This has nothing to do with my fic 'Percy Jackson's guide on how to not die in an alternate universe', this is just a two-shot fic in a universe where Harry Potter and Percy jackson coexist, it's universe structure in entirely different from the one in my previous fic.

Chapter 2

"Growing up, I wasn't all that close to my aunt, or her son, who was year's older than I was. Aunt Hope, she- she was my father's only sister, they had grown up quite close, yet when she married that man Lyall Lupin, they lost almost all contact."

Frederick picked up his glass to take another sip of water. Annabeth's glass remained untouched while Percy had taken to messing with his, by making the water swirl around in the air.

Frederick shot Percy a quick glance before speaking again. "I don't know much, but a few years after my cousin, Remus, was born she passed, her husband Lyall had passed to but we aren't sure whether it was before or after aunt Hope died, their kind was always so secretive."

"What do you mean by 'their kind' " Percy asked.

"I'm getting to that part" Frederick mumbeled.

"My father's name was Remus Lupin?" Annabeth whispered.

"Remus John Lupin." Frederick confirmed.

Percy's nose wrinkled, "who names their kid 'Wolf John McWolf, no offence".

"None taken, i've barely met the guy." Frederick responded.

"Will you two please stop bonding and continue on with the story?" Annabeth snapped impatiently.

"Yes, yes i'm sorry" Frederick said as he fixed his glasses. "I've heard that there are other types of Demigod's like Roman and Norse, that your kind hasn't really been involved with."

Percy shot up at that, "Yeah, we are familiar with the Romans now, not so much with Norse demigod's though" Percy said while scratching his head.

Annabeth raised an eyebrow in suspicion, she had started to see where this was going, "Yes, other God's of other religions exist, but we don't really interact with them, in fact we try our best to avoid them, nothing good comes out with getting involved with them."

Percy nodded along to what Annabeth had said and Frederick nodded.

"There's this other world out there, somewhat like the demigod world but much more advanced." Frederick muttered. "They are wizards and witches, they do everything by magic, and have their own societies."

"Wait really?" Percy exclaimed, looking up shocked.

"Yes, They have societies that exist in every part of the world, unlike demigods you could find them in every country, loads of them, i've met a few myself." Frederick took another sip of water, "Lyall Lupin was a wizard, my aunt was normal like me, their son was like his father."

"Wait does that mean Annabeth's a wizard?" Percy asked.

"A witch, and no I believe Annabeth is what their kind calls 'squib' "

"Squid?"

"No, Squib, it means someone who doesn't have any magical powers despite their parent or parents having it. I believe Annabeth's mother is to blame for her lack of magic."

Annabeth couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "Didn't you just tell me not to insult my mother but you go ahead and insult her."

"It's different your mother can't hurt me like she can hurt you, I made a deal with her, one i'll talk about in a bit." Frederick took another sip of water.

"Where was I? Yes, your biological father was raised in the wizarding world, he went to boarding school for magic as well, I heard during that time there was major war going on and your father joined a secret organization in order to get rid of the enemy."

"Hey, why doesn't CHB have it's own boarding school? That way demigods all around the world don't have to constantly go back home for school and they get to be protected by the barrier. Plus then they would have so much more time to practice." Percy said rambling.

Annabeth couldn't help but smile at him, "I'll mention it in the next meeting Seaweed brain."

Percy grinned and Frederick smiled at them sadly.

"As I was saying, your father was a very intelligent man, which is why your mother was so attracted to him, there was something different about Lupin that made your mother interested in him, I don't think it was the magic."

"Maybe he was a secret werewolf as well as a wizard, I mean it's literally his name." Percy joked.

Annabeth rolled her eyes, "Not likely Seaweed brain."

Frederick continued,"When your mother met your father he was already in his thirties, he wasn't doing well in life, The previous war had taken the lives of many of his friends, Athena saw potential in him, that's why she hung around him, to make his life better."

Frederick picked up a cookie and bit in it, he didn't like sweets but no one else was eating and his lovely wife worked quite hard on them.

"In 1993, the year you were born, your father got a teaching position at his old school, he told Athena about it and had gone back to the wizarding world, at the same time you came into the world, July 12th, 1993."

Annabeth blinked this was all too much to take in.

"Your mother couldn't get into the wizarding world as it wasn't her domain, so she came to me, hoping I could get in contact with him for her, but little did she know I was absolutely no help at all."

Percy let out a laugh, "Wait, so the only reason she got close to you was because she needed the father or her child in other words your cousin to come pick his kid up"

"Percy!" Annabeth frowned, "this is kind of serious".

"I'm sorry, i'm sorry wise girl, I won't interrupt again." Percy said, grin still intact.

Frederick looked embarrassed but cleared his throat and continued,"Since me and Remus weren't really close I couldn't really get into contact with him and because Athena couldn't send you off to CHB that young, she gave you too me."

Things started to make a lot more sense, as absurd as this whole wizard thing sounded, it wasn't impossible.

"I tried to raise you as my own child, but it was kind of hard to as I was young and I didn't really know what I was doing"

"Does he know I exist?" Annabeth asked.

Hurt flashed Frederick's eyes "Oh Beth, he died a month before your fifth birthday, by the time I figured out how to contact the wizarding world it had already been to late."

Annabeth's heart dropped, but she should have known, she didn't really have the best luck when it came to family.

"Even though, I may not be your biological father and even though I've made a lot of mistakes, you Annabeth Chase are still my daughter no matter what happens, i'm sorry for how I treated you."

I'm sorry

That's all she needed to hear for the tears to start streaming.

Annabeth let years of anger and frustration out.

She cried for her broken childhood, she cried for a man she's never met, she cried over the fact she and Frederick never got along.

Sometimes Annabeth wishes she was normal, this was one of those times.

But just like she always did, Annabeth would eventually pick herself and move on, but for now she could afford to cry in front of her father and her boyfriend. After all, there was nobody else in the world she trusted more than the two of them.
