When Regulus Black died, he left behind a locket, a note, and a fanatically loyal house elf.He also left behind a portrait. Just in case.When Sirius finds it, it sets them all on a far different path than planned, and maybe, just maybe, they'll all make it out alive.Or: Harry gets expelled in Book 5 instead of being let off, Sirius finds Regulus's portrait, and many more people survive to see the end.
