Regulus was nice. He knew him and Sirius were related as soon as he set eyes on the boy. Very pale skin, high cheekbones, dark curly hair and a habit to annoy.

When Barty was introduced, Regulus looked as though he was ready to say everything mean thing that he thought of to Barty. And Regulus did just that.

‘I wish we both had cystic fibrosis so we would have to be five feet away from each other at all times.’

‘I want to hang you by your small intestine’

‘If your all about positivity, I hope you test positive for chickenpox and die’

‘I can't wait for winter so you can hibernate with no food’

He said all that to Barty and he only knew him for an hour. Still, if Barty had to rank every Marauders Era character, Regulus would be in third place, just under Pandora and Evan.

Dinner was the best. And when entering, four long wooden tables were placed along with tall windows letting a natural glow shine through them. He sat with Dorcas, Pandora and Regulus on the far right table. Across from them he could see The Marauders re-enacting a scenario to a short girl with long, flowing red hair. She was just laughing along before James put his arm around her shoulder and gave her a peck on her cheek. So that must be Lily. Cool.

As Barty continued to look around the canteen he could see no sign of Evan. Barty could feel his heart break into a million pieces when he realised Evan wasn’t coming.

Oh woes me, there’s nothing left. Except sorrow and tears, I cry alone. How can this really be my destiny?..

The voice of Pandora snapped him out of his daydream.

‘I’m so excited for the show tonight! It must be two weeks since we last performed’

‘It’s a record. I wonder if we’ll end up fighting out by the dock again.’ Regulus replied, his head stuck in ‘The Great Gatsby’.

‘Oh I hope so’ Dorcas started, ‘Marlene was telling me that The Marauders are debuting a new song tonight. I’m one hundred percent sure Evan will be pissed.’

‘Do you play any instruments Bee?’ Pandora asked.

The group all turned their heads towards him.

‘Oh uhh’ he had a spoonful of mash potatoes in his mouth. ‘Yeah I play guitar but I'm more of a lyric kinda guy.’

‘Shit’ Dorcas started, ‘That reminds me, we need a new guitarist, our last one got released’’

‘The audacity!’ Barty replied.

‘I know right,’ Dorcas said, digging into her dinner. ‘I would ask you to join, but I think Evan needs to warm up to you first. He’s not very good at…change’

‘He’s such a drama queen’ Pandora said ‘Even more than this one’ she pointed over towards Regulus who didn’t even bat an eyelid.

Barty just burst out laughing. Regulus absolutely gives off the vibe that if his mother told him to go to his room he would set the building on fire.

After a while of more banter in the group Barty decided to get changed, after all he had a concert to go to!

It was only six, but the sun had started to go down. The gig was three hours away but he needed a shower first. He honestly can’t remember the last time he showered. Gross.

He got to the cabin and to his surprise on the bed was none other than the majestic, god-like figure of Evan Rosier.

Evan was looking through pages of his sheet music, probably figuring out the setlist for tonight.

Barty just leaned on the doorframe until Evan noticed him. And to say he was happy to see Barty was a complete lie.

‘What are you doing here, Crouch?’ he frowned.

‘Watching you of course.’ he smiled. Evan gave him a death stare.

‘Well, stop.’ He said sternly, looking back down at the sheet music in his hands.

‘But you’re my favourite show, any chance I get I try to watch, Rosie.’

‘Don’t call me ‘Rosie.’

‘Why are you being so mean all of a sudden. I thought we were the best of friends, maybe even more’ Barty started to walk slowly over to Evan who still refused to look up from his bed .

– Evan’s Pov –

Evan found out he was gay a long time ago. He was fourteen when he realised. A boy named Benjy Fenwick helped him one time with his maths homework and he’s never looked at girls since (not like he did before). It was simple but that’s just how he knew.

He’s had a couple boyfriends over the years at Hogwarts. His last one, Nick, was the guitarist in the band before he left on ‘good behaviour’. It kinda sucked because he did give good head, he was a massive dick though.

Since then he hasn’t been with anyone. He didn’t really think of it much until Barty Crouch Jr. came into the picture.

Fuck. Evan hated Barty. Well at least he thought he did. When Barty first stepped into the room Evan was ready to drag him out to the woods and kill him. At first he would’ve done it in a heartbeat. Would he now? No, he wouldn’t.

Yeah, Evan thought Barty was fit when he first saw him but he didn’t think anything of it. When he talked back to Sirius, yeah that was funny but Evan really hadn’t talked to Barty properly until the cabin when out of nowhere, Barty started flirting with him. That’s when the denial happened.

He wasn’t one for catching feelings so quickly. He didn’t even like Barty like that. He found every lad fit, so what? Barty wasn’t different.

If anyone ever tells you that ‘confidence is key’, they are absolutely right.

Somehow, Barty outwardly trying to get into Evan’s pants just once, has caused Evan to think that maybe he wouldn’t mind Barty getting into Evan’s pants.

He’s already gotten into Evan’s head and Barty’s only been here 5 hours

Confidence is key.

He hadn’t been to dinner because of the growing realisation. He knows he’s only had one interaction with Barty but Evan was quick to determine how he felt, and right now he wouldn’t mind taking Barty behind the music hall and-

He realised he couldn't pursue Barty.. He thinks it’s the thought of giving Barty the satisfaction of snogging him so soon that puts him off. After all, he did hate him. It’s just an act of spite.

But he knew if he was near Barty he would succumb to his flirtatious remarks too quickly, so that’s why Evan decided to avoid him.

He would say that plan only worked for about an hour.

Now he’s stuck in this situation.

Barty is in his personal space and Evan knows if he looked up things would not end well. From an outsider perspective anyway.

Barty was so close. Evan could feel Barty’s breath on his cheek. The smell of rain water and cedar flooded his nostrils.

He was frozen. There were two sides fighting internally: Do it, and Don’t.

Barty now moved down lower, towards his neck.

Evan swears to God if Barty gave him a hickey right now he would never forgive himself. But, he's not too opposed to it.

Barty’s lips were now ghosting over the crook of his neck.

Just as Evan gave in and was going to let Barty do this, the warmth of his breath left his neck.

He was staring straight at Barty who was now standing in front of him.

Evan hadn’t realised he was holding his breath and when he exhaled he tried his best to make his breath not shake, but if he was going off Barty's facial expression he would say he failed.

‘Oh I’m sorry Rosie, I just thought you hated me. Judging from your attitude towards me I just don’t think you’d want to.’ Evan gulped as Barty took off his shirt to reveal a large tattoo covering the side of his rib cage, - its was some letters but Evan couldn't make out just exactly what it said - and casually strolled out of the room.

Barty was now in the bathroom and Evan was still. When he heard the shower start to flow Evan buried his face in his hands.

Fuck Barty Crouch Jr. (Yes, like that)
