The corridors that we once walked trough
Finally, they stopped when Marcus pulled Percy around one last corner and they leaned against the wall beside each other. Percy could still feel the tension from there small disagreement, his misstep in underestimating his vocal cords and finally their stressful escape. The silence between them seamed to press down on his lungs so he just spit out the first thing that came to mind ´´so much for avoiding stairs´´ at that he could hear Marcus let out a breath, it seamed like Percy had not been the only one worried about the former awkwardness. He took a quiet breath before he spoke again ´´I thought Snape would prefer to catch as many student as he can at he party´´ his courage grew at Marcus reactive huff ´´you know, way easier than chasing two random students down to the dungeons´´ this time he was mindful to keep his voice beyond the average noise level, this didn’t help to quiet his reaction to Marcus next words ´´don’t underestimate that nosey fucker, he’s one petty batard. One time he followed Adrian ´´ Percy just assumed he meant the Adrian from the slivering quidditch team ´´a whole night through the castle, when he was out after curfew, just so he could give him a bigger punishment´´ marcus face, despite a small grimace didn’t lead on what exactly it was that he felt at the memory. ´´why would he follow him around him around after curfew just to get hm in trouble? ´´percy glanced over to Marcus where he could spot a small grin on the others face, as he felt him grab his hand to pull him off the wall, they had been leaning on. ´´he was out for four hours, Professor Snape followed him the whole time, just to give him four times the detention he would have gotten had Snape just called him out in the beginning´´.
Percy Looked surprised down at their hands, and back up at Marcus but his mouth was faster than his brain and before he could utter a question about that he said ´´ II always assumed that Professor Snape doesn’t give Sliverins any punishments? ´´.
And as if Marcus had written all of his unsaid words, he pointed towards one off the hallways in-front off them and guided him towards it while speaking ´´he punishes us two, he just doesn’t take house points from us. I think he just loves fucking with the the other professors too much, even more than he hates children apparently?´´ Marcus scrunched up face that came with gossiping over their, apparently child hating professor had Percy suppressing another quiet laugh ´´have you ever thought that perhaps professor Snape just loves to see the devastation off all other students in Hogwarts after Slivethrin wins the house cup ?´´ they both had to chuckle at the image of their professor sitting in the great hall, a evil smirk on his face only thriving on all the devastation on his students faces.
Percy had seen it several times before the absolute menace that is Harry Potter started school and flipped all normalcy, they had upside down. ´´You might be right about that, me and some other seventh years are pretty sure that he’s a vampire that feeds of off other people's pain and misery´´ Percy laughed at that but coming back to his previous thoughts he couldn’t help but wonder if Marcus still knew where they were going. He himself Thad lost track off their surrounding as soon as they stepped off the stairs, the grey and black stone walls blending tighter in his mind thanks to the dim lifting, and maybe his intoxication. He was just reviled that wherever they were going wasn’t cold and wet like the corridors most off the corridors around the potion labs.
Even after their reverting escape minuets before had Percys mind not completely reached coherency and his filters where still not back where they should be ´´maybe he is just a sadist´´. He feat Marcus's hand get tighter, and his Body go ridged, and for a split second he was afraid that maybe he had gone too far before he heard a loud choked up lough from said boy and now, he was sure that his normal cautious approach to human interaction wasn’t needed here.
They had walked past a few doors and more grey and black stone walls when percy Finlay found remembered to ask ´´hey ehr.. where exactly are we going´´it felt like his brain was still playing catch up with everything that had transpired over the last couple off hours.
So, when Marcus stopped for a moment purely to look at percy strangely, he really didn’t know why ,, Weasley, did you just let me drag you around the castle, for what is probably almost half an hour at this point, without knowing where we were going? ´´ percy felt embarrassment light up his cheeks before he could defend himself, curse his unusually light competition ,,I was a bit busy with, first getting away from Snape and second worrying about not getting caught again. Also, it may have taken me a bit to realise that you actually had a plan, and in my defence my brain is working Kind off slow right now´´ he had only whispered the last part but from the knowing smile on Marcus face conveyed that he knew exactly what Percy had said.
And his smile turning teasing he continued speaking ´´I feel like I should worry more about your alcohol tolerance-´´and before Percy could get offended he continued ´´and we’re going to my common room ´´ marcus started walking towards one of the endless and as Percy let himself be pulled along by their intertwined hand he thought that maybe all off the slitherins seemed so stupid because their mind was so occupied with remembering all off the Dungeon maze. Authors note: To stupid head full off dungeon.
He Felt a light flush on his face he couldn’t believe he hadn’t asked this sooner ´´ you don’t quiescently have a plan for me to get to my rooms ´´.
Marcus stopped and Percys in his sluggish state almost bumped into the boy in front of him again, the only thing that stopped him from doing so was the grip Marcus had on his arm. “You were really not prepared for anything tonight’’ Percy wasn’t sure if he should take that that as an insult or not “sorry for not being an expert on escape strategy” “you should be who goes to a forbidden party without a plan in case they get caught” he looked expecting at Percy and … okay so maybe Marcus was right. “I guess that’s just the Gryffindor part off me” he said drily before he remembered “and penny said that these parties aren’t forbidden” and then quietly added “there just grey areas that the teachers tolerate”. He didn’t know what to make off the blank look on Markus face that followed his statement “you really got that poor girl wrapped around your finger” Percy was sure his ears and face would forever stay the blotchy indignant red they had turned “me and penny are just friends” Marcus raised an eyebrow he obviously didn’t believe him “does she know that?” “Yes, off course, how did you even get that idea”. But Marcus never answered his question instead he just shrugged his shoulders and turned around to face one off the countless ugly grey wall’s.
Percy was very close to just giving up and excepting whatever came to him tonight, but the voices off his older brothers that tolled horror stories about evil slitherins that seduced and defied helpless young witches, started to simmer in the back off his mind and even though his brothers had tolled these stories to his youngest sister Ginny, he was sure that his luck was bad enough that he’d end up in that position. He softly knocked his hand against Markus back to get his attention, said boy had, up until now only stayed there starring at the wall weirdly before he turned around to look at Percy, who had started to feel slightly self-conscious under the others gaze said they “I still don’t really get where I’m supposed to stay tonight”. He was glad that they weren’t walking anymore, and he was able to just stay pressed against the wall that Marcus had been starring at, now he was staring at Percy, his face reminded him off bills face when he had tried to understand why 6 year old Percy had told their pregnant neighbour that she had gotten bigger with his only defence being that he had just been honest after the poor women had left their house in tears. Percy understood now why his behaviour had been rude, but he still understood his younger self confusion.
Marcus had turn back towards the wall before he scratched the back off his neck “I thought that you could just stay in my room for the night” it took Percy a second to register the other words, then he turned red his eyes wide, and brows furrowed he failed to stammer out the questions that swirled through his head.
Marcus had glanced towards Percy before he did a double take to let his eyes glaze over Percy’s red face. Understanding dawned on his face before he two turned red. “I didn’t mean...” he two stumbled over his words before he pressed his right hand against his forehead “I wasn’t thinking about that” the red spots on his face stayed but Percy could feel his voice come back to him “and there is no way you’d have any inappropriate intentions? No ulterior Slytherin motives?“ Marcus was looking into his narrowed eyes and Percy could see that even his ears were now red. „Circe, Weasley how does everything you say sound like we’re at a job interview? “.
Marcus had draped his left arm over his face to hide it and Percy felt like Marcus being the on to be embarrassed was a bit unfair for one because Percy was the one fearing for his own physical purity here but also because the difference between his usual frown or shit eating grin and his flustered expression now was definitely not an unpleasant one. He could feel his own face cool a bit and with that he realised how Marcus had answered he raised his eyebrows and for a moment he felt dread as he remembered how his brothers always pointed out how he looked like his mother when he acted like this, but flint didn’t know his mother “that doesn’t answer my question”.
Percy could see Marcus flinch before he let is arms drop to his side, Percy had expected some kind off defensive anger instead he looked kind off embarrassed now he looked straight (ironically enough) into Percy’s eyes, he seamed to calm himself down before a sly smile flickered over his face, the only proof off the blush that had been on his face before were the slightly red tinged tips off his ears and Percy for a short moment regretted to have accused Marcus off being this uncivil, at least he had until said boy opened his mouth “what do boys usually want form you, for you to be so wound up about this now” it wasn’t a question and Percy knew this because Marcus didn’t even wait for an answer before stepped towards Percy until they was only a hairs breadth apart and continued “and im not gonna do anything you don’t want me to” and Percy was sure that stupid snake in that stupid garden in that stupid muggle tale must shave sounded just like that.
Marcus had, before Percy could recover from that deep voice ringing in his ears turned back towards the wall besides them, they were still close enough for Percy to hear him mutter a quiet “tempos” and a second after green caper came out off Marcus wand to form the numbers 00.30 and Percy would be worried about the fact that he was out so long after curfew if he had not expected that to be the least problematic thing he’d done this night or would do, staying in the Slytherin dorms over the night would surely earn him more than just a howler from his mother should she ever find out not even thinking about what his siblings would do. Marcus nodded his head at the numbers “ok the dorms should be empty now” he had turned back towards Percy who felt slightly confused “ok? So how do we get there”.
He felt Marcus he and grabbing his arm and softly turning him around, so he stood beside him facing the wall before he heard him mutter something under his breath witch this time, he couldn’t understand but his thoughts could not be occupied with the unheard words for long because the Suden rumbling the wall gave off distracted him. His eyes crept flickering between the shaking grey stones and then where the stones pattern was divided perfectly in the middle. Marcus who had stayed silent during the dorm opening only glazed at Percy for a second softly squeezed his arm where his hand still healed him before he let go to stepped into the darkness. The walls were black almost like they were simply a tear in reality the ground was the same stone pattern as the hallway Percy was still standing in.
He’d been so engrossed with the wired walls that he only now realised that it would only take a few steps to get into the slithering dorms were Marcus stood, not even a step away from the crossover, he could already sense the overbearing amount off green that would undoubtedly be in the Slitherins dorm. “Weasley? Are you coming?” He looked at Percy, his raised eyebrow the only thing that changed up his usual expression and Percy was pretty sure that Marcus usual bitch face didn’t always mean that he felt like murdering everyone in his way, at least not always. Percy shock himself out off his second thoughts before he stepped into that dark hallway looking off to the side while he said “fine, but no funny business” Marcus seamed to take that as a joke, which was good cause Percy didn’t really now how he meant it himself he only grinned “don’t worry, Who would dare to mess with you, mister perfect head boy” he had turned around so he didn’t notice Percy’s face fall and the conflicted grimace that spread over his face. The jest in Marcus words didn’t seam to be at Percy’s expense, he still did not like it he had heard the same words way too many times in his brother's word.
He kept going and, in the end, he stepped over into the common room right 0behind Marcus.
