Regulus
Regulus desperately wanted to leave his hospital bed, he wanted to walk around outside, he wanted to hang out with his husband and dog, he wanted to do a lot of things, but his nurse, Alice, wouldn't let him leave the bed until being released by the doctor, this just made Regulus hate her even further. Eventually, he asked her outright, "Alice, are you not allowed to let me walk around or are you just a bitch?" he glared at her, he was stiff and uncomfortable after being stuck in this bed for most of the day and he just wanted to walk around outside, wanted James.
The nurse looked surprised at his brash language and took a step back from him. "You are allowed to walk around your room, Mr Black." she stated for what must've been the fifth time that day. "Have you called James yet?" Regulus said sharply, glaring at her still.
The nurse sighed, taking a deep breath, "Yes, Mr Black, your husband is on the way. this hospital is rather out of the way of where the two of you live, it will take him a while." she explained patiently. Regulus rolled his eyes, fidgeting with the bed sheets. 'What if he's abandoned you finally?' That little voice in his head jeered, 'i'm honestly surprised it took him this long, I mean, you kind of suck.' the voice taunted. Regulus took a deep breath, he didn't want to believe the voice, but it had a point...
Suddenly the door opened and James entered the room, all It took was James' prescense to ease Regulus' mind, of course, that ease was not long lived as James started fussing over Regulus like he was an infant, insisting on getting him water and helping him in and out of the bed. Eventually, one of the nurses re-entered the room, stating that they needed to give Regulus a CT scan to check where the shrapnel was lodged in his chest.
James apparently did not know about the shrapnel. This became exceptionally clear when he turned to Regulus and collapsed dramatically onto his chest as if he was dying of heartbreak.
After his examination, James relaxed next to him, arms wrapped tight around Regulus' waist, playing with Regulus' knuckles idly, that was all it took, just James existing in the same space as him for Regulus to calm down, now being more relaxed than he'd been all day.
At one point, Alice had attempted to wake the two of them up, which had proven unsuccessful. On the second-to-last day of Regulus' hospital stay, Alice told James that he'd have to leave, as it was for the greater good of his mental and physical well being, as James would've stayed longer but she had informed James that he couldn't stay another night, and, as much as Regulus didn't like the woman, he agreed with her, James needed to go home.
Eventually, and reluctantly, James had left and gone home, promising Regulus that he would be back to pick him up the next morning, and Regulus was alone again.
At some point, he'd been cleared to leave the hospital and wear normal clothes, which felt good, and had been able to shower for the first time in four days, making him feel human again. After washing up, Regulus pressed the "Call Nurse" button and asked for some new sheets to sleep on, as the ones he'd had were grimy and wrinkled.
Once he'd made his sleeping situation a bit better, Regulus had walked up to one of the upper floor balcony's and sat on one of the chairs, watching the city below and enjoying the night air, until Alice had come to collect and escort him to his room.
Later that night, after he'd gotten a good night text from James, Regulus layed back on his now slightly less uncomfortable mattress and closed his eyes, letting the dull sounds of the city around him lull him to sleep.
