Hinny+Kids; little Mess

Harry Potter loved his children. He loved playing with them and hearing them laugh. But one thing he utterly hated about having a little girl was her long hair. He never cared about his two sons messy hair, they had gotten it from him after all. Harry tried his best but dealing with his family hair heritage was a big no for him.

Now Harry had to find a way to make his only daughter’s hair presentable. Ginny had gone to the Burrow first to help with the birthday preparations and food along with the other women in the family. But she left early in the morning when the kids were sleeping leaving Harry to get them ready when it was time.

Apparently both him and Ginny thought it was a good idea to let Lily sleep with her hair down after washing it late in the evening. Not the best choice they’ve made so far. Harry had already gotten James and Albus ready, they were just sitting around in the living room talking to each other and playing with their toys. But he just couldn’t figure out how to do little Lily’s hair. It looked so messy that he was scared that if he tried to even brush it, it would hurt her. He had to find a way and quickly because he was more than sure they were late to the party.

After at least sitting behind Lily for what felt like an hour Harry decided to risk it. He grabbed the brush from off the floor and carefully tried to run it through the mess of red hair. He grimaced and apologized when he heard Lily complain. He brushed it off a couple of times before taking a hair tie and trying to tie half of Lily’s hair up. A groan left Harry’s mouth when he finished tying it up. It didn’t look good, at all. Her hair was still a mess but more…decent? Maybe…he wasn’t sure.

A little giggle made his head whip to his right. A little embarrassed smile appeared on his face, “Making fun of me Jamie?” The little boy nodded and kept on giggling which did not help Harry feel any better.

How could a little girl have so much hair and how it could be so messy?

A ‘pop’ attracted all of their attention, Ginny was back. James ran to her with his little arms reaching, Ginny caught him midway and raised him up just to place him on her hip. She walked up to where Harry was sitting on the floor with Lily in between his crossed legs, a mocking smile on her face. “Need help?” A relief groan escaped Harry’s mouth as he kissed Lily’s head and got up from where he was sitting.

“Mama! Papa don’t know how to brush my hair. He hurt me!” Lily cried out with a pout. Harry sighed and apologized to her while taking James from Ginny’s embrace. Ginny easily casted a spell which made Lily’s hair look more decent and then did a better version of what he was trying to do.

Albus got up and stood beside his dad’s leg, “Papa should never brush hair.” He said with a seriousness that only an adult could archive. Ginny laughed and picked Lily up. Harry’s face got redder than it was before as he looked down at his son with an ‘really’ expression on his face.

“Better if we leave now, Rose hasn’t stopped complaining about Albus not being there and little Fred wants to show James something.” Both boys got excited at the mention of their cousins and held on tight to Harry, preparing themselves to appear at the Burrow.

Harry nodded and smiled, “it was just a little mess.” He said before appearing at the Burrow, his wife and daughter getting there after them.
