The carrow and black disaster date
Summary
Sirius and Alecto are put on a date by both their parents despite both wanting nothing to do with each other. So both of them have to try their best to make this work.

Alecto Carrow and Sirius Black sat awkwardly at a table in a posh restaurant, the atmosphere heavy with tension. Alecto, though yearning to escape the confines of her family's expectations, felt duty-bound to make an effort to connect with Sirius, for the sake of maintaining appearances and fulfilling her family's wishes. Sirius, on the other hand, was openly hostile towards the notion of being paired with someone solely based on their blood status, his resentment towards his family's values evident in every glance and word.

Sirius, for his part, met her icy gaze with a mixture of defiance and boredom. He had no patience for someone like Alecto, whose ideals and personality he found repulsive and archaic. The only reason he came here was because his mother insisted on it. So he agreed to 1 date with much reluctance.
Alecto attempted to engage Sirius in conversation, her tone clipped and condescending.
"Sirius," she began, her voice dripping with disdain, "I must say, your family's reputation precedes you. I can only hope you prove to be more tolerable than your reputation suggests."
Sirius merely smirked in response, his indifference bordering on insolence. "Likewise, I'm sure," he replied nonchalantly, making no effort to hide his disdain for Alecto.

Their conversation devolved into a series of thinly veiled insults and veiled threats, each word driving a deeper wedge between them. Alecto's attempts to assert her superiority as a carrow only served to fuel Sirius's defiance, his contempt of Alecto and her family only increasing with each breath she took.

Despite feeling like she would rather use the Killing Curse on herself than spend another minute with Sirius, Alecto Carrow made a half-hearted attempt to steer their conversation away from their political ideals. Alecto sought to salvage the evening by finding common ground with Sirius, while Sirius reluctantly agreed to play along only for the sake that his parents won’t give him another long winded lecture.

"So, Sirius," Alecto began tentatively, "have you... traveled anywhere interesting lately?"
Sirius shrugged nonchalantly, his indifference palpable. "Not really," he replied, his gaze wandering around the restaurant. "I've been mostly laying low, you know, keeping out of trouble."
Alecto nodded, inwardly cursing the awkwardness of their conversation. "Yes, well, it's important to avoid unnecessary attention, especially in these... uncertain times."
Sirius scoffed at her euphemism, unable to hide his disdain for the delicate dance they were performing. "Uncertain times, indeed," he muttered under his breath, his frustration bubbling to the surface.

Their attempts at polite small talk quickly fizzled out, replaced by an uncomfortable silence that hung heavily between them. Alecto, feeling the weight of their failed conversation pressing down upon her, searched desperately for a way to salvage the evening.

As the evening wore on, it became increasingly clear that there was no common ground to be found between them. Sirius, unable to stomach Alecto, rose from his seat.
"I've had quite enough of this," he declared, his voice laced with contempt. "I'll take my leave now, if you don't mind."

Alecto watched her departure with a mix of disappointment and satisfaction. She was relieved to be rid of her company, but it was such a shame a member of the black family would make such a great husband. Her father and Sirius mother would likely force them to go on a second date after this fiasco. Alecto shuddered at the thought ‘he may be a black, but he is nothing more than an uncultured waste of space there have to be better candidates than him.’

After giving it a bit of thought she wondered if regulus might make for a better candidate. From what she heard of the boy he was considered an outstanding young man by most of her associates not to mention unlike Sirius he had proper respect for his family's ways. At the very least she could try to convince her father of the idea if her next date with Sirius would fail.
