Beside being more tierd that usual there hadn’t been anything that suggested this morning to be an extraordinary one. Percy had trotted to the bathroom, brushed his teeth eyes half closed after he only walked back out to put clean clothes on, he ignored the rumpelt heap of cloth that was still were he had left it earlier.
Picking a sweater wasn’t hard besides the bright colors off the sweaters that his mother had made him and the scratchy second-hand stuff, he pretended to be greatfull for when he got them there was a small selection of muted browns, greens and blues that he liked more than probably half his other clothing they were made of some of the softest material he had ever felt, they must have been expensive, of course they had been he-
Percy caught himself before pretty green eyes and sift blond hair forced themselves into his mind. He only slipped one on befor he grabbed his book bag, he absentmindedly thanks his past self for preparing it before he went to the party while he made the conscious decision to go to the library right after he was done with eating breakfast.
The corridors were rather vacant as he walked through them, the more disappointing was the fact that the great hall was rather full.
Oliver was already seated were he usually sat, as the leader of the other muscle heads he liked to hang out with, sadly being Oliver’s roommate ment that Percy was in the other boy's vicinity which ment that he had to be Olivers friend,
becourse Merlin forbid no one would ever just like to co exist beside griffindoor golden boy.
No, one would be pulled onto the bench beside said boy, between all his loud friends and one would like it.
Percy tried to ignore a far to tall, probably third year screaming into his ear while trying to scream at Oliver, he let his eyes wander over the great hall and then his eyes caught almost black ones, what Color they realy were, wasn’t something he had been able to figure out yesterday, it had constantly been to dark and they’re eyes hadn’t been open of a good bit-.
he looked away as soon as he realised that he hadn’t been the first to stare.
For the rest of breakfast Percy tried just concentrate on eating his food but Flints eyes
Stayed on him for the rest of the time as well, and if that wasn’t bad enouth he realised that there was a very familiar bed head sitting right in front of Flint.
Oliver of course took that moment to annoy the hell out of Percy he had draped one way to heavy arm over the read heads shoulders and the weight made Percy slump forward, stupid quidditch arms.
Percy didn’t wait long, he only put the book that he had been holding before he pushed Oliver of him, all the douche did in response to Percy’s retaliation was laugh at him,
But Percy didn’t lingre on that for to long because the boy who’s name Percy didn’t know; all he knew was that the guy was Marc- Flints roommate and that he had seen Percy sneaking out of Flints bed ahd their room this morning, he must have noticed flints staring as well, because only a few seconds after he had raised his head he turned around narrowly avoiding Percy’s eye but Percy knew that he had seen him when he felt the others eyes lingered on him a bit longer than usual.
On one hand he had been glad that Flints only retaliation to Percys little disappear act was the starting but on the other hand it made hi more anxious than anything since the guy was aperantly not at all cool with just pretending yesterday had never happened like Percy had hopped, granted the only other option he had expected was a fist, into his face, so this was arguably still better than that, but one could also argue that at least it would have probably been over with that, now Percy only knew that he didn’t know what to expect.
After the had proficiently pushed his food around on his plate without eating most of it he got up to head towards the library, not sure if he should hope that Penny woul be there or hope that she wouldn’t be, she most likely had seen at least glances of him and Marcus at the party, even if she didn’t realize it was Marcus she’d realised that Percy had been with a boy and that would be enough to put him into restraints and interrogate him until the sun went down.
Surprisingly when he did meet her in the library half an hour after that thought she had been rather civil only asking if he had gotten back to his dorm safely after the party, he chose to respond with a rather non committal nod, Shute in the end he had gotten to his dorm safely but the five or six hours in between were something that would make it feel like a lie and he didn’t like to lie to Penny.
He disliked lying in general but his best friend held a general special place in his life.
Penny and him had become friends after they developed a silent agreement to sit together at this table in the library, becourse they were the only ones who respected each others study time as much as the other did, and from there it only developed into more not into what both of them had hopped for at one point Penny only wantin a nice and respectful boyfriend who she could study with and Percy fully aware that he would most likely not sudenly develop an interest in women in general had hopped that Penny, perfect as she was might have been the exception, of course that had only lead to Percy sobbing about how gay he was after a failure of a kiss but they both thought their friendship was stronger for it now.
His head was throbbing as he laid it down on the cold wood of the table, they had been studying for hours at this point and from the corner of his eye he could see that tall bookcases spin around in the air, he could hear penny snicker from the ear that wasn’t pressed into the cool surface, for a nice person she could be pretty mean he looked up when she sudenly stoped laughing at his plight, he could immediately see what had made her stop so abruptly.
“Could we talk?”.
It was a question, that much was pretty clear Percy could have refused, but he didn’t really want to, better to get it over with.
He only nodded befor getting up to follow Marcus out of the library, on the way out he tried to give Penny a reassuring look that he regretted as soon as he saw her raised eyebrow, he definitely wouldn’t get out of a questioning this time.
He looked back in front of him were Marcus was walking, Percy couldn’t see his face from this angle but he had seen that Marcus hair had been slightly damp, like had just showered. The other had also not looked angry which Percy didn’t know what to think of.
They were walking outside the library along a secluded coridoor.
Marc- Flint hadn’t said anything the whole Time so at some point after Percy ah had enough, he decided to grab Flints arm to pull him into one of the alcoves on the side of the corridor.
The tall man followed Percy’s lead surprisingly easily.
Percy leaned against one of the thight walls and had to fight Déjà vu and disappointment down when Marcus leaned his own back against the wall in front of him instead of leaning beside him.
He took a moment to look over Flints appearance, he had never seen another pureblood were a normal muggle T-shirt like that, and man seriously, what was with those stupid quidditch arms.
Percy forced his eyes back up to look at Marcus face, not at his eyes they had an intensity that he wouldn’t be able to deal with at the moment.
After a few quiet moments flew by Percy felt the next words crawl out of his throat, and before he could think better off it they had leaped past his cracked lips into the open.
“So, You said you wanted to talk”?
