Love in the city(Mikayuu)

Title: Love in the City

The city never truly slept, and neither did Mika and Yuu.

It was almost midnight, and the neon lights of Shinjuku painted the streets in a hazy glow. Mika and Yuu walked side by side, hands brushing occasionally, though neither made the move to fully intertwine them. It wasn’t because they didn’t want to—it was just that Yuu was stubborn.

Mika glanced at him with a teasing smirk. “Are you really going to act like we’re just two bros walking home from dinner?”

Yuu scoffed, shoving his hands deeper into the pockets of his hoodie. “We did just have dinner.”

Mika sighed dramatically before stepping in front of Yuu, walking backward as he grinned. “And we’re also dating, Yuu-chan. Couples hold hands, you know.”

Yuu rolled his eyes, cheeks tinged pink, before grabbing Mika’s wrist and tugging him back to his side. “Happy now?”

Mika chuckled, lacing their fingers together properly, his grip warm and firm. “Very.”

They continued walking, the cool night breeze ruffling their hair. It had been a long day—college classes, work shifts, and a chaotic double date with Shinoa and Mitsuba, who somehow managed to flirt and bicker in equal measure.

Earlier That Evening – The Double Date

“Yuu-chan, don’t just stab your steak like it owes you money,” Mika scolded playfully, watching as Yuu aggressively cut into his meal.

Across the table, Shinoa smirked. “He’s probably just mad that Mitsuba and I are the superior couple.”

Mitsuba, who had been sipping her drink, choked. “Excuse me? Since when?”

Shinoa shrugged, twirling a lock of her dark hair. “Since always, babe.”

Mitsuba flushed but didn’t argue, instead reaching for Shinoa’s hand under the table. Mika and Yuu exchanged amused glances before Mika leaned in, whispering dramatically, “I think we’re watching them have a moment.”

Yuu snorted but didn’t deny it. Even if Mitsuba acted all tough, she and Shinoa were basically inseparable.

Shinoa smirked at them. “You two should take notes. You’ve been dating for a year, and Mika’s still the only one showing proper relationship energy.”

Yuu groaned. “Can you stop saying ‘relationship energy’ like it’s a stat in an RPG?”

Mitsuba smirked. “Yeah, it’s obviously a gacha system. And Yuu’s got zero luck when it comes to romance.”

Mika, ever the patient one, simply smiled before pressing a kiss to Yuu’s cheek. “It’s fine. I don’t mind carrying.”

Yuu turned red instantly, and Shinoa and Mitsuba burst into laughter.

Back to the Present

Now, as they walked toward Mika’s apartment, Yuu squeezed Mika’s hand just a little tighter.

“You’re thinking about what Shinoa said, aren’t you?” Mika asked, tilting his head in amusement.

“Tch. No.”

Mika hummed. “Sure.”

A pause. Then, without warning, Yuu stopped walking, tugging Mika to a halt.

“What—” Mika started, but his words were cut off when Yuu quickly leaned in, pressing a fleeting kiss to the corner of his lips before pulling back. His face was burning.

“There. Relationship energy.”

Mika blinked, stunned for half a second, before a slow grin spread across his lips. “Wow. You might’ve just broken the gacha system.”

Yuu groaned, but Mika only laughed, wrapping his arms around Yuu and pulling him close. “I love you, Yuu-chan.”

Yuu sighed, letting himself relax in Mika’s embrace. “Yeah, yeah. I love you too.”

And with that, they continued walking—hand in hand, love glowing as brightly as the city around them.

Title: Love in the City

The city lights reflected in Mika’s bright blue eyes as he and Yuu made their way back to Mika’s apartment, their fingers still loosely intertwined. The streets were quieter now, the occasional car passing by, but Yuu barely noticed anything except the warmth of Mika’s hand in his.

After that quick kiss earlier, Yuu had expected Mika to tease him relentlessly. Instead, Mika was just smiling, looking at him like he had just won the lottery. It made Yuu’s chest feel tight in a way he couldn’t quite explain.

“What?” Yuu finally asked, glancing at Mika from the corner of his eye.

Mika tilted his head. “What, what?”

“You’re staring.”

“I just like looking at you.”

Yuu groaned, pulling his hoodie over his head in embarrassment. “You’re so annoying.”

Mika laughed, the sound light and full of warmth. “And you’re so cute.”

Yuu felt his ears turn red but didn’t let go of Mika’s hand. Instead, he tugged him along a little faster. “Come on, it’s late.”

When they finally reached Mika’s apartment, Mika fumbled with his keys while Yuu leaned against the doorframe, watching. The moment Mika pushed the door open, Yuu walked in like he had done a hundred times before.

Mika shut the door behind them and stretched. “Want tea?”

“Yeah, sure,” Yuu muttered as he flopped onto Mika’s couch, watching as Mika moved around the kitchen with ease.

Yuu had never been much for fancy drinks, but Mika always insisted on making him tea before bed. “You don’t take care of yourself enough,” Mika would say. “So I’ll do it for you.”

Yuu sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. He was so whipped for this guy.

Meanwhile – At Shinoa and Mitsuba’s Apartment

Shinoa sat cross-legged on the couch, watching Mitsuba type furiously on her laptop.

“Hey, babe?”

“Mm?” Mitsuba didn’t look up.

“If Yuu and Mika got married, do you think Mika would take Yuu’s last name, or would Yuu take Mika’s?”

Mitsuba froze mid-typing and slowly turned to look at Shinoa. “What.”

Shinoa grinned. “Come on, imagine it. Mika Hyakuya or Yuu Shindou?”

Mitsuba blinked, processing the absurdity of the question, before scoffing. “Yuu definitely wouldn’t change his last name. He’s too stubborn.”

“True. But Mika would probably do it without hesitation.”

Mitsuba considered this, then smirked. “Yeah. He’s already a househusband without the marriage part.”

Shinoa giggled. “Oh my god, you’re right.”

Just then, Mitsuba’s phone buzzed. She checked the screen and laughed.

“Speak of the devil—Yuu just texted me.”

Shinoa perked up. “What’s he saying?”

Mitsuba read the message aloud: “How do you get your gf to stop teasing you about being affectionate?”

Shinoa burst out laughing. “Tell him it’s a lost cause. Mika’s never letting him live that kiss down.”

Mitsuba typed back: “LMAO just accept your fate. Mika deserves to win sometimes.”

Almost immediately, Yuu responded with a single word: “Traitor.”

Shinoa and Mitsuba collapsed into laughter.

Back to Mika and Yuu

Mika walked over to the couch, setting a cup of tea in front of Yuu before sitting beside him, pulling his legs up comfortably. “You’re really on your phone right now? I thought this was our time.”

Yuu rolled his eyes but put his phone away. “Mitsuba’s being annoying.”

Mika raised an eyebrow. “Or are you just mad that she agreed with me?”

Yuu groaned. “I swear—”

Mika leaned in, pressing a quick kiss to Yuu’s cheek. “Don’t swear, Yuu-chan. It’s bedtime.”

Yuu stared at him, deadpan. “I hate you.”

Mika only smiled, tugging Yuu down onto the couch so they were lying together, Mika’s arms wrapped snugly around Yuu’s waist. “No, you don’t.”

Yuu sighed, resting his head against Mika’s chest. “…No, I don’t.”

They lay there in comfortable silence, the city lights glowing softly outside the window.

“Hey, Mika?” Yuu murmured sleepily.

“Yeah?”

Yuu shifted slightly, tightening his grip around Mika. “I like… this. Being with you.”

Mika’s breath hitched slightly, but he quickly buried his face in Yuu’s hair, smiling against him. “Me too, Yuu-chan.”

And as the night stretched on, they held each other close—two hearts beating in perfect sync, lost in a love as endless as the city lights around them.

Love in the City

The apartment was quiet, save for the distant hum of the city outside. Mika’s arms were still wrapped around Yuu, their bodies comfortably tangled together on the couch. The warmth between them was soothing, and for once, Yuu didn’t feel the need to move away.

Mika’s fingers traced slow, absentminded patterns on Yuu’s back, his touch gentle yet firm. “You’re comfortable,” Mika mused, his voice soft.

Yuu huffed, hiding his face against Mika’s chest. “Shut up.”

Mika chuckled. “You like cuddling with me.”

“Shut up.”

Mika smirked, shifting slightly so he could tilt Yuu’s face up to meet his gaze. “Make me.”

Yuu’s breath hitched as he met Mika’s eyes, glowing faintly in the dim light of the apartment. There was something playful in Mika’s expression, but beneath that, something deeper—something that made Yuu’s heart race in his chest.

Without thinking, Yuu rolled his eyes and muttered, “Fine,” before grabbing the front of Mika’s hoodie and pulling him down into a kiss.

Mika inhaled sharply in surprise, but within seconds, he melted into it, his arms tightening around Yuu’s waist. The kiss was slow and deep, lingering in a way that made Yuu’s stomach twist with warmth. Mika’s lips were soft, warm—perfect—moving against his with an ease that sent a shiver down his spine.

Mika pulled back just enough to whisper against Yuu’s lips, “You really do like kissing me.”

Yuu groaned, pressing their foreheads together. “Why do I date you?”

Mika grinned, his fingers brushing along Yuu’s jaw before he kissed him again—this time slower, softer, as if savoring every second. When they finally pulled away, Yuu could barely breathe, his heart hammering in his chest.

Mika smirked. “Because you love me.”

Yuu sighed dramatically but didn’t deny it. Instead, he leaned in and kissed Mika one more time—just because he could.
