I'm Going Mad

The week flew quickly, and many people were more than thankful for that; Matilde more than anyone else.

On the second day of the school year, someone cornered her and asked how much she would cost; everyone around him thought it was the funniest thing on the planet. As apparently, that was the only way a Donovan could get money, all thanks to the person who gave birth to her; Kelly Donovan the worst mother on the fucking planet

Anyway, 20 minutes later, he was being loaded into an ambulance, unconscious. Matilde, however, was being put into the back of a police car. And by the time the arresting officer had buckled in, she had already undone her cuffs. Surprisingly, this wasn't the first time she was in this situation
And so, it didn't take long for the charges to be dropped.

The mayor, Richard Lockwood, even made an appearance, hoping to blackmail or bribe her into getting Tyler back to the place he was being abused as a child.
Long story short, it didn't work.

This didn't mean she went back to school, as apparently being in a coma was punishment enough for sexual harassment.
Resulting in Matilde going M.I.A to the whole school, the whole town even.

Vicki called, congratulating her for literally knocking some sense into the disgusting pig of a boy. All before spilling the pre-recorded speech when Matilde was hurting, remember to eat at least twice a day even if it was hard, try and sleep, drink water, not alcohol; and if she was going to run away, make sure you can speak the language.

Matilda felt so warm from her sister's sentiment, yes it grated on her, but she cared. Victoria Donovan cared.
Even after a decade, it still shocked the teenager to her very core, people truly cared for her.
And when Tori told Matilde that she could be back in town tomorrow if Matilde needed her, she all but sobbed with love

Tyler, however, wasn't just anyone. He knew where to find her; their place the secret moon room, Matilde put in the house with magic.
At first, it was just a project to let off steam, sue her she was a seventeen-year-old who had just died and ended up in a body of a six-year-old who had not one drop of magic. But when Matilde managed to scrap together something that resembled Occlumency shields, and became somewhat functioning again.

It was just the beginning.

On her first day at school as a 6 year old Matilde Kassandra Donovan, Tyler practically followed her around like a lost puppy, declaring he was her new best friend. The Mayor's son couldn't put into words how relaxed and safe he felt when in Matilde's presence, her magic was subconsciously soothing him; after all, she always had a soft spot for wolves. They just got each other and would be the first person they would call when getting rid of a body, which happened the night Tyler triggered his curse

"Should I be worried," Tyler murmured when he poked his head into the navy room
The only sound that could be heard was the sound of never-ending rain hitting the window. Even the flickering candles she had been staring at, hypnotised by the melting wax didn't make her answer. Only when the normally comfortable air, started to suffocate her; Matilde huffed out a tired "No"

Lying down next to her, and looking up at the start ceiling, Tyler mused, "Stefan has been asking about you" The werewolf could picture the utter disbelief on Matilde's face, even though his eyes never strayed from the Delphinus constellation on the ceiling, "Something about animal attacks"
"He does know, he is the prime suspect"
"I don't think he really cares"

Tyler's phone kept vibrating in his pocket, and a smile made his way to his face.
"Is it Leon?"
"He asked me the party," Tyler's voice was shy
"Then why are you with me." Matilde was flabbergasted, "you've been wanting to go on a date for months"

Tyler turned his head, his eyes blinding as the midday sun. "Thor"
"Wolfy." Matilde replied

Tyler growled lowly, a terrifying sound reverberating from the back of his throat, and he still gave in first. The smell of the Ozone practically burning his nose, "The minute you feel off, we leave"
"I solemnly swear"

Matilde was happily sitting next to the Bonfire, in the middle of the dark woods, surrounded by drunk teenagers. Sipping from her lavender flask with a Lightning bolt etched on; a gift Victoria gave her for her 16th birthday, matching the one she bought herself when her University acceptance letter arrived.
And after a small spell or two, Matilde would know if her drink had been spiked, as the lavender would turn a horrid sickly green. That, and a spectacular charm, if you asked her, making the Rum she preferred to drink never run out.

Suddenly, she felt as if the world melted away as fog rolled in.
Rain started to fall. Hot. Sticky. Red rain. Iron permeated the earth and crows flocked the night skies.

She didn't realise she was crying until a pair of burning hands brushed them away. "Wolfy?!"
"Yeah, Thor, it's me"

"Wolfy." Matilde sobbed into his shirt, as sounds of drunken cheers and crackling flames screamed in her ears
Tyler leant his cheek against her hair, rocking back and forth. "It's okay, you're safe, you're safe," he reassured, though he wasn't 100% sure who for. "That's it, let it all out"

Bonnie Bennett was walking further and further into the crowd, trying to create as much distance between her and Elena as possible. More specifically, the cold chill that blasted through her.

She was starting to believe something was seriously wrong with her. Yes, her grandmother was saying she was psychic, but Bonnie didn't believe her.
She might have if she told her when she was younger, but not now.
Yet, what she just saw was irrevocable proof that she was.

She had sat next to the fire, needing to relax, as it always did when she was younger.
Looking into the flames she started to think of what she saw, not knowing who was near her when she did.

Her concentration only stopped, when broken pleads entered her ears.
And for the first time, Bonnie was utterly frozen. Matilde's eyes were as bright as the blazing embers, but instead of the raging reds, they were electric blue. Her hair frizzy, like she rubbed a balloon on it like last year's science lesson.

Pulling the first person she could, and demanding they find, Tyler Lockwood; Matilde's fingers started to claw at the grass, not caring for her breaking fingernails or that they started to bleed. And every time Bonnie tried to get her to stop, she would get the most painful shock

"What do you want, Bennett?"

Tyler was having a great night. He found Leon, who was looking so hot. They had gone to the falls and talked, even kissed him.
It was soft, and warm, and filled him with so many butterflies he thought he was going to throw up. That was when the urge to rip something or someone apart when they were interrupted.

Tyler looked at Bonnie, still rocking a mumbling Matilde, "Do you have a car"
"Yes."
"Get it," Tyler demanded, lifting a catatonic Matilde bridal style and didn't let her go, not until they were back at the Donovan's.

Bonnie had regrettably gone back to the party, and apparently missed that a student was now clinging to life. Gripping her thin cardigan tighter around herself, she set off to find Caroline Forbes.
She was the sole reason Caroline got to the party, after getting ready at her house, and her being extremely drunk was not good for the sheriff's daughter.

So, putting a passed-out Caroline Forbes into the back of her car, Bonnie drove to her father's house with warm air blasting through her little vent. Her hands shook, her lips turning purple, and the hair on the back of her neck stood on end.
Even entering the house her father hadn't stepped foot in, in months, with a sweating Caroline, couldn't stop the feeling of someone watching her.

So much for her prediction that this year was going to be Epic
